I decided to use the Print Poetry Designer paper Stack to create some of my swap cards for the Baltimore Regional this past weekend. Each card is the same except I changed the papers and colors to match.
I’m busy busy getting ready for my Creative retreat that is this weekend. Lot’s of fun surprises for those that are coming. I’ll share next week here on my blog and will post on Facebook throughout the weekend.
Can you believe that March is about to be here? Where did February go? I think it just went poof! If time flies when you are having fun then I must be having a whole lot of FUN! And today I have a cute little creation to get you all ready for St. Patrick’s Day which will be here any minute. This week at Create with Connie & Mary we were issued a sketch challenge! What to do. What to do. Here is the sketch for this week and once you see my card you will see that you can use this sketch for anything.
I finally decided since March got here so fast if I was going to do a St. Patrick’s Day card I better go ahead and get it done for my Card Maker’s class this week because when I have the next one it will be too late. So that was the direction I went – on a search for ideas for St. Patrick’s Day.

And guess what – I have BONUS Card! Yep I actually made another card with this sketch- using practically the same supplies. Instead of the postage stamp punch I used the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die. And I added a few more colors.
This is my attempt at trying to encourage spring to get here – we are having lots of rain, and I really want the sun, which should bring the flowers and the bees to pollinate everything….come on spring get here faster!

Demonstrator – if you are you can answer yes but otherwise answer no. Next it will ask if you have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – well that’ me – so select that and then fill in my name – MONIKA DAVIS – and WOODSTOCK, GA. Then find me. If it shows me in another state – that is someone else. After you finish you will get an email and you set up a password for your account. If you need to you can come back into your account and make any updates, skip a month or cancel. I love how this ornament turned out. It is similar to the one on the front of the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. I changed the colors and changed the center. I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and stamped the large ornament in Early Espresso and the smaller one in Crumb Cake. For each “petal” of the ornament I used four stamped images that were cut out with the matching Holiday Ornament Framelits. Take 3 of the ornaments and score and fold in half and glue one side to the next folded ornament. Then take that group of three and glue to the fourth ornament (not scored in half) – the fourth one that is flat becomes the back of the petal. I created 5 of the large ones and then arranged them in a circle – use hot glue to glue them together. Then take a bit of the Crumb Cake Tulle and put a little bit between each of those. Create the smaller “petals” the same way and glue those on top of the tulle.
For the center I used a piece of the Early Espresso Tulle. I started with a knot at one end then twisted and wrapped the tulle around that center knot holding it with my fingers. When I was done I put a dab of hot glue in the center of the ornament and stuck the tulle rosette in. Finally I added the Vintage Faceted Button (with the linen thread tied through) to the center of my rosette. Punch a small hole in one petal and add some linen thread to create a hanger.
It is really pretty in person. I made a different ornament that coordinates and I’ll post it later this week. Have a great day!
It’s a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. And for this week I made a celebration card!
This week we are working with a color Challenge –
This was a quick card that just kind of popped out of nowhere.
I think I still have the single stamps on my mind. I used another one this week – the Celebrate image from the Seasonal Sayings set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. From there I started adding layers. Then I thought it needed a spritz of color – so I took out the color spritzer tool and added some spritz. Which then made me think it kind of look like it could be fireworks. So I think this would be really cute as a red, white and blue card but since it isn’t the colors that I was working with this is maybe a birthday celebration card or for some milestone or accomplishment.
I added the stamped/punched stars and then got the bright idea to add the frayed ribbon to make it look like shooting stars! So lets celebrate and go create!
