Jul 5, 2013 | Birthday, Cards, Masculine, This & That |
This is my version of a card I found on Pinterest. I made a few changes but it is generally the same. I think it make’s a great masculine birthday card.
- Daffodil Delight card base
- Basic Gray layer – embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder
- Some flags made from the Epic Day Designer Series paper
- Make a Wish from the stamp set called Make a Wish – it is stamped in Basic Gray on Whisper White card stock
- Stamped the splatter from the Paper Pumpkin Welcome kit in the background in Daffodil Delight
- Attach to the Basic Gray layer
- Tie a piece of Basic Gray stitched ribbon around
A fun card that would be easy to create with any of the designer papers in a variety of colors!
Thanks for visiting today!

Jul 3, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Embossing, In Colors |
I love how these turned out! We made this Swallowtail Note Card set at my In-Color class last month. I think this was one of my favorite projects and the perfect gift for someone. I’m not sure why I waited so long to get the Swallowtail Stamp. I know it is big and can be intimidating to use but it worked out so nicely for this project.

The set includes 5 notecards with the envelopes packaged inside a clear bag, tied with ribbon and finished with a cute tag. Here are some close ups for you to get a better look at everything.
The note cards are smaller than the regular cards we normally make and the big Swallowtail stamp is much bigger than the front of the card so I decided to wrap the stamp around the back.
- Don’t fold the note card until after you do the stamping.
- Stamp the Swallowtail image in Versamark Ink and cover with Clear Embossing Powder. Heat set with the Heat Tool.
- use a Stampin’ Sponge and ink to sponge around the embossed image – I start in the center where I want it to be darker and then sponge in a circular motion out to the edge. Repeat until the whole butterfly is covered – it pops right off the card!
- Stamp a greeting on the bottom of the card.
- Stamp a matching envelope – I use the smaller swallowtail image from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.
I made a card in each of the five new In-Colors – Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe.
After sliding all the card inside the bag. Tie it shut with a piece of the Ruffled Ribbon and add a tag from the Chalk Talk set.
Love that set with the matching framelits! I added a little flower to dress up the tag.
A cute gift don’t you think!

Jul 2, 2013 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Simply Scored |
The Day Dreams Medallions stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Floral Frames Framelits and makes this card easy to create.
I saw this card in the Stampin’ Up! catalog and wanted to create a version of it. It is hard to see in the photo but the card front is actually a window – cut with the framelit. And the flowers are stamped and layered on the inside of the card front. In order to accommodate the large image the card is a square 5″ x 5″ card. Since our regular envelopes don’t fit I created my own envelope using a piece of Designer Paper and my Simply Scored and Diagonal plate.

I know you’ll want to know a little more about making the envelope so here are some measurements for you.
- The card is 5×5 finished size.
- The Designer Paper is cut to a 8″ x 8″ square.
- use the Simply Scored with the Diagonal Plate – place the paper in the corner and score on all four sides diagonally at 3-3/4″.
On each side the score lines will overlap and form a small triangle – cut those away.- Then fold on the score lines.
Fold in two opposite sides. And some adhesive to the bottom triangle and fold it up to create the envelope.- Slide in your card.
- You can make the top flap sticky by applying Multipurpose Liquid Glue and let it dry completely- this forms a repositionable adhesive on the flap. The Two-Way glue pen works the same way.
Have a great day!

Because clearance items are only available while supplies last, it’s possible that the item will not be available when the order is actually submitted, making it necessary for me to contact you so that you can find an alternate item or risk possibly affecting the hostess benefits.

Jun 30, 2013 | Birthday, Cards |
I thought I posted this on Friday – and I noticed today it is still sitting in my drafts – oops.
Did you notice in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog that there are bundles that offer you a 15% savings? One of the bundles available is the Label Love Bundle. It includes the Label Love stamp set and coordinating Artisan label Punch. Here is a quick card using the bundle.

The color combination also came from the catalog. The samples throughout the catalog have the backgrounds labeled with a color so you can see the combinations that they are using on the pages. This one is Pumpkin Pie, Coastal Cabana and Real Red you can see them used together on page 36 of the catalog.
In case you are wondering how I layered the punch – the Pumpkin piece is punched and then cut in half and glued to the back of the stamped white piece. I didn’t have any of the new buttons at the time I made this card so the Real Red button is one from the last catalog – but there are cute new buttons in the new catalog.
Have a great weekend!
