Retired Items for sale

10/7/2012 UPDATE – I am updating what has sold and what is pending plus adding more items – all the updates can be seen on the page Retired Stamps for Sale – click here.

I am working on pricing and tagging retired items for sale.  I will be taking them all to a consignment sale next week but thought I would go ahead and offer them here on my blog.  If you are interested in any of these items please email me and be prepared to send me payment via PAYPAL (you can send it to my email address through paypal) by Monday night (10/8/2012).  Those that are not local will be asked to send a second payment for the cost of the shipping – I will have to see how much that is based on what you are getting and where you live and if I have a box/envelope that it will fit in or need to purchase something.  I only ship to US addresses so if you don’t live in the US please don’t reply.  I had hoped to have these ready sooner so it wouldn’t be such a short window but I have been very busy and it just didn’t happen.

If you have a specific question about an item please email and I will try to answer.  Most everything is used/opened.  I have many more stamp sets still to add but that may not be until Sunday so I hope to have another blog post on Sunday with those.  This is what I have so far –

Thank You Stampin’ Up!

Thank You Stampin’ Up! for a wonderfully relaxing Getaway Trip to Hilton Head Island, SC.  Greg and I really enjoyed the trip and the time away on no particular schedule.  I posted a few quick posts with some pictures why were there but I wanted to wrap it up with another post and a look at what we did during our few days away.

This post has some pictures and what we did on Thursday after we arrived.

This post has some pictures from Friday.

This was our pillow gift on the last night – Stampin’ supplies in a plastic case –

Here is what we got inside –

The Postage Due clear stamp set, Fan Fair Designer Series paper, Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette ink pads, Island Indigo Baker’s Twine and Ruffled Ribbon, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake Seam Binding, and a package of the Designer Vintage Faceted buttons.  Everything this weekend has had the Polka Dot Fabric and cute beach themed tags tied around it.

I put together a couple of two-page spreads in My Digital Studio showing some of the pictures that I took over the weekend.

Here are pictures taken at the Westin Resort where we stayed – views looking out to the beach and ocean, views of the pools and statues through the resort.

And this last layout were pictures from two of the places we went to visit – on Saturday we drove down to Sea Pines Plantation and stopped at South Beach and then went to Harbour Town.  We climbed to the top of the Lighthouse, walked around the Marina and ate lunch at the Crazy Crab.  Then we stopped at the Baynard Plantation Ruins.  On Sunday as we left Hilton Head Island we stopped at the National Wildlife Refuge at Pinckey Island – I took pictures of the wildlife and scenery as we walked around – we probably did about a 2 mile walk.

And look at these birds that we saw in South Beach – Macaws  –  the blues ones are Kiwi and Cherokee, the scarlet one is Captain.

It was a nice weekend and I’m slowing getting back in the groove here at home.  I’m working on prepping for a vendor table at an all day scrapbook crop on Saturday and then a scrapbook and stamping consignment sale next week.

Alright – time to get off the computer…..

You’re Great!

Would this be so cute to give to your favorite person just to say “you’re great!”?

And what is inside this little box is a mini bag of Gummy Bears.  Hmm – did I already share this project?  I feel like I already talked about Gummy Bears before.  Well I used the smiling bear from Under the Stars stamp set – it’s retiring – darn – it was great for smores projects and camping related, summer fun type of stuff.  It would go well with one of the new sets in the catalog.

I left the box open and cut the little tabs off – I added a piece of designer paper inside and glued it to the open back.  Another piece is glued on the front.  And a third piece was stamped with the bear and then I cut out the stomach and glued it onto the bear image that was stamped on the Crumb Cake card stock.  The bear is added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is the supplies and those that are retiring are marked with an (R).

Stamp set – Under the Stars (R)

Big-Shot Machine, Box #2 Bigz XL Die (R)

Card stock – Real Red 12″ x 12″, Crumb Cake

Ink – Jet Black StazOn

Designer paper – Big Top Birthday (R)

Real Red Satin Ribbon (R)

Have a good day – I’ll be back later with another project.  Oops – I meant to post this Tuesday morning – but it went out Monday night.  So I’ll really be back with another project later on Tuesday.

School Projects

Ryan likes to get creative with his school projects and he has made two different projects these last two weeks.  I took pictures of the one from last week but didn’t get any pictures of the one he turned in today.  I wanted to share the first project with you today – I don’t think he has his grade yet – but if it were me I would give him an A.

His project was for a book (Dante’s Inferno) and his project was about the 9 circles of h*ll.  Ryan likes to go big with his projects and this one ended up as tall as my kitchen counters when it was done.  We talked about ways to show the 9 circles and ultimately he decided to use the idea of the tree in my Advent Shadow Box project but turned upside down with the smallest circle at the bottom and the largest circle at the top.  He built a wood base, spray painted it, created an icicle stencil and spray painted that on the base, added a dowel rod to the center which he drilled holes through so he could add supports for each circle.  Each circle was cut from foam core board and then covered with card stock.  On the various levels he added the information for the project and on some of them he added 3-d elements.

Ryan's completed project

this level has a tornado made out of pipe cleaners - the terrible winds of a violent storm

this level has boulders made out of foam balls

Ryan used various Stampin’ Up! products to complete this project – lots of card stock and multipurpose glue, paper cutter, a craft knife, dimensionals and markers and the white gel pen.

The other project he turned in today looked like a giant Pokemon card – it was supposed to be a scientist trading card.  he again used foam core board and covered it with card stock that had various information on it.  If it comes back home I’ll try to get a picture.  We pulled out the color coach to help find the colors of card stock to match a real Pokemon card.  He went through two snail refills last night and more multipurpose glue.  I better order more of both.  I planned to order another craft knife but it turns out we retired that item from the catalog.

Today’s project is probably not something you’ll ever make but do know that we have lots of products that are useful in school projects – usually it’s the Big Shot and the alphabet dies for titles – but he didn’t use those this time.

Have a great day!

The rest of the countdown activities

I better finish up the countdown activities real quick or it will be too late:

Dec. 23rd – Go caroling in your neighborhood.  Our neighborhood did that last weekend – along with the luminaries.

Dec. 24th – Read Christmas Stories.  We have several books of Christmas Stories.  My kids don’t enjoy stories anymore – teenage boys – but I read them sometimes by myself just for fun.

Dec. 25th – Enjoy Christmas Day with you Family!
