Jun 14, 2019 | Cards, Graduation, Masculine |
Here is a quick and easy card idea that would work for a masculine card or for a graduation. Just choose the colors that you need or want. It’s also a perfect way to use up scraps of designer paper strips. Sometimes when cutting layers I end up with skinny little strips of paper or card stock left over. This is the perfect way to use those up.

This particular card used strips from the retired Classic Garage designer series paper. The colors are Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Tranquil Tide, and Basic Gray. You could replace the designer paper with strips of card stock or a different designer paper. The stripes ont he envelope where done with the Stampin’ Write Markers and a ruler. You could easily switch this out for school colors and add a happy graduation greeting.

May 29, 2019 | Cards, Designer Series Paper |
Here is one more quick card using the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. For this card I used one of the six panel pieces. This one looks like an oval frame. But instead of actually putting the frame on a card from I have used it to create a mask. You can see how I did this in my Facebook Live from May 13, 2019 – view FB live video HERE. I’ve been trying to stamp live every Monday on my Facebook page. If you missed any you can go back and watch the replays.

I used my sponge daubers to add ink – Pear Pizzazz for the ground and Balmy Blue for the sky. Then stamped in Black ink. It’s a simple one layer little note card.

May 19, 2019 | Cards, Designer Series Paper |
I have another set of cards using the beautiful Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. For these cards I used the piece that you have to cut up and it gives you some different strips and then some panels. The panels work perfectly with the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes. I explained it all in my Facebook Live from May 13, 2019 – view FB live video HERE. My next FB live video will be on Monday, May 20th.

Each panel fits perfectly on the front of the note cards. There are four different watercolor wash designs in the pack – two are Blackberry Bliss and two are Mint Macaron. All are on a Very Vanilla base. The laser-cut paper is Very Vanilla on one side so that is the side I used facing up. To finish the cards I added a greeting that was stamped on a Very Vanilla circle, and matted with a Mint Macaron starburst punch. The Faceted Dots and some Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon are the final touches to these fun little note cards.
Supply List
- #146907 Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut specialty paper
- #143717 Starburst Punch
- #133782 2″ Circle Punch
- #146911 Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes
- #146910 Faceted Dots
- #146912 Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
- #146626 Treat Time Stamp set
- #101650 Very Vanilla card stock
- #138337 Mint Macaron card stock
- #147088 Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin’ Pad
- #103683 Mini Glue Dots
- #110755 Multipurpose Liquid glue
I tried to take a photo to show you how to cut this paper. First you cut off the 12″ strips – the longer ones. Then you cut off the shorter strips. Then you cut apart the six panels that you would use on your cards. I am missing one of the panels – I used them all up in a class and didn’t have any more to show you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Apr 25, 2019 | Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
Hello my friends. Sorry I missed you last month – March was such a busy month for me. I have yet to even get that kit out and work on it. But I have moved on to the April kit and it’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is the April 2019 Sentimental Rose. And it is beautiful! One of my favorites so far.

This kit is perfect just the way it is in my opinion. But part of this hop is coming up with some Alternative Designs and change things up a little bit. The kit is full of flowers so it has a very feminine look and feel to it.

I put together one set of cards just as is – because they are pretty exactly as they were designed. But if you look in my photo the box is different. The box is cut in half! One half is for these feminine cards – for that one I used the flower to decorate the box. But I also decided to take one set and leave off the flowers and focus on the leaves so that I’d have a more masculine set of cards.
UPDATE: I filmed a Facebook live on April 29, 2019 showing these cards and alternate ideas: WATCH HERE
Masculine Card set in a half box
Instead of tying bows I tied knots. I eliminated the panel of flowers on the card on the left and stamped leaves directly on the corrugated cardboard. You can always turn the label over to use the plain white side without the pink outline. Stamping only leaves on the other two cards made an easy switch to something a little more manly. This half of the box I added just the leave and the kit came with two tags so that worked out perfect.

I didn’t actually add any additional supplies for these cards. But I did use a cutter to cut the acetate box and the corrugated sleeve in half. Here is a closer look at both sets in their boxes.

Stamped Full Size Cards
Now I love these cards so much what was I going to do when I ran out of the kit supplies. So I decided I wanted to create versions of these cards with other supplies and mimic the designs. It’s actually some simple stamping – basically paper, stamps and ink. In order to mimic the soft colors in the background I used sponge daubers. And for the splatters I used my Stampin’ Write Markers. I used Whisper White Baker’s twine just like the kit and then colored some of the Basic Pearls with my Stampin’ Blends to add them to the card. And all the envelopes are decorated too. These cards would fit in our regular Acetate boxes in our catalog.

Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Gray Granite, So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White
- Classic ink – So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron (Gray Granite came in the kit)
- Stampin’ Write Marker – Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Gray Granite
- Whisper White Baker’s Twine
- Basic Pearls
- Medium Whisper White Envelopes
- Stampin’ Blends – Mint Macaron Dark, Flirty Flamingo Dark
Here are some photos showing each different card with all three variations – the original from the kit, the masculine version using the kit, and then my full size cards.

I hope you liked this alternate idea for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
