Hello! It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is the Kisses & Hugs kit from January 2022. A group of us get together to create alternate ideas throughout the year and bring them to you in a blog hop.
The Kisses & Hugs kit is not bound to just Valentine’s Day, it works for all love occasions year-round like anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, or those “just because” days. You’ll see below that I used it for a very special occasion that just happened in our family.
Love You Scrapbook Page
When I saw this month’s kit I knew I wanted to make a scrapbook page. When all my boys were home for the holidays I had some family photos made. And we had Ryan and his girlfriend, Emily, and their two dogs take some photos as well. I was secretly thinking they were practice engagement photos. And then on New Year’s Eve at midnight Ryan did propose! So once I had my kit I knew I could use one of the photos and make a scrapbook layout. The photo I used is one of my favorites of them.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
Simply Marbelous Designer Series Paper – free with a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration
Kisses & Hugs Add-on
A few notes about my page.
Cut apart one of the cards so that I could use the three individual hearts on my page.
Use a piece of the gray Simply Marbelous Designer Series paper and cut it in half. Cover the seam in the center with the large heart.
Stamp “love you” multiple times on the vellum heart
Stamp “love you” on the heart tag from the Add-on Kit and tie a piece of the gold twine through the hole.
The Kisses & Hugs Kit was designed as a card kit but you can also buy the Kisses & Hugs Add-on which are treat boxes. I used the heart tag and the gold twine from the add-on as part of my scrapbook page. And plan to use the boxes for some treats this month. This is what the add on looks like. I found some Strawberries & Cream Chocolate Truffles which should fit nicely inside these little treat boxes. You can still order the Kisses & Hugs Add-on – just add it to any of your regular Stampin’ Up! product orders
I hope you liked this alternate idea for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Hello – it’s Monika Davis from the USA. I’m joining the Maui Trip Achievers Blog Hop this month. This blog hop is for demonstrators all over the world that earned the Maui Incentive trip last year. There are many amazing stampers in this group so be sure to visit the other blogs in the hop. The list is down below. I’m so excited to have earned this incentive trip and go on one of my bucket list trips. But totally bummed that the virus has caused a delay. Our trip has now been moved to May 2021. I’m still working to achieve the next trip which has now become an extension of the original Maui Trip. I have a few more months left to earn it. Thank you to everyone that has ordered from me this year!
I have a really fun project for you today – it is basically a one sheet wonder project. This was created for my team meeting this past weekend. I taught the project and everyone was able to use their own 12×12 Designer Series Paper and coordinating colors, stamps, and dies. My project uses the Forever Greenery Suite. There are photos of three different versions – the idea is the same but the papers and embellishments change on each one. This morning I shared this on my weekly FB Live (June 22,2020) – here is the link if you’d like to watch me make the whole project – https://www.facebook.com/AtMonikasPlace/videos/359004241737185/
Forever Greenery Card Pouch – a 12×12 One A Sheet Wonder Project
This is basically a one sheet wonder project. The pouch and the 3 cards use a full 12×12 sheet of Designer Series Paper. Then add card bases, a few pieces of coordinating card stock, some ribbon and twine, and accent pieces – either die cuts or punches to finish the cards and the front of the pouch. See below for the supplies. Here is a map for the 12×12 cutting guide.
Hello to you! I hope you are well, staying safe and staying busy. This might be a great time to get some crafting done. With Easter coming up quickly this weekend I thought I’d share a couple of projects that I made this week. You can see these projects on my Facebook Live from April 6, 2020 – you can watch that here – https://www.facebook.com/325026102188/videos/1368024350047514/
In past years we have had big family events for Easter – sometimes with 35 people at our house. The past couple of years we haven’t done that and this year it will just be Greg and I. I guess it will be just like any other day but I thought I’d make a couple of little treats for the table and I may take some to the neighbors and I’m making cards to send to our family. So let me show you:
Easter Card
This idea came from the back of the Jan-June Mini catalog and I used stamp sets and dies that I already had on hand. The bunnies are colored with Stampin’ Blends – Crumb Cake light and Petal Pink light. The grass die cut was cut into two pieces and trimmed to fit inside the stitching on the Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die. Then I glued them on top of each other and added the bunnies with dimensionals. If you want the grass to look more like grass you can trim off the cat tails but I didn’t want to take the time to do that.

Bunny Treat
I saw this little bunny treat shared online and it is so quick an easy to make with strips of Designer Series Paper. Wrap a hershey nugget or similar candy to go inside the bunny shape. They would make cute little treats to put at the table on Sunday. I’ve made some with the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.
Supply List
#149100 Perennial Essence Designer Series paper
#102300 Bone Folder
#122334 Simply Scored Scoring Tool
#146912 Polka Tulle Ribbon
#110755 Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
Spring Umbrella Cone
I made a little umbrella cone project as an alternate idea for the March 2020 – No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit. My original project used one of the envelopes to create the cone and then added candy and a tag using supplies from the kit. I decided to make another one using regular supplies that I had on hand. The Daisy punch can be used to make a bunny head and the balloon punch can be used to make eggs. To create the cone – trace a plate on a piece of 6×6 Designer Series paper.

My classes will be a little different for the time being. At the end of March I tried a quick call to go – it was kind of a last minute thing. I’m working on a class to go – or class by mail – not sure what to call it yet. It will feature the new Ornate Garden Suite. I’ll share more about that soon.
This past weekend I hosted a Honey Bee themed Stampin’ Bingo Event. I was joined by 24 lovely ladies for a fun afternoon of stamping and bingo. We had lots of different prizes, some cute make&takes, yummy snacks and fun catching up with old and new friends. On Monday I did a Facebook Live on my business page and showed how to make all the cards – you can watch that here – https://www.facebook.com/AtMonikasPlace/videos/2597103517176085/
If you haven’t liked my Facebook Business page yet – please hop over and do that and then be sure to catch me every Monday for a Live Stamping session. I would love to have you join me. Or you can go back and watch the replay later. Now on to the projects I wanted to share. First here are some photos of the room and the set up on Sunday.
Everyone received a goody bag with some of the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper, a roll of Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon, a Mango Melody Dark Stampin’ Blends, a sponge dauber, and dimensionals. Plus the supplies to make the 4 cards.
I had some fun snacks for everyone – I found little lemon cakes that looked like bee hives and then bought sugar bees and “glued” them on with icing. My friend Hilary made cookies and decorated them with bees, flowers, and honeycombs. Everything was yummy!
As a thank you everyone received honey sticks with a mini honey dipper.
