Hands On Class – Punch Art Garden Animals

This weeks Hands On Class is the Punch Art Garden Animals card set.  Super Cute!

I designed this project for the Ustamp online class and now I’m offering it as a reals hands-on class in my home.  I love all these little elements and you’ll love learning some different little tricks with your punches.    Here are the class details:

Hands-On Class – is Friday, April 20th – 10:00 am and 7:00 pm

This month’s class we will be making the Garden Animal Punch Art card set.  Come learn how to use various punches to make these cute animals and other elements that you can add to cards, scrapbook pages and other projects.  You won’t want to miss it!  RSVP by Wednesday night April 18th. Class fee is $15.  Plan to bring your snail tape adhesive, paper snips, a 2-way glue pen, and craft tweezers if you have them.  For punch art the 2-way glue pen and some fine tipped craft tweezers are very helpful.

If you are a demonstrator the scrapbook layout from last month may look a bit familiar – it is modified version of the layout that we made during our Make&Take Session at Leadership.  I took the 8×8 page and stretched it into a 2-page 12×12 layout.  What do you think?

Background is Old Olive stamped with Baroque Motifs.  The original 8×8 page is on the right page of the layout and I add another strip of Baja Breeze Designer Series paper to the left – the same height but wider and the card stock layer behind it.  I took the elements on the left side of the original 8×8 layout and moved them over to the left page.  Then added some extra blossoms from the set in the Occasions Mini Catlalog to fill in.  The two banners are on skewers – they were punched with the Pennant punch.

Up Up & Away Birthday Layout

Up Up & Away Birthday Layout

This layout was based on a sketch I found on Pinterest (there is a button on my side bar if you’d like to follow me).  I thought it looked like a fun birthday layout.  I used the Up, Up & Away stamp set with the Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper.  The clouds on the background were made using a scallop circle punch as a stencil and then sponging with Baja Breeze ink.  All the balloons are stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock and punched/cut out (see this post for a tip) and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The baskets are stamped on the the background.  I made this as a birthday layout but it could be many other things.  One of the papers in the Just Add Cake pack looks like notebook paper and I used that piece for the journaling banner.  For my sample I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment but you could also just write your journaling on the whole banner.

I hope you can make to scrapbook class this week (if you live near me that is).

Sale-a-Bration Hearts

One of the fun parts of a Stampin’ Up! event is the swapping – there is different kinds of swapping and it starts as soon as you are on your way to a Stampin’ Up! event.  At the airport you can usually spot another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and it’s not uncommon to start swapping at the airport while waiting on the plane, in the plane – especially when you are seated near the bathroom then everyone stops by to talk to you and if the swaps are out then we start swapping.  At every event I come home with swaps and I have a bunch from Leadership.  I usually pick out my favorites to use in my classes or hang on my display board.  The card I’m going to show you today is one of my swap cards from Leadership – I have been using it in my clubs and classes since I returned from Leadership and everyone has loved it.  The swap that I received was from Linda Purvis from Texas.  I made a few minor changes from her swap but not many. Here is my version:

And you could use this same concept with butterflies, flowers, stars, even balloons.  Most of the hearts are punched from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper using the Heart to Heart punch.  You can get this paper for free during Sale-A-Bration.  The ribbon on the card is from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack that you can also get for free during Sale-A-Bration.  Both of these are my favorite items to choose from and I have already gone through multiple packs of each.  Here is a full list of supplies that I used on my card.  For the big heart you can either punch it with the Full Heart punch or use the new Heart Framelits to cut it out.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Card stock:  Poppy Parade, Whisper White
  • Ink: Poppy Parade
  • Stamp sets: P.S. I Love You, Candy Conversations (both in the Occasions Mini Catalog)
  • Accessories:  Heart to Heart punch, Full Heart punch, Small Heart punch, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper, Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack (used the Lucky Limeade ribbon), Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I have more to share about the Leadership conference and I also plan to share more Valentine ideas since it is approaching quickly.  My Hands on Class this Friday is going to be themed “Love is in the Air” – we’ll be making some projects for those that you love.  It should be fun!

2012 Calendar Class

2012 Calendar Class

My Hands-on class for January 2012 is going to be a special 2012 Calendar Class.  The calendar is a My Digital Studio professional printed calendar on an easel stand so it sits on your desk.  At the class you will be adding hybrid elements to your calendar – pearls, rhinestones, punches, buttons, brads and ribbon.

Class is on January 13th at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm.

The class fee is $25.

This is a pre-registration class and pre-payment is preferred.  I need all RSVPs by Dec. 31st.  And I will place the print order for the calendars on Jan. 1st.

If I order you a calendar you must pay for it even if you can’t attend the class.  If you cannot attend the class you will receive all the supplies as a kit with instructions on which elements are added to each month.

Mini Glue Dots are the best adhesive for this project.

Here are a few pictures of the calendar:
