May 9, 2017 | Eastern Palace Suite |
As we get closer to the end of the 2016-2017 Annual catalog and the 2017 Occasions catalog the anticipation of new products is making everyone very excited. Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have a perk of being able to see and order select products early. Those of us that went to the OnStage event in April were able to order a selection of items in April and now all demos can order from a larger selection in May. But guess what there are a few items that customers can get this month too! It’s the Eastern Palace Suite – and there are two special bundles available that include brand new products, new In-Colors and Free products!
I’ve been playing with this bundle and have discovered that it is going to be a very versatile set with a ton of possibilities! The combination of the stamps and the thinlit dies will create so many different designs. I want to sit down and see just how many combinations I can create with the dies alone. That will be another post. For today I want to show you that the stamp set images and the Designer Paper work so well together. You can stamp the images on the paper in the colors that you want and change/enhance the look of it.
Here I took the Designer Paper (left photo) and stamped on it with two of the images in the stamp set and two of our new In-Colors – Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide. The star image in the large spaces and the little diamond in the small spaces.
I used the stamp piece to create this triangle box project.
I used the Eastern Palace Thinlit dies to create the Dapper Denim flower. You can fill this box with treats to give to someone special. Use ribbon to tie it shut – no adhesive needed. Here is a diagram of the box – which is basically just a card with some extra score lines.
Here are some more cards created with this bundle
And here you can see the two bundle options:
Thanks for stopping by today!

Jul 11, 2014 | Cards, Masculine, Photopolymer |
You may have noticed in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog we no longer have Stampin’ Around Wheels. They all retired with our last catalog. I know that for me I really hadn’t used any in a long time – and I guess others weren’t either. In fact some people were unmounting their wheels so they could use them on a clear block. It was something I had considered but hadn’t gotten around to doing. Well Stampin’ Up! gave us a new solution – new photopolymer stamps in our catalog that are borders or what I call long stamps. These are designed to replace the wheels. Because they are the new clear photopolymer they are very easy to place and position on your project. For this project I used the new Draw the Line stamp set. This card is a slightly modified version of a card from our Stampin’ Success demonstrator magazine.
The open circles, the arrows and the full circles are all just one line of images – but so easy to repeat and place on the card because the stamps are photopolymer and you can see exactly where you are placing them.
I have a couple of tips for using the photopolymer that work for me. Make sure you get ink on the whole image – the new Stampin’ Up! ink pads work well the old style not so much. When you stamp hold the image on the card stock briefly to give the ink a chance to transfer from the stamp to the card stock. Don’t go down and up really fast – you want full contact between the stamp and the card stock. Clean your photopolymer stamps on a paper towel sprayed with Stampin’ Mist. I found that when I use my scrub my stamps pick up any residual ink left from other projects. Inks that are red, yellow, brown will leave a faint stain on the stamps – I can’t find any way to avoid it. The blue, greens don’t seem to do that. I have not tried using Stazon on my photopolymers.
FYI the little clip at the top of the card is attached with a glue dot not actually clipped to my card – i wanted to see the whole clip and if you slide it on part of it ends up in the back where you can’t see it.
Here is everything I used on this card:
Mar 19, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Lovely as a Tree |
How long has it been since you stamped with Lovely as a Tree?
It is one of Stampin’ Up!s top selling stamp sets and I recently pulled it out to make this card.
I also pulled out a color that I hadn’t used recently – Always Artichoke. It’s been a while.
This is a “window” card. Well that’s what I call it – since I cut a “window” out of the card front with a framelit and my Big Shot and the stamped image is underneath it. Stamp on the Whisper White piece and layer it on the inside of the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Before you add the white use the Paper Piercer, the Piercing mat and the template to match the framelit to add the piercing around the frame.
I stamped a simple sentiment and added some Linen Thread. A quick and clean card. I hope you like it.
Dec 3, 2013 | Best Of 25 Years, Clearance Rack, My Digital Studio, SU Updates, Tell Me Tuesday, Valentine's Day, Weekly Deals |
Now that Thanksgiving is over we can focus full time on Christmas! What are you working on right now? I was able to complete a My Digital Studio project for the boys (I’ll have to share it later) and a card design and get them sent to the printer on the last day of the Print sale. I’m working on some tags and treats for my class this month and preparing for Stamp Club this week – if it works out I have a cute snowman project for them this week. I have a couple of other projects on my table to try to get done. And then of course there is the decorating of the house and shopping to be done. Plus my team meeting this weekend.
Oh and late last night in the last few minutes of Cyber Monday I ordered a small sewing machine – it was kind of a quick decision to get that particular one. But I’ve been wanting to get one for quite some time. There seems to be a trend to sew on cards and scrapbook pages and I’ve been wanting to do that. I think this machine will be perfect for that – at least I hope so!
