Dec 10, 2011 | Christmas, class, Tags |
Hi all – I hope you weekend is off to a good start. I had a super lazy morning – slept in – I really needed that. Lounged around, checked some emails, played Angry Birds, and did a bit of nothing. But now I am showered and dressed and ready to get on with the day. And since I have been neglecting my blog a little bit I thought I would start my day here.
Today I have some tags to show you – we will be making these at my hands on class this coming Friday – if you’d like to come to class please email me – my website is down right now so you can’t rsvp there. Hopefully Stampin’ Up! will get that fixed soon.

The idea for these tags came from a non-SU crafting blog that I follow. I just adapted the ideas to use all Stampin’ Up! products.
Class will be on Friday, December 16th at 10 am and also at 7 pm. This is just one of the things we will be making. That’s all for now.

Have you seen this fun idea before?
It’s the Pick A Petal stamp set used to make candle flames. I saw this idea a long time ago where someone took the solid petal to make the flames. I stamped mine in Daffodil Delight. And for mine I decided to add the line petal image in More Mustard so it looked like flickering flames. Not sure it quite does that but it adds some dimension and character to the flames. To finish the candles I used strips from the Celebrations Designer Series paper. The wick is just the Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker. I tied some Real Red Grosgrain ribbon around the candles and then added that piece to the front of a Bashful Blue card base. To the left I added some strips from the Celebrations Quick Accents. These self-adhesive die cuts are always fun to use. And finally to finish off the card I stamped “happy birthday” from the Family Phrases stamp set.
This card was part of my Hands-On class last week featuring Last Chance items so you guessed it there are several things I used on this card that are on the last chance list. So if you want them order them quickly by going to my online store. Everyone that places a $50 or more product order will be entered into a drawing for a free stamp set – so click here to get shopping.
These are the items from this card that are on the Last Chance list –
#115042 Pick a Petal stamp set
#114960 Family Phrases stamp set
#117164 Celebrations Designer Series paper
#118708 Celebrations Quick Accents
#109052 Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. It will be one of the cards in this months Card Maker’s Club – if you want to make some be sure to sign up for my class on June 29th. Have a great day!

May 12, 2011 | class, Masculine, My Digital Studio, Newsletter, Summer Mini 2011 |
I have a bad feeling that my May Newsletter and Class Reminder emails are not getting to my email list. Why – I do not know. But several people this week have commented to me if I was having a class and I said yes – I sent out the newsletter the first of the month and a reminder the first of this week – my hands-on class is TOMORROW. Hopefully many of my email listers are also blog subscribers or Facebook friends and will see this post. I am going to put my May newsletter here in this blog post – we’ll see how that works – I’m not sure all my pictures will stay in tact and I’ll probably have to figure out how to add those back in the right place and I know the fonts and probably colors won’t stay – oh well. And by the way my hands-on class is supposed to be tomorrow – but perhaps I need to reschedule – we are making masculine projects and here is a look at some of what we are doing –
I need to know TODAY if you want to attend at either 10:00 am or 7:00 pm so I can cut your class materials. I’ll look at my calendar for next week and may hold another session due to this problem with my emails going out. I may have to look into another method for sending out newsletters. Anyway here is my May newsletter –

May 2011
Last month I showed you the eggs in the nests in my yard – now we have babies!

Chickadee babies on 4-23

Tufted Titmouse babies 4-23
The chickadees actually fledged (left the nest) in the last day or so – they are pictured on the left. The tufted titmouse babies are almost ready to fledge too – but the picture above is earlier in April – I think they are so funny when they have those big beaks open waiting for food. They didn’t stay open long once they realized I wasn’t mom or dad.
This month I am planning to start a new club – the Card Maker’s Club – our focus will be all about cards. The club will meet on the last Wednesday of the month from 7-9:30pm. So this month we will meet on May 25th. Bring a list of cards that you need for the month of June – birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, thinking of you – whatever you might need. Each club meeting will be $15 and you will make 6 cards with envelopes. If time permits you can make additional cards for $2 each – so you make as many as you need in the time of the class. And you can choose which cards you want to make and how many – there will be at least 10 different card choices. And card designs will be available for more than one month – so you can come back to make more or make some that you didn’t get to the last time. This should give you flexibility to create what you need each month.
Please bring adhesive – if you’d like me to order Stampin’ Up! Snail Adhesive, Snail refill, or Tombow Multipurpose glue to have on hand for you please let me know before the class.
BYOB – I will provide a small snack. I think it will be fun and I hope you will join me. Everyone is invited – earn free cards by bringing a friend that I don’t know.

Apr 16, 2011 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Embellishments, SU Buttons, SU Ribbon |
During the month of April Stampin’ Up! has a special called the Spring is Blossoming promotion. It is a sneak peek of two new products from our next Idea Book & Catalog that will be out in July. During April is you spend $20 you can buy the Four Frames stamp set and the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper. The stamp set contains four images that fit in the Decorative Label Punch – so you’ll want that to go with this set. I’ve already shared one project that I made with this set and today I have another.
This was one of the cards we made on Friday in my Hands-On Class. The layout for the card came from one that I saw in a magazine – I followed the sketch from that card but everything else was different. The card base is River Rock. And the top left corner is corner rounded. A piece from the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper is layered on the front (also corner rounded in the top left corner). Going across the card is a strip of Baja Breeze that was punched with the Eyelet Border punch. And then another piece of the Designer Series Paper is added to that. The Four Frames stamp with the bird was stamped with Early Espresso ink on Whisper White card stock. Punch out with the Decorative Label punch. Add a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Using the Baja Breeze Stampin’ Write marker color the very edge of the label and also color in the bird.
Now on the left side of the card is some Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, a Paper Daisy, an Early Espresso button and some Linen Thread – it is all tied together – trim the ends of the ribbon and thread and it creates a pretty embellishment on the card. Do you like it?
I seem to gravitate towards the frame with the bird – but I’ll have another card tomorrow that uses a different frame. I hope you’ll be back to see it.
