It’s that time of year when we start to say good bye to items that will be retiring from our current catalogs. The 2019 Occasions Catalog and the 2018-2019 Annual catalogs are both coming to an end. But don’t despair I just saw the new catalog that is coming in June and it has lots of exciting and pretty new things!! Until then let’s make sure you have what you wanted from these current catalogs.
First here are a few notes about Stamp sets and Bundles that are retiring.
- Due to high demand for retiring stamp sets, these items will have guaranteed availability until May 24; all other products are not guaranteed and are available while supplies last only.
- Wood-mounted and Clear-mounted stamp sets – all of these are retiring because we are switching to the new CLING stamps. Some of the actual stamp images are carrying over but they are listed as retiring because our current inventory of wood/clear is what is retiring. You can see this list CARRYOVER CLING of the ones that will continue in the new catalog as CLING.
- Bundles – All bundles are retiring. Bundles offer a 10% savings when they are first introduced in a catalog. But when the components carry over to the next catalog they are offered as individual items and no longer in the savings bundle. Get those now if you want the savings.
And some notes about other retiring items
- 2017-2019 In Colors – Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig – everything with these colors is retiring. Order refills for your ink pads and extra card stock and accessories now.
- Designer Series Paper – all the Designer Series Paper is retiring. We do have lots of pretty new paper coming but if you have something you love get it before it is gone.
- Trimmer & Cutting Blades – the Stampin’ Up! Trimmer is retiring along with the blades. A new solution is coming but I don’t know the time line for that right now. Stampin’ Up! has ordered additional cutting blades based on sales history. These will be available intermittently over the next several months. If they are out of stock you can select to receive an email for when they are back in stock. These will likely sell quickly every time a shipment arrives. Quantities are limited to 6 packs (2 in a pack) when you do order.
Download the excel lists I’ve created of the retiring items from the Occasions catalog and the Annual catalog. The carryover sets that are switching to cling are not included. Stamp sets offered in both wood and clear mount are on the same line. Bundles are not included individually in these lists.

The best place to see what is available is in the online store. As items sell out they will be removed from the online store. It’s time for cake! The Cake Builder Punch is back in stock and you can order it now! That means the Piece of Cake Bundle is also available to order. Did you know that when you order as a bundle it saves you 10%? And we only have bundles when the items are introduced in the catalog. Meaning that once this catalog ends even if the products carry over (and the punch is for sure) they won’t be a bundle any more. So save your money now and order the bundle.

I used the Piece of Cake Bundle and the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper for my Bingo event at the end of February. It was a birthday theme and we made some fun cards. This one is Lovely Lipstick, Night of Navy and Whisper White. I randomly stamped the Happy Birthday all over the white panel. What I do is take the stamp – ink it – stamp, stamp, stamp – and then repeat. That gives you the varying degrees of color in the background.

The inside is finished to match with a coordinating strip of the Designer Series paper. The cake plate on the front is punched from the Silver Foil.
There is a little bit of Wink of Stella on the candle flames but I don’t think you can really see it in the photo.

I have some more updates about Sale-A-Bration products. A couple of things have hopped right outta here and others are moving fast. So if you have something you want you better hop on over to my online store and order it right now!
The Organdy Ribbon that was back at the beginning of the week sold out about a day later – I told you to hurry. I had this cute Hoppy Birthday card to share with you today. It will be an option in my Quick & Cute cards class at the end of the month.
I used the dies on the frog and the lily pad but if you have decent fussy cutting skills you can cut out that frog with paper snips. And to make a lily pad use a skinny oval shape and cut a notch out of one end. The little flies I stamped directly on the card and added a little “movement” with my black marker. Birthday comes from the new More Than Words stamp set.

I used a Smoky Slate Dark Stampin’ Blends to color the little handle on the top of the dome. The Adhesive Backed sequins are the perfect addition to this cut card.

Today I’m sharing a card that combines the stamp set Healing Hugs from the annual catalog and the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog. I thought they paired up well together. The paper is beautiful and has printed vellum sheets that are perfect for layering. The stamp set has some great sentiments for sending well wishes and hugs to those that need some.
This card uses the printed vellum over a piece of Whisper White card stock. And I added some of the fine tip glue pen behind the printed leaves and you can’t see it through the vellum. By the way I have a few tips for you on the Fine Tip Glue Pen – read about them below the card supply list.

Fine Tip Glue Pen Tips
Here are a few photos that I took of the cap of my Fine Tip Glue pen. I found that it was full of dried up glue and I needed to get that out. Then I used hot water to help soften the remaining glue and get the tip cleaned out until the needle would go back inside. This has helped me get several bottle flowing again. And if you can’t get the tip clear or the needle is broken or bent what I do is use the top from a new bottle – but don’t open the new bottle keep it sealed. And just finish the bottle I’ve already started. The Fine Tip glue works well on vellum.
- The brand new bottle has a seal on it – so take off the top and remove it before use.
- Keep the needle in the tip when not using. Which means you have to work with just a small bit at a time and keep sticking the needle back in. Don’t let it sit open.
- When you are finished tap the bottle on the table hard to knock down any glue remaining in the tip before closing it up tightly.
- Check the cap for fried glue – sometimes it isn’t the tip that is clogged but the cap.
- You can carefully clean the lid in hot water and pull out bits of dried glue – you’ll want to cover the open bottle while doing that.
- I filled the cap with very hot water and would let it sit and then slide the needle in. Repeat until I finally got the needle through. And then filled it and let all the hot water go through the needle to clean it completely.
Hopefully these tips will help save some of your fine tip glue pens. The most important thing is not to let the bottle sit open and let the glue dry inside that fine tip!
