On My Mind – Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hello my friends – I am back from the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to the Greek Isles.  I’m not quite caught up to my blog posts but I did manage to squeak in with this Paper Pumpkin project for the monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – On My Mind. This kit coordinates with three suites from the Annual catalog!  So if you love the look of these cards (and I know I do) you can use the coordinating products to keep on creating once your kit supplies are gone.

I love that some of the Paper Pumpkin kits are now coordinating with the Annual Catalog.  This month’s kit had three card designs and they match with three suites – Woven Thread Suite, Garden Lane suite, and Come Sail Away suite.  Personally I loved the cards as is and the one with the sail boat will make a perfect birthday card for my brother in early August!

I struggled with what alternate idea I wanted to do.  There aren’t really left overs from the kit this month and I loved the cards the way they were and the envelopes.  I think I’m in love with the printed envelopes but I don’t want to tear them up either.  So its a struggle.  I finally decided that I needed some tags.  Every month I create tags to go on my customer orders that get picked up at my house.  I may have told you that before.  So I decided to take the focal element of each card and create a tag idea with it.  I added in pieces of designer series paper from the coordinating suites and a couple of other things to complete my tags.

On My Mind Tags

Here are four tags for each of the card ideas.  I mostly added card stock, the coordinating Designer Series Paper from the suite, and some punches.  The tags are similar to the main focal image on each card.

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:

  • Card stock – Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Old Olive, Pool Party
  • Designer Series Paper – Woven Threads, Garden Lane, Come Sail Away
  • Punches – Everyday Label, Classic Label, Banner Triple Punch
  • Dies – Layering Circles, Stitched Shapes, Smooth Sailing
  • Linen Thread
  • Classic Ink – Crumb Cake

I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks in a Facebook Live on Monday, July 29 on my facebook page.  I’ll come back and update this post afterwards.

I hope you liked this alternate idea for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Yum – Truffles!

I had a fun class earlier this month that I called Made with Love!  My friend Heather, who is a Pampered Chef consultant and I paired up to make it a fun event.  She showed us all how to make a couple of sweet treats and then I showed everyone how to package them up and we made a Valentine card to go with them.  It was a yummy and fun event!

I showed everything we made on a FB live video yesterday (Jan. 21, 2019).  You can see it here.  And now I wanted to share with you the details and some photos of each project.  Today is the Truffles!

First of all we made our truffles and then we needed to package them up.  You’ll find the recipe for the truffles themselves down below.  The little truffle package was made with the 3×6 Gusseted Cellophane Bags.  You can fit two small truffles or one larger on easily in the bag.  Once the bag is full tie it shut with ribbon – we used the Lovely Lipstick ribbon.  To make the tag use a strip of Whisper White card stock punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Then decorate it with the Meant to Be Bundle – stamps and the little heart die.  Finish it up with the heart epoxy droplet which was colored with a Stampin’ Blends Marker.

Supply List

  • #141704 – 3″x6″ Gusseted Cellophane Bags
  • #150587 – Meant to Be Bundle = Stamp set + Be Mine Stitched Framelits (used on all the projects in the video)
  • #100730- Whisper White card stock – 3″ x 2″
  • #146952 – Lovely Lipstick 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon
  • #147140 – Lovely Lipstick Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • #133324 – Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
  • #148583 – Heart Epoxy Droplets
  • #147026 – Lovely Lipstick Dark Stampin’ Blends

Here is the recipe for the truffles.  We rolled them in some coconut and valentine sprinkles.

Check back to see the rest of the projects – I’ll be posting them the rest of this week.

Lots of Lavender Gift Box

There are less than three weeks left of Sale-a-Bration.  Did you already get your favorite items for Free?  One of the Level 1 choice is the beautiful Lots of Lavender stamp set.  It reminds me of the Lavender farm that we visited last summer.  We were on San Juan Island in Washington, State.

For today’s project though I decided to use Berry Burst for the flowers and I think they came out pretty too.

Lavendar-box

I created a box out of Berry Burst card stock added the Berry Burst Metallic Edged Ribbon and finished with a tag.  Inside the box I used the Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie – Crinkle-cut shredded paper that perfectly matches my box.

The outline image is stamped in Black, the flowers in Berry Burst, the leaves in Old Olive and the ribbon in Soft Sky.   I added Wink of Stella over the flowers but you can’t really see it in the photo.

I also used the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies to cut the Celebrate out of Silver Foil.  The dies are a Level 2 Sale-A-Bration choice.  It’s tied on with some Soft Sky Baker’s Twine.

Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st so make sure you do your shopping before then!

Decorate a plain bag

Decorate a plain bag with a cute tag like I did here.  It’s Tuesday so I thought I’d share a tag idea – it’s Tag Tuesday right?  Oh wait maybe that’s just me being silly.

bag-with-a-tag

I use the Card Front Builder Thinlits again.  I just love the trees and the little deer. But they are retiring so be sure to order them before they are gone!

I layered them on some Lots of Labels cut pieces.  Tie on to the bag with ribbon.  And I added twine as well.  The greeting stamp came from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits.

SHOP HERE FOR THE DIES – the year end sales event is going on now.

Have a great day.

Tree Tags & Free Shipping

Last Friday I was scheduled to have a Wrap Up the Holidays class but mother nature didn’t like that idea.  Instead we had snow!  Which is not normal for us – I live in Georgia – we average maybe 1-2″ of snow in a whole year and that’s usually in Jan/Feb time frame – occasionally in March.  Rarely in December.  But this weekend we got about 8″ of snow at my house!  So since my class was cancelled I decided to be brave and do a FB Live on my Stamping Together At Monika’s Place Facebook page instead.  It was my first real one on my page where I showed a project.  You can visit my page to watch it if you haven’t already.

Here is the project that I made.

tree-tag-FB-project

It’s a set of tags featuring the Card Front Builder Thinlits dies and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.  I also made a little box to hold the tags.
