Washi Pocket and Clip

washi-pocketTwo more Washi Tape projects today.  First a pocket or maybe I should call it a pouch – made from two pieces of Vellum card stock and then close up three sides with the Washi Tape – I used the Gingham Garden washi tape.

I added a little tag using the Label Loves stamp set and matching Artisan Label punch.

Then the clip – just a regular wooden clothespin for the clip – covered with Washi Tape – the floral print happens to be the same width as the clothespin – perfect!  To decorate it up a bit I added a Vintage Faceted button tied with some Linen Thread.  Use the clip to hold the pouch shut.

And the pouch ( or pocket) is the perfect size for the mini note cards I showed yesterday.

washi-pocket-notes

These could be used for a his & hers gift – a gift card for her and one for him in each of the little mini notes and then put them both in the pouch and close it up with the clip (add a magnet to the back if you want to use it on the fridge later).

That makes 4 projects from the Washi Tape class – I never actually counted how many different things we made – I just know it was a lot.  Be sure to keep coming back so you can see them all.

New Possibilities for Clearance Items

You can now add clearance item to any order – including workshop, class and club orders.  We still strongly recommend that customers order clearance items on online orders or workshop orders via a hostess code to guarantee availability.  Because clearance items are only available while supplies last, it’s possible that the item will not be available when the order is actually submitted, making it necessary for me to contact you so that you can find an alternate item or risk possibly affecting the hostess benefits.

New Color Markers

In the 2013-2014 annual catalog, we offer the Stampin’ Write Marker New Color Kit (item 130034, page 163) to help you update your Many Marvelous Marker pack. Now, we’ve sweetened the deal. For a limited time, from June 26 until October 31, you can buy any of the new colors in the pack or on their own! Go ahead, fill in the missing pieces in your collection or buy the whole lot. Individual markers available in Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder.

Well – I think that is enough new information for one post.  If you have a question about anything or would like to order just let me know.

Heart #5 – Chalkboard Frame

Did you love the cute Chalkboard Frame on page 11 of the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog?  I did and I tried to recreate something like it for my Hands on Class last month.  The frame isn’t as fancy –

hearts-a-flutter-frame

And my original plan was to have an actual chalkboard in the frame to write on.  I planned to take the glass from the frame and cover it with chalkboard paint – well that plan didn’t quite work out for my class – I didn’t realize how long the paint needed to dry between coats and I needed several coats on the glass – so I’ve got two coats on the glass pieces now but they aren’t as smooth as I would like so I think I need to add one more coat with a roller probably – I’ll work on that this week.  Anyway for the class I went with plan B (it’s good to have a plan B and sometimes plan C).  Here are the details on the project the way we made it in class –

  • On a piece of Basic Black card stock stamp the quote in VersaMark ink and emboss with white embossing powder.  I let everyone choose their own quote – we used the Pursuit of Happiness set and also Word Play (You’re in My thoughts, you’re in my heart”
  • Layer the black on a Piece of Pool Party card stock
  • stamped the images from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and cut them out with the Hearts a Flutter framelits – colors are Primrose Petals, Pool Party and Basic Gray
  • strung all the pieces on Whisper White Baker’s twine and added to the card stock before putting it in the frame.
  • added a Vintage Faceted button and a Rhinestone for decoration

If my chalkboard glass works out – I’ll re-post with what that looks like.

Plus for February Stampin’ Up! has released a new stamp set, designer paper and a digital kit called – Sent with Love – it has the AIRMAIL feel to it – I remember getting mail in those red/blue envelopes from our family in Germany when I was little – I don’t know that they still have those envelopes but I guess a long time ago maybe you had to use those.

You can order the Sent with Love items and the items for the project above (well not the frame) from my online store – just visit my website www.monika.stampinup.net and click on the SHOP NOW button.  The online store is open 24/7 – so shop all night, in your PJs, or any time you want.

Create with Patterned Occasions

Look at the options you have with one sketch and one stamp set!  It’s a sketch challenge from Create with Connie & Mary . Combine that with the cute Patterned Occasions stamp set in the 2013 Stampin’ Up!  Sale-A-Bration brochure.

2012 Create Thursday-015

I saw a cute card idea last week while I was out of town that my demonstrator friend Selene Kempton posted on her FB page.  I was planning to use that idea for classes that I had this week (yesterday actually).  And as I looked at the sketch for this week I decided to merge the two ideas together.  And then wanted to show my classes how they could exchange the image for any image in the stamp set – giving them multiple options and allowing everyone to create a card for whatever occasion they needed.  Here is my card – I actually turned the sketch again.

ccmc235-monika

Here are some details on this card and then I’ll show you the other images.

  • card base is Sahara Sand
  • A layer of Island Indigo that was run through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder
  • A strip of Sycamore Street Designer Series paper – I love those dots! – cut into a flag
  • Tied some Island Indigo Baker’s Twine around the layer and tied it in a bow
  • Stamp the jeans image on Whisper White card stock and punch out with the 1-3/4″ Circle punch
  • To dress up the jeans pierce a hole on either side at the waist and tie a bit of Baker’s Twine to create a belt!
  • Punch a Decorative Label punch from Tangerine Tango card stock.  Layer behind the circle and add to the front of the card.

I love the little belt!  That was my favorite idea from Selene’s Card.  Now these are the other images from the Patterned Occasions stamp set and what I did with them – just switch these out on the front of the card and you have a variety of options.

ccmc235-monika-images

On these I added either a little punched heart or the little flower.  Now you have a birthday, thank you, get well and a love you card.  This gave everyone the option to make the card that they wanted.

Visit the Create with Connie & Mary site to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to submit your own creation for this new challenge.  I hope you are having a good week.  Mine has been busy since I returned from Leadership and I still have lots to share.  Unfortunately our weather here is yucky!  I came home from sunny Florida to rain and it hasn’t stopped in 4 days!  And tonight we could have snow/ice – we can hope it will be snow but more likely it will be ice – which won’t be good for Friday!

circle-tags

I saw on Pinterest a photo of some stickers and thought I bet I can make those with my punches and dies and they would be so super cute.  I stayed up late one night finishing these cute things because once I got started I was so excited with how they were turning out.  I have one more that I want to create but haven’t had a chance to sit down yet to do it.  And guess what I created a tutorial to share with everyone!  Merry Christmas from me to you!  The link will be at the bottom of the post.  Here are some close up pictures for each tags.
