Rainbow swaps

I made these cards to swap at the Stampin’ Up! Baltimore Regional this past weekend.  I love the clean simple design of these.  I wish I had taken a picture of the full rainbow of cards but I did not – sigh.   Luckily I got a couple of photos though.

I made a whole rainbow of these and they would actually make a really fun set of cards.  Now I think I may need to make some more.  Let’s see I had Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Marina Mist and Rich Razzleberry.

And you know what I didn’t even save one for myself now that I think about it.  I will have to make some more of these.  Here is what I used to make each card –

  • card base in one of the rainbow colors – 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4″ – fold in half
  • Whisper White layer – 5-1/4 x 4 – stamp “hey there friend” in the lower right corner in the same color as the base.
  • Punch a Itty Bitty Flower using the Itty Bitty Punch pack in the same color.
  • Pierce a hole through the center of the flower and through the Whisper White layer next to the words and insert a mini silver brad.  Curl up the flower around the brad.
  • Add a strip of designer series paper from the Polka Dot Parade pack in the same color to the left side of the Whisper White layer.
  • Tie a piece of Whisper White Baker’s twine around and tie in a bow.
  • Glue the Whisper White layer to the card base.

Do you know where the stamp came from?  It is one of the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin Welcome kit – isn’t it great?  If you don’t have it and you want it then you need to join Paper Pumpkin – its easy click here to learn how – and you will get it in your first kit.  Our surprise April Kits are on the way – I hope it gets here this week before my Creative Retreat is over so I can show everyone that’s here the newest monthly kit!

Have a nice Spring day today!

Live in the Sunshine Scrapbook Layout

ryan-scrapbook-layout

These turned out to be the perfect pictures for this scrapbook layout I created earlier this year.  I made the layout for a scrapbook swap that I participated in at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference.  I really love this layout but it has lots of pieces!  And after making 10 of them for the swap – I was ready to put it away for a while.  This weekend though I pulled it back out and while I was looking through some pictures I found these that I took of Ryan last Easter in 2012.  Ryan is stylin’ the long hair and he has some beautiful eyes – he often gets comments about his eyes and I was lucky enough to get these pictures of him – he was “modeling” for me – it rarely happens – and then I got a candid shot where you can really see his eyes.  I had hoped to get some good pictures this year at our Easter gathering but mother nature didn’t really cooperate and it rained on and off all after noon.

Here are some close ups and a few details on what I used on the layout –

Several of the products are from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog –

  • Bitty Butterfly punch
  • Print Poetry Designer Paper Stack
  • Natural 7/16″ Trim Ribbon
  • Collage Curios stamp set

Yikes – its the last day of Sale-A-Bration at Stampin’ Up!  There are only a few more hours left to place and order and get free product!  So Hurry – my online store is open – www.monika.stampinup.net

I’ve got a fun Scrapbook layout to share with you using lots of free Sale-A-Bration product – the Sycamore Street Bundle – which include the Madison Avenue stamp set, Sycamore Street Designer Paper and Ribbon and Button bundle – these were all free for $400+ workshop hostesses.  Plus the Vine street embossing folder.

Sale-A-Bration-Scrapbook

This layout was one that we made in my February Scrapbook class.  It’s a layout that’s all ready for some fun photos!

I’ve been behind with sharing scrapbook layouts so I’ll try to catch up on that this week.  This morning I had a fun class as we made two new layouts.

I didn’t have a chance to share yesterday but I have another update on the bluebirds – yesterday came Egg #5 –

eggs-5

I have had a lot of people ask how am I getting these pictures and where is the nest.  The nest is inside a bird house in my backyard.  The front of the house opens so I wait until the birds leave and then I open it to look inside.  I have been using my iphone to take these pictures – I just stick it inside and click.  Then I close up the house and mom and dad come back.

Now though she will be incubating the eggs and won’t be leaving the nest much.  Today I noticed both the male and female in the yard most of the day – they sat on my porch and on the feeders a lot today (the feeders were empty so I filled them this afternoon).  The incubation is 12-14 days – so now we start counting – today is day 1.  So we should have babies hatching around April 2-4.  Once they hatch I’ll get more time to peek in again as mom and dad will spend most of the day getting food for those babies.   I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for coming by today!

Easy Desktop Calendar

This is an easy Desktop Calendar project that I made earlier this year.  My Digital Studio makes it easy to create the 12 month calendar to print at home.

desktop-calendar

After creating the calender in My Digital Studio – I printed it on Whisper White card stock and trimmed it down.  Then layered it on Calypso Coral and So Saffron card stock.  And then to a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Lucky Limeade card stock.

I decorated the top with a piece of Tea for two designer paper, some Calypso Coral ribbon from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack from Sale-A-Bration.  And finished it with some punched butterflies and a Lucky Limeade brad.

desktop-calendar-2

The base of the calendar is a normal size card – 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 5-1/2″ and then score a second time on one side at 2-3/4 – this creates the mountain fold that you attach the calendar too.  On the bottom of the card I added a piece of Tea for Two designer series paper and then the stack of Post it Notes.  The great thing about the size of this calendar is that you can fold it flat and it fits in the medium envelope.  Well if your stack of post it notes is really thick it might not fit.

Have a great day!

Playing Dress Up!

Stampin’ Up! now has dresses!  Paper dresses that is!  The new All Dressed Up collection is all ready for you to play.

dresses

I used the Dress Up Framelits from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog to create these cute little dresses.  This Saturday I’m going to have a vendor table at the BUMC Scrapbook Crop and if you plan to attend be sure to stop by so you can make your very own cute little dress!  I’ll have these available as Make&Takes at my table.

I used various Designer Series papers to create them – just cut the paper with the framelits.  For the dress form I just cut it out of Crumb Cake card stock.  Then I just decorated them in slightly different ways – the ones shown in this picture used the following to dress them up

  • Basic Rhinestone Jewels
  • Basic Pearls
  • Baker’s Twine
  • Seam Binding
  • 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon
  • 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Itty Bitty Punch Shapes
  • Mini Silver Brads
  • Satiny Ribbon from the Sycamore Street pack

These are just a few ways to dress these up – there are many other things you could do.  Fun!

Which one is your favorite?  Mine is the Pool Party dress.

Heart #13 – More Amore Scrapbook Layout

We are quickly closing in on Valentine’s Day and if you happen to take photos on that day or any other day and want to scrapbook the photos of the ones you love here is the perfect layout for that.  Using the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Hearts A Flutter Stamp set and framelits – all from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.

Valentine-Scrapbook-Layout-

We made this fun layout at my scrapbook class last month.  It’s full of hearts of all shapes, sizes and patterns.  Let’s take a closer look at everything I used –

  • The bases of this layout is Basic Gray – this is a two-page 12″ x 12″ layout
  • On either side is a strip of Real Red card stock that was die cut on one edge with the Finishing Touches Edgelit Die and then layered with a strip from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper
  • Tucked in on either side are Very Vanilla and Pool Party card stock that has been cut with the Labels Collection Framelit Dies – I actually used the same size die for both colors and just off set them to show the layers.
  • valentine-page-detailThe banner is made from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and the pieces cut with the Hearts a Flutter framelits – these can be purchased as a bundle (15% savings).  The colors are Pool Party, Primrose Petals and Real Red.  The banner is accented with a laser cut heart from the More Amore Specialty paper and a button from the Sycamore Street ribbon and button pack (you can earn this for free during Sale-A-Bration).  I used the Pool Party Baker’s Twine to string everything together.
  • valentine-page-bannerThe photo mats are Very Vanilla – but you could completely replace those with photos, or use them as mats.
  • Along the bottom of the photo mats are lots of hearts – punched with the Full Heart and Small Heart punch and die cut with the heart from the Hearts a Flutter framelits.  A few stamped ones are sprinkled in and another laser cut heart.
  • valentine-page-detail-2For the title I added the Love you stamp from Seasonal Sayings – this set was originally in the Holiday Mini catalog but it was carried over into the spring catalog – did you notice there is a full page of carry-over items all listed in the back of the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.   This was cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelit die set and then a Pool Party Label framelit is layered behind it.
  • Now add the photos!

Come back tomorrow for the last of the 14 hearts! If you would like to order of the products that I used visit my online store on my website – www.monika.stampinup.net – or contact me to place an order for you.  If you are local to me I will have a table at the Bascomb United Methodist Scrapbook Crop on March 2nd and have scrapbook layouts and kits available for sale.
