Just Believe & Games to play

I just love this new Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Just Believe (pg.109) and I was very excited to know we were getting it in our Convention Bags this year.  I have seen tons of beautiful projects with this stamp set.  There is a card in the catalog on page 71 that pops out at me when I look through the catalog – but I don’t have that particular stamp set so I decided instead to use the layout and colors with the Just Believe stamp set and here is the result:

I was happy with how it turned out. This was the first time I have used my Scallop Oval Frame die – I did figure out that there is a difference between each end of the oval so for this card I had to make sure the scallop frame was in the same direction as the white inside so they matched up perfectly.  I used a technique with this set that I’m not sure what to call it – it probably has a name.  Basically you ink the entire image with the Wild Wasabi ink pad and then use a Blender Pen to remove the ink from the flowers.  Then add color back to the flowers with a marker.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Card stock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade,Whisper White
  • Ink: Wild Wasabi ink pad and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker
  • Stamp sets: Just Believe
  • Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Oval Scallop Frame Die
  • Modern Label punch
  • Bold Brights Brads, Basic Pearls
  • White Gel Pen, Stampin’ Sponges, Blender Pens, paper piercer

Ribbon and Designer Paper Shares

The new Stampin’ Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog is here!

And with the introduction of the new catalog I’ll be doing ribbon and paper shares again.  Everyone keeps asking so here are the details for July.

July Designer Series Paper Share

Would you like a sample of the new Designer papers in the catalog?  Participating in a paper share allows you to get a sample of every print in each pack so that you can see them all in real life.  Then choose your favorites and order a full pack later.  This paper share will include a 6” x 6” piece of each pattern in the 15 new Designer Series Papers that are in the Stampin’ Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.  Each share is $23 pre-paid by July 15th.  I’ll place the orders in groups of 8 as they are filled.  If you need your share mailed to you shipping will be extra.

You can see all the patterns in the new catalog or in my online store on my website.  Here is a list of what is included in this share:

  • Sweet & Sour Specialty (gloss on one side)
  • Nursery Suite Specialty (includes die cut papers)
  • Wicked Fun Specialty (includes black flocked papers)
  • Greenhouse Gala
  • Woodland Park
  • Love Letter
  • Celebrations
  • Jolly Holiday
  • Lap of Luxury
  • Sunny Garden
  • Blueberry Crisp
  • Newsprint
  • Build-a-Bear Workshop Pawsitively Prints II
  • Elegant Soiree
  • Play Date

July Ribbon Share

Most of our ribbons come in either 10 yard or 15 yard rolls and not everyone wants that much of one ribbon.  Participating in a ribbon share allows you to have a smaller amount of each ribbon.  I will have one ribbon share each month for the next several months.  This month we will feature the 1/2” Stitched-Poly Ribbon in the new In-Colors – Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, and Pear Pizzazz.  This unique ribbon has stitched edges to give your projects an eclectic look.  Each share will include approximately 3 yards of ribbon in each of the five colors.  The cost of the share is $10.50 prepaid by July 15th.  If you need your share mailed to you shipping will be extra.

Let me know if you would like to participate in either or both of these shares.

Build-a-Bear Color Match Game

Today is the day that the December issue of the Stampin’ Success magazine will be online and begin mailing.  I can’t wait to see it – why?  Because I should be in it! If you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator you will receive the magazine so look for me!  I can only think of one other time I was in a publication and it was our Annual Report for the company that I last worked for – but my picture showed the back of my head because the photographer liked my hair – so you couldn’t even tell it was me…anyway…..

I sent in my Build-a-Bear idea for thecmg-bears October contest (so I think I sent in actually in September) and it is getting published in the December issue as the winning entry for the Kidding Around contest.  I took my sleeping bag idea and turnecmg-instructionsd it into a Color Match Game for kids.  I made a sleeping bag using each of the colors in the Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper – “Green”, “Orange”, “Pink”, “Blue”, and “Yellow”.  Then I made a Build-a-Bear with matching pajamas for each sleeping bag.  I decorated one of the skinny tins that Stampin’ Up! has for sale in the clearance section of the online store.  The sleeping bags and bears fit inside.  I used My Digital Studio to create the instruction sheet that I attached inside the lid.   I don’t know what photos they will have in the magazine but here are the ones I took before I mailed it away.

I’m working on writing the instructions for the project.  So I’ll post that when I have those ready.  It was very exciting to win the contest and then have a phone interview.  I was very nervous and I think I babbled on about who knows what.  I’ll try to post the article here…

Ok I think I figured out how to get it copied out of the magazine so I can include here.

Here is the little article:

And in the same issue is a write-up on my upline Wendy Randall – a full page article!   And we got our first peek at the new Occasions Mini catalog – with NEW products!! And the new Sale-A-Bration catalog – you’ll want them all! And new Decor Elements too!  Oh my goodness I can’t believe they keep coming up with all these new things that I just have to have.

The dates for the Occasions Mini catalog are Jan 5, 2010 – April 30, 2010 and Sale-A-Bration will be Jan 5, 2010 – March 31, 2010.

Thanks for stopping by today – this is so exciting!

Busy Day….

It is a busy day – so just a quick note…..

I’m working on:

  • updating my blog with the new Holiday Mini Catalog links
  • getting my September Newsletter together
  • finishing the August Class to Go kits
  • getting out the August WOW Scrapbook kits
  • posting the new September WOW Scrapbook kits
  • creating a “Graduation” scrapbook class – create a scrapbook for your child that highlights their school years – Kindergarten – 12th grade
  • and more…

I was working last night in the craft room – creating projects for the sweet treats class later this month and had one of those light bulb moments for an idea for the Build-A-Bears – at midnight I was trying to get my idea out but it was just too late and I had to go to bed.  Now I’ve been so busy I haven’t gotten back to it – but I think I want to send it in to one of the Stampin’ Up! contests so I may not show it yet…..

And BIG ANNOUNCEMENT from Stampin’ Up! today:

CREATIVITY WITH STAMPIN’ UP!® GOES DIGITAL—INTRODUCING MY DIGITAL STUDIO™

Stampin’ Up!’s award-winning artwork, colors, and accessories available in digital format via My Digital Studio

MDS_Landing2-01

My Digital Studio is shown in the Holiday Mini Catalog and will be available for everyone to order beginning October 1, 2009.

My Digital Studio is new software from Stampin’ Up! that allows both demonstrators and customers to digitally create a variety of products including (but not limited to) photo albums, cards, calendars, individual scrapbook pages, and multimedia projects that use exclusive Stampin’ Up! art, accessories, and colors. When printed with Stampin’ Up!’s professional print services, your projects can be combined with traditional Stampin’ Up! products to create unique, multidimensional “hybrid” projects.

There is so much going on today (I have lots of new information to read on the Demonstrator website) – I just can’t get everything else done…..have an awesome day!

Medallion Background Stamp

At convention they told us that the most popular stamp set from the new catalog is the Medallion background stamp.  It is a single stamp for $17.95 and is part of Shelli’s signature collection.  medallion This blue card is my version of the card that Natalie Travis designed for our shoebox swap.  The reason I say it is my version is that I kind-of-sort-of didn’t exactly follow the directions – not once but twice – so I did use both sides on my card stock.  Not that it was that big a deal – she had her medallion on the top left corner of the card and the words on the bottom right and mine is the opposite.  I was just thinking backwards that day…..

medallion2This Dusty Durango card is another swap card I received but there is no name on the back so I don’t know who made it.  And now that all of my swaps are together in one basket I’m not even sure where I got it from – it could be from the Shoebox Swap or the STARZ meeting Swap or just from general swapping.  I thought it was very pretty in the earth tone colors.

Have a great weekend.
