Apr 27, 2020 | 12 Cards of Christmas, Cards, Christmas |
So I’m a little behind. March just kind of blew up with all this virus mess. Which means I’m only on card 3 of my 12 Cards of Christmas. But I’ll catch up at some point. I’m continuing with my plan to get ahead on Christmas cards for December. If you want to read more or see card 1 – go here. And if you want to see card 2 – go here. This is card 3 and I used the brand new Ornate Garden Suite! Yep I turned that flower filled suite into a Christmas card and I hope you like it.

For this Christmas Card I wanted to try using the Ornate Garden Suite and the designer series paper with the gold foil in it. In order to make it a Christmas Card I paired it up with the Merry Christmas to All stamp set. Everything I used on this card is current – but the Christmas stamp set I used is on the Last Chance list so grab it before it’s gone. And the Ornate Garden Suite is an early release from the new catalog so you can order that now too.
How I made it
The card base is Thick Whisper White with an Old Olive Layer that was embossed with the new Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Gold Foil that I cut with the new Ornate Layers Dies. I cut a piece of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series paper to fit just inside the ornate frame piece.
The words are stamped on a piece of Whisper White that was die cut with the So Sweetly Stitched Dies. I stamped 3 flowers from the Ornate Style stamp set. And colored those with Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler – then fussy cut them with my Paper Snips. I also cut some Gold Foil paper with one of the border dies in the Ornate Border Die set and used the delicate negative leaves to tuck under my flowers. The flower centers are the Gilded Gems from the new suite. You can order all the products that I used for this card in my online store – the supply list is below.

Feb 18, 2020 | 12 Cards of Christmas, 2020 Mini catalog, Cards, Christmas, Sale-a-Bration 2020 |
Remember in January I had a plan to design and make a Christmas card each month for the whole year. It’s my plan to get ahead on Christmas cards for December. If you want to read more or see card 1 – go here. I’ve got two months done. So I wanted to share my February card with you.

This card idea is actually from a swap card that I created using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set that is part of our Sale-A-Bration promotion. I created a thank you card that has been very well loved, so I thought I can turn that idea into a Christmas card by changing up the colors. And adding a different set for the sentiment. Everything I used on this card is current – so if you don’t have it you can order it and make this card too. I gathered up all my supplies, worked on all my pieces, and then sat and assembled everything – including stamping the inside of the card and a matching envelope.
How I made it
The card base is Early Espresso with a white layer that was cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I stamped the stem/leaf image in Mossy Meadow ink. And then added flowers and berries in Merry Merlot. I used the Small Bloom punch to punch out flowers from Merry Merlot card stock and stacked two together to make a flower. To give the flower some curvature I like to put it on a Stampin’ Pierce mat and burnish the center with a stylus from the Take Your Pick tool – just roll it around in the center of each flower until they start to curl.
Under the flower is a vellum circle – punched with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. And in the center of the flower is a Basic Rhinestone. To finish I tied a little bow with some Mossy Meadow twine from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack. Celebrate the Season is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set that carried over from the Holiday catalog. You can order all the products that I used for this card in my online store – the supply list is below.

Supply List
- #152290 Thoughtful Blooms stamp set (free with a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration 2020)
- #152316 Small Bloom Punch (free with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration 2020 – and it may also be available in the 20-21 Annual catalog)
- #150513 Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set
- #151690 Stitched So Sweetly Dies
- #143720 2-1/4″ Circle Punch
- #119686 Early Espresso card stock
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #146979 Merry Merlot card stock
- #101856 Vellum card stock
- #107301 Medium Whisper White envelopes

Or if you have the basics like ink, card stock and adhesive then get the stamp set for free and use another stamp or die to create a flower. Jan 15, 2020 | 12 Cards of Christmas, 2019 Holiday Catalog, Cards, Christmas, Watercoloring |
So Christmas came and went and I thought I was prepared for all the cards I wanted to mail out. I was wrong. This year I mailed out about 120 cards just before Christmas – short of the 170 on my list. I told myself that I had to come up with a new system. So I spent a while trying to figure out how to tackle making all my cards. Normally I start creating Christmas cards late in the fall just before the holidays start. I’ve never been a Christmas in July person. But this year I’m trying something new – making Christmas cards all year long!
Here is my plan:
One day each month I’ll design, cut, stamp, and assemble a set of Christmas cards. If I plan to make 12 cards (one design) each month, in December that would give me 144 cards. Then I’ll add the normal cards from my classes leading up to the holidays. So each month I’ll share my card and if you’d like to join me in this card challenge you can copy my card or create your own. Let me know how many you are making. Let’s start with January’s card.

This card I cased from another demonstrator – Ashley VanCamp. I had saved her version and decided to tweak it for my 12 Cards of Christmas project. I wanted to stick to current products. And yes everything I used on this card is current – so if you don’t have it you can order it and make this card too. I gathered up all my supplies, worked on all my pieces, and then sat and assembled everything – including stamping the inside of the card and a matching envelope.

The front layer is Shimmery White card stock. I started by using my Aqua-painter filled with water and getting the front wet. Then came back with the Aqua-painter loaded with Balmy Blue ink and water colored the background. To speed up the drying I used my heat tool. I stamped Shaded Spruce trees from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp set. Those were punched with the Pine Tree Punch and a vellum tree and a white tree. Using the Word Wishes dies, I cut “Merry” out of Gold Foil. Christmas comes from the A Wish For Everything stamp set – stamped on a scrap of white and I just cut straight around the word. The card is finished with Linen Thread and Gold Metallic Pearls. You can order all the products that I used for this card in my online store – the supply list is below.

Supply List
- #149418 Perfectly Plaid stamp set
- #149521 Pine Tree Punch
- #149320 A Wish For Everything stamp set (available as a bundle)
- #149629 Word Wishes Dies (available as a bundle)
- #146982 Balmy Blue card stock
- #100730 Whisper White card stock
- #101910 Shimmery White card stock
- #101856 Vellum card stock
- #132622 Gold Foil Sheets
- #107301 Medium Whisper White envelopes
- #147088 Shaded Spruce classic ink
- #147168 Balmy Blue classic ink refill

Dec 22, 2018 | 2018 Holiday Catalog, Big Shot, Christmas, class |
Did you know you can make plaid deer? Use the Buffalo Check background stamp. And good news – it’s one of the stamp sets that will be carrying over from the Holiday catalog into the new year. Yay! Check out these quick little treats…

I folded some card stock – measure the bottom to fit the width of what you are putting inside and add a flap at the top to fold over the front. I punched two holes and tied the braided linen thread through. The top flap has been stamped with Buffalo Plaid stamp and so have the deer die cuts. Aren’t they cute? Even though it looks like black I actually used Basic Gray for all of the stamping.
Supply List
- Buffalo Check stamp
- Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies
- Christmas Pines stamp set
- Thick Whisper White Card Stock
- Real Red card stock
- Basic Gray ink
- Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker
- Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker
- Metallic Pearls
- Braided Linen Trim
- 1/8″ Handheld punch
- Stampin’ Trimmer
- Stamparatus
- Big Shot Die Cut Machine
In case you are wondering what is inside mine – well it’s Walker’s Shortbread Fingers. They are packaged in a plaid wrapper and coordinated perfectly with this project. I was able to find some at Tuesday Morning.
Merry Christmas to You!
