Jun 6, 2014 | In Colors |
We have 5 brand new trendy colors to add to our color collections for the next two years.
Let me introduce you to them.
Lost Lagoon
I am calm and peaceful, and that’ hard to come by in this crazy world. Maybe that’s why they call me lost. Find me and I’ll soothe your soul.

Hello Honey
I’m sweet and subtle. I won’t scream for your attention, but give me a chance and you’ll realize just how much I have to offer. Soon you’ll see I’m as good as gold.

Blackberry Bliss
I am deep and rich and sweet and juicy. Plus, I’m purple, and who doesn’t need more purple in their lives? You know you want me.

Mossy Meadow
Not only am I tall, dark, and handsome, but I’m rich too. And I’m deep, which is the complete opposite of shallow. All the other colors are green with envy. I’m green without envy.

Tangelo Twist
I am bright and vibrant – some might say I’m a bit flamboyant. Sometimes people confuse me with my cousin, Tangerine Tango, but I am truly my own kind of orange. Try me and you’ll see.

Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, and Blackberry Bliss might make you hungry. But no worries! After indulging in those tasty colors, you can take a calorie-burning stroll through a Mossy Meadow or around a Lost Lagoon.
May 23, 2014 | In Colors, Paper Pumpkin, Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat |
Hi all! I wanted to share with you all the fun we had at the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat! It was an awesome weekend of crafting, stamping, scrapbooking, eating, girl time and Friendship! This time I decided to start the retreat on Thursday evening to give everyone some extra crafting time on their personal projects if they wanted it. On the agenda for Thursday night was happy hour, setting up your craft station and a fire in the firepit with smores. Well it rained on Thursday and was too wet for us to have the fire so that got moved to Friday night.
Before everyone arrived it was a cleaning frenzy! Plus final set up of all the tables, chairs and goody bags along with a welcome gift for everyone.

Look at this cute little bag! And a sneak peek at some new products too! These are the brand new In-Colors for 2014-2015 shown in a brand new style of ribbon! The ribbon is hotglued around a muslin bag – I pulled out the cord. Cindy made a similar bag for one of her Artisan projects last month.
Here is a closer look at the tag –
The center of the flower is one of the pieces from the February 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit – In the Bag. You’ll see this kit used in a variety of projects from the retreat. If you are a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can order refills of this kit or the full kit. And if you aren’t a subscriber yet – sign up today and enter the code SHELLIDEAL to start your June subscription at 50% off!!
The flower is punched from the new Blackberry Bliss card stock with the Pansy punch. Pin the flowers to the bag with a safety pin and add a little Linen Thread bow.
The new In-Colors and ribbons will be available in the new catalog that starts on June 2nd. I’m having a New Catalog Open House on June 1st – if you live near me come pick up a new catalog, make&takes using new products from the catalog, enjoy snacks and more plus have a chance to win a brand new stamp set too!

Do you want to know what I put inside the bags? There was a Post-It pad, a little pencil, a sheet of Stampin’ Dimensionals, a piece of a Stampin’ Sponge. And Sue brought everyone some chap stick which I stuck in there too.
And here are a couple of pictures that I took Thursday night – a few of us got started working on Thursday night.

May 20, 2014 | Cards, In Colors, Retired List, sympathy |
It seems these last few weeks I have had many family and friends that have experienced a loss of someone in their lives. I have been trying to create some sympathy cards to send out and for some reason its just not easy to do. I created this card for my hands-on class using some of the retiring products from Stampin’ Up!

This card uses the very pretty Field Flowers stamp set and I paired it with the So Sorry stamp set – both are on the retired list. Since the card base is so dark – Chocolate Chip – I added a Whisper White layer on the inside of the card for writing a short note. The Gumball Green and Primrose Petals are two of the retiring In-Colors. And the Dahlia’s are retiring too – they make a cute little flower accent.
Here are all the products I used. The So Sorry stamp set is already sold out. And the Banner Punch will be available in the new catalog June 2nd.
I took some new bluebird pictures today – I still need to download them to the computer so I can share them with you. Have a great day!
Mar 14, 2014 | In Colors, Occasions Catalog 2014, Sale-A-Bration 2014, Scrapbook Pages |
I created a scrapbook layout with the Sweet Sorbet Collection from Sale-A-Bration. I used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper and the Accessory Pack along with the See Ya Later stamp set. Here is my 2-page 12″ x 12″ scrapbook layout.

The colors included are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, and Whisper White. Here are some closeups of the clusters of elements….

After I took out the cork pieces that I was using I decided to try punching out from the scraps that were left. I was able to use the Itty Bitty Punch pack and punch extra little flowers to add on my page. I just used a Black Marker to add a dot in the center of each flower.

There is a punched heart border across the layout with flower sprinkled in. The flowers are from the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.
I tied bows with the colored Baker’s Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack and added them to my page with glue dots. To keep the ends from unraveling I tied little knots.
A couple of the In Color Boutique Details were added to the page too – Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding were part of my color scheme. If you have been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber you would have received a free gift of these in one of the last few kits – I think they came in the January kit.
The page is ready for pictures and journaling to be added. What do you think about the layout?
Thanks for stopping by.

Aug 24, 2013 | Cards, In Colors, Washi Tape |
One of my favorite new stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! catalog is the Tape It stamp set. It gives you the look of Washi Tape! And right now I’m really in love with Washi tape. I even had a class this month Wild about Washi and I had so much fun creating projects for the class I went a bit overboard. Everyone that attended go to make a bunch of cards/projects. I even had more ideas that didn’t get included in the class. I’ll be sharing the class projects this next week but today is one I made afterwards for one of my card clubs that met this week. It’s just hard to stop…
The colors for this card are Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana (and Whisper White). I love these colors!
I wasn’t sure how much I would use the new Smoky Slate which is a light gray color but I am using it a lot.
Here is what I used on this card:
- Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana (one of our new In-Colors), and Whisper White card stock
- Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana ink
- Tape It stamp set – it’s so easy to just stamp these tape pieces in any combination
- Flower Shop stamp set and the Pansy Punch – love the coordination of these too
- Mini Silver brads
- A Dozen Thoughts stamp set – this is a great set – in case you missed it in the catalog it is in the kid/baby section – I find myself using this one all the time – my new go to greeting set
My BOGO sale is over – it was fun for me and fun for everyone that came and shopped and then got to shop for new products too!
Upcoming Events you don’t want to miss:
Wednesday August 28th – Card Maker’s class
Friday August 30th – Wow Scrapbook class
September 27th – 29th – Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat

Jul 3, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, Embossing, In Colors |
I love how these turned out! We made this Swallowtail Note Card set at my In-Color class last month. I think this was one of my favorite projects and the perfect gift for someone. I’m not sure why I waited so long to get the Swallowtail Stamp. I know it is big and can be intimidating to use but it worked out so nicely for this project.

The set includes 5 notecards with the envelopes packaged inside a clear bag, tied with ribbon and finished with a cute tag. Here are some close ups for you to get a better look at everything.
The note cards are smaller than the regular cards we normally make and the big Swallowtail stamp is much bigger than the front of the card so I decided to wrap the stamp around the back.
- Don’t fold the note card until after you do the stamping.
- Stamp the Swallowtail image in Versamark Ink and cover with Clear Embossing Powder. Heat set with the Heat Tool.
- use a Stampin’ Sponge and ink to sponge around the embossed image – I start in the center where I want it to be darker and then sponge in a circular motion out to the edge. Repeat until the whole butterfly is covered – it pops right off the card!
- Stamp a greeting on the bottom of the card.
- Stamp a matching envelope – I use the smaller swallowtail image from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.
I made a card in each of the five new In-Colors – Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe.
After sliding all the card inside the bag. Tie it shut with a piece of the Ruffled Ribbon and add a tag from the Chalk Talk set.
Love that set with the matching framelits! I added a little flower to dress up the tag.
A cute gift don’t you think!
