Washi Tape & Hearts

One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! products is the color coordination!  And this card shows how well the Washi Tape and card stock colors coordinate to make a cute and simple card.

washi-tape-hearts

I used the Daffodil Delight Gingham Washi Tape from the Gingham Garden collection – with a Daffodil Delight punched heart.

The Pumpkin Pie Chevron Washi Tape from the Witches Brew collection – with a Pumpkin Pie punched heart.

And the Basic Gray stripe Washi Tape from the Epic Day This & That collection – with a Basic Gray punched heart.

Project #5 from my Washi Tape class.  This is really a quick card using the Notecards & envelopes – nothing to cut or measure and you can punch the hearts from scraps.  The Washi Tape tears easily giving you the rough edges.  The hardest part is tying the ribbon in a knot  and stamping words straight!  And a quick tip – if you do it like I did and mess up the words – stamp them again on a scrap of Whisper White card stock – trim it out – and glue it on top of the messed up words.  Yep I did that.

Washi Pocket and Clip

washi-pocketTwo more Washi Tape projects today.  First a pocket or maybe I should call it a pouch – made from two pieces of Vellum card stock and then close up three sides with the Washi Tape – I used the Gingham Garden washi tape.

I added a little tag using the Label Loves stamp set and matching Artisan Label punch.

Then the clip – just a regular wooden clothespin for the clip – covered with Washi Tape – the floral print happens to be the same width as the clothespin – perfect!  To decorate it up a bit I added a Vintage Faceted button tied with some Linen Thread.  Use the clip to hold the pouch shut.

And the pouch ( or pocket) is the perfect size for the mini note cards I showed yesterday.

These could be used for a his & hers gift – a gift card for her and one for him in each of the little mini notes and then put them both in the pouch and close it up with the clip (add a magnet to the back if you want to use it on the fridge later).

That makes 4 projects from the Washi Tape class – I never actually counted how many different things we made – I just know it was a lot.  Be sure to keep coming back so you can see them all.

Washi Tape – Mini Note Cards

I have lot’s of Washi Tape ideas to share with you – it doesn’t take long to make some cute cards.  Today’s project are these adorable Mini Note Cards – which happen to be the perfect size for a gift card.

mini-notecardsThis first one uses the Gingham Garden and Season of Style Designer Washi Tape.  Each pack comes with three different designs.

mini-notecard2This one uses the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape.  And this one is turns out to be the perfect match to a Home Depot gift card!

It’s a little hard to tell just how big these are by looking at the photos and you may wonder how they are made.  It’s really super quick an easy – start with one of the 5″ x 3-1/2″ Note cards and the matching envelope.  These come together ready to use in packs of 20 – page 162 in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.

Cut the note card in half and the envelope in half!  This gives you mini notecards and envelopes.  To seal the side of the envelope use a piece of Washi tape!

That makes cards 1 & 2 from the Wild about Washi class I had earlier this month.  This idea came from Stampin’ Up! – just a cute idea.

I’m trying to get out a reminder email for classes this week – having some technical issues this morning.  Hopefully it will be resolved by the end of the day.

Tape It – the look of Washi Tape in a stamp set

One of my favorite new stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! catalog is the Tape It stamp set.  It gives you the look of Washi Tape!  And right now I’m really in love with Washi tape.  I even had a class this month Wild about Washi and I had so much fun creating projects for the class I went a bit overboard.  Everyone that attended go to make a bunch of cards/projects.  I even had more ideas that didn’t get included in the class.  I’ll be sharing the class projects this next week but today is one I made afterwards for one of my card clubs that met this week.  It’s just hard to stop…

tape-it-flower-shopThe colors for this card are Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana (and Whisper White).  I love these colors!

I wasn’t sure how much I would use the new Smoky Slate which is a light gray color but I am using it a lot.

Here is what I used on this card:

  • Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana (one of our new In-Colors), and Whisper White card stock
  • Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana ink
  • Tape It stamp set – it’s so easy to just stamp these tape pieces in any combination
  • Flower Shop stamp set and the Pansy Punch – love the coordination of these too
  • Mini Silver brads
  • A Dozen Thoughts stamp set – this is a great set – in case you missed it in the catalog it is in the kid/baby section – I find myself using this one all the time – my new go to greeting set

My BOGO sale is over – it was fun for me and fun for everyone that came and shopped and then got to shop for new products too!

Swallowtail Note Card Set

I love how these turned out!  We made this Swallowtail Note Card set at my In-Color class last month.  I think this was one of my favorite projects and the perfect gift for someone.  I’m not sure why I waited so long to get the Swallowtail Stamp.  I know it is big and can be intimidating to use but it worked out so nicely for this project.

Swallowtail-notecards

The set includes 5 notecards with the envelopes packaged inside a clear bag, tied with ribbon and finished with a cute tag.  Here are some close ups for you to get a better look at everything.

swallowtailThe note cards are smaller than the regular cards we normally make and the big Swallowtail stamp is much bigger than the front of the card so I decided to wrap the stamp around the back.

  • Don’t fold the note card until after you do the stamping.
  • Stamp the Swallowtail image in Versamark Ink and cover with Clear Embossing Powder.  Heat set with the Heat Tool.
  • use a Stampin’ Sponge and ink to sponge around the embossed image – I start in the center where I want it to be darker and then sponge in a circular motion out to the edge.  Repeat until the whole butterfly is covered – it pops right off the card!
  • Stamp a greeting on the bottom of the card.
  • Stamp a matching envelope – I use the smaller swallowtail image from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.

swallowtail-notesI made a card in each of the five new In-Colors – Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe.

After sliding all the card inside the bag.  Tie it shut with a piece of the Ruffled Ribbon and add a tag from the Chalk Talk set.

Chalk-Talk-tagLove that set with the matching framelits!  I added a little flower to dress up the tag.

A cute gift don’t you think!

New Possibilities for Clearance Items

You can now add clearance item to any order – including workshop, class and club orders.  We still strongly recommend that customers order clearance items on online orders or workshop orders via a hostess code to guarantee availability.  Because clearance items are only available while supplies last, it’s possible that the item will not be available when the order is actually submitted, making it necessary for me to contact you so that you can find an alternate item or risk possibly affecting the hostess benefits.

In the 2013-2014 annual catalog, we offer the Stampin’ Write Marker New Color Kit (item 130034, page 163) to help you update your Many Marvelous Marker pack. Now, we’ve sweetened the deal. For a limited time, from June 26 until October 31, you can buy any of the new colors in the pack or on their own! Go ahead, fill in the missing pieces in your collection or buy the whole lot. Individual markers available in Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder.
