Feb 6, 2013 | Designer Series Paper, Spring Catalog 2013, Stamper's Club, Valentine's Day |
I found this cute idea on the internet on the glue dots website. These are really easy to put together with strips of designer paper – and perfect for those that like to see both sides of the paper. Hanging hearts…

I used the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.
- Cut 1″ wide strips – you need two 4″, two 6″, and two 8″ plus a 6″ strip for the center – on the left heart I used card stock and on the right heart I used another piece of the designer paper.
Lay the strips out as shown in the photo – the 6″ single piece is in the center, then the 4″ on either side, 6″ on either side and 8″ on either side.- I used Sticky Strip to glue the bottom end together – now pay attention to the patterns on the paper – you can either have the same design on either side facing out or do them opposite (mine have one done each way) – and also look if the pattern has an up and down design – like hearts and decide how they will look as either the outside or inside will be upside down.
Now add a little piece of sticky strip to each of the other ends and start with the inside strip (the 4″ ones) and curl them in toward the center strip and attach to form a heart. Then do the same with the 6″ strips and then the 8″ strips. Forming a heart around the smaller one you just made. You can change the hearts based upon where you attach the ends on the center strip.
To finish I punched a hole in the top of the center strip and added some Baker’s Twine as a hanger.- Put some Baker’s Twine through a button and add to the bottom of the heart. I used Pool Party twine and the Pool Party button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack – free during Sale-A-Bration.
- Make a bunch and string together to make a garland and hang it up for Valentine’s day.

We made one of these at my Stamper’s Club meeting as a little bonus project. It was a last minute project that I put together for them.

Jan 23, 2013 | Cards, Demonstrator, Designer Series Paper, Mini - Love Notes, Sale-A-Bration 2013, Spring Catalog 2013 |
This quick little box is made from one piece of card stock and doesn’t need any adhesive – just a belly band to hold it shut. Fill it with some cute little matching Love Notes and you have a perfect little gift for someone sweet!

These are both based on ideas that I saw at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference. The box was an on stage demonstration and I think the little cards were too – but I’m not sure they were shown together – since my photos have them in different colors – I did combine the ideas for this project that I used in my team meeting this past weekend. We had lots of fun sharing both creative and business ideas and things that we learned at Leadership. Right now is a great time to join my team – during Sale-A-Bration you can choose $156.50 worth of products for your starter kit for only $99! And the kit is fully customizable so you can choose any items you want from the current catalogs! If you would like to learn more about this opportunity let me know – email me at [email protected] or check out more details on my website.
So back to this cute project – you start with a 7-1/2″ square and then use the Simply Scored Tool with the Diagonal Score Plate (you can get that FREE during Sale-A-Bration) – and score all four sides diagonally at 2-1/4″ and 3-1/2″.

Then you will do some cutting away of the little sections on each side.

Then you just fold it up to form the box. I cut a strip of Rich Razzleberry Designer Paper to go around it for a belly band – it just slides on and off. That is what holds the box shut.

Decorating the box was pretty quick –
- I stamped on the box with a couple of images from the Oh Hello stamp set
- Wrapped the strip of Designer Paper around it and glued the ends together.
- Then wrap the Linen Thread around it and tie in a bow.
- Slide the belly band off and add the Designer Builder Brad, then slide it back on.
- To make the Builder Brad – stamp an image from the Itty Bitties stamp set on card stock and punch out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack. Use a mini glue dot to attach to the Builder Brad. Then cover with the epoxy bubble that comes with the brad.
The box holds some Love Notes – which are little 3×3″ cards. I made mine out of Whisper White card stock and included matching white envelopes – they are the mini square ones in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. We made two designs at our meeting.

- The little Love Notes are made from Whisper White card stock
- Emboss the front edge with the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder.
Then stamp the words in Old Olive and the images in Rich Razzleberry- Finish the Love Note by tying a piece of Linen Thread around.
- Stamp the envelopes to match.
A fun little project – I hope you like it. The stamp set is the Oh Hello stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog. If you would like to order any of the products that I used to make this project please visit my online store on my website. Here is a full list of supplies for you.

Jan 17, 2013 | Big Shot, Cards, class, Create with Connie & Mary, Designer Series Paper, Sale-A-Bration 2013, Spring Catalog 2013 |
Look at the options you have with one sketch and one stamp set! It’s a sketch challenge from Create with Connie & Mary . Combine that with the cute Patterned Occasions stamp set in the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration brochure.

I saw a cute card idea last week while I was out of town that my demonstrator friend Selene Kempton posted on her FB page. I was planning to use that idea for classes that I had this week (yesterday actually). And as I looked at the sketch for this week I decided to merge the two ideas together. And then wanted to show my classes how they could exchange the image for any image in the stamp set – giving them multiple options and allowing everyone to create a card for whatever occasion they needed. Here is my card – I actually turned the sketch again.

Here are some details on this card and then I’ll show you the other images.
- card base is Sahara Sand
- A layer of Island Indigo that was run through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder
- A strip of Sycamore Street Designer Series paper – I love those dots! – cut into a flag
- Tied some Island Indigo Baker’s Twine around the layer and tied it in a bow
- Stamp the jeans image on Whisper White card stock and punch out with the 1-3/4″ Circle punch
- To dress up the jeans pierce a hole on either side at the waist and tie a bit of Baker’s Twine to create a belt!
- Punch a Decorative Label punch from Tangerine Tango card stock. Layer behind the circle and add to the front of the card.
I love the little belt! That was my favorite idea from Selene’s Card. Now these are the other images from the Patterned Occasions stamp set and what I did with them – just switch these out on the front of the card and you have a variety of options.

On these I added either a little punched heart or the little flower. Now you have a birthday, thank you, get well and a love you card. This gave everyone the option to make the card that they wanted.
Visit the Create with Connie & Mary site to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to submit your own creation for this new challenge. I hope you are having a good week. Mine has been busy since I returned from Leadership and I still have lots to share. Unfortunately our weather here is yucky! I came home from sunny Florida to rain and it hasn’t stopped in 4 days! And tonight we could have snow/ice – we can hope it will be snow but more likely it will be ice – which won’t be good for Friday!

Jan 14, 2013 | Big Shot, Designer Series Paper, Sale-A-Bration 2013, Stampin' Up! Events, SU Buttons |
I made these cute little gifts for my friends at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference. Decorated clothespins and a little paper treat bag. Cute and fun to make!

This is a great project that uses recycled paper – it’s the paper we get in our Stampin’ Up! Order boxes but you could use other brown paper. The paper is cut with the Petite Pocket Die and the Big Shot Die-cut Machine.

Here are some of the things I used to make this little treat –
- stamp set – Flowering Flourishes – stamped in Summer Starfruit on the brown paper after it was cut
- stamp set – Perfect Punches – stamped on Rich Razzleberry card stock
- punch out with Curly Label punch
- add a little Summer Starfruit flower punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack flower and a Silver Mini brad
- cover the clothes pin with Sycamore Street Designer Series paper
- add a button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button pack that has some Whisper White Baker’s Twine tied through it
Inside these sweet little pockets was a piece of chocolate. I gave these to my friends as I found them at the Leadership conference. I hope they all liked the sweet little treat. The Sycamore Street items will be available for free during Sale-A-Bration starting Jan. 22nd.
If you would like to buy any of these products you can shop at my online store on my website – www.monika.stampinup.net
We heard lots of exciting things at the Leadership Conference about all kinds of fun things that Stampin’ Up! has planned for this year. I’ll be sharing those throughout the week – some are already on my Facebook page – Stamping Together at Monika’s Place – so be sure to go like my page and you can see some of them there.

I love to Create with new stuff! How about you? Well guess what for this week’s Create with Connie & Mary challenge I have a sneak peek for you with new products from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog! This week was a sketch challenge so I could use whatever colors I wanted for my card. And I decided to go with one of the new Designer Papers – Tea for Two. And it has lots of colors – Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, So Saffron and Very Vanilla were the ones I decided to work with. First this is the sketch we are working with this week.
