Vintage Scrapbook Page

I’m continuing with the 52 weeks of stress free scrapbooking – and I have week 4 finished – that means 48 more to go…

I love how this one turned out. On the 52 weeks blog – Janna actually had two layouts – this was the alternate layout and I turned it on it’s side.  And used all Stampin’ Up! product to create my version.

I have never made a black & white page – I added one color – a combination of So Saffron/Crushed Curry.  The photo is my grandmother that died before I was born so I never knew her.  It is an old photo from 1930 – so it is black & white with the yellowing of a vintage photo so I decided the So Saffron would work well with it.

The base is a piece of 12 x 12 Basic Black card stock.  I stamped it with the large swirl image from the Baroque Motifs stamp set using VersaMark ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The other black panel is created the same way.  I used some of the Night & Day Designer Series Paper was in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog (now you can get it as a Digital Download for My Digital Studio).  I add a few strips of So Saffron card stock and create the edging with the new Scallop Trim Border Punch (you can get it FREE with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration order).  The patterned paper layered behind the photo and the title at the bottom is the Crushed Curry print from the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper pack – it is a light print so it looks more like So Saffron.  There are small photo corners  punched from the Basic Black card stock and the Photo Corners punch.

The accent pieces are stamped with the Vintage Labels set (another one you can get FREE with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration order) – the curly label frame image was stamped with Crushed Curry or Basic Black ink on Whisper White, So Saffron card stock and a piece of the Night & Day Designer Series paper.  These were all punched out with the Curly Label punch.

Then I stamped each one with an image from the Charming stamp set which was featured in the Holiday Mini catalog but is still available during the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The flower was stamped with Crushed Curry ink.  The other two were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder.

I was very happy with how this one turned out.  I hope you like it too.  Now to work on week 5’s layout…..

Have a wonderful Stampin’ Up! Day!

Simply Adorned Jewelry

Did you notice the Simply Adorned Jewelry in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog (or the Holiday Mini Catalog)?

We were finally able to order the jewelry at the beginning of January.  I got one charm and one chain and I love them!

I have the 1″ x 1-1/4″ rectangle charm and the 24″ chain.  I was worried about it bothering my neck – over the years I seem to have developed a metal allergy and most things make me start itching and I have to take them off – so far this chain has not bothered me at all and I have been wearing it.  The chains are Stainless Steel and come in two lengths – 24″ and 34″ and a bracelet that is 8″.

There are 3 large charms to wear on a chain and 2 small charms that you can add to the bracelet or the chain.

The great thing about the charms is that they are little lockets with windows and you can create stamped creations to fit inside.  Just image you will always have something to match whatever you are wearing!  And because these are small it doesn’t take long to stamp something to put inside.

The stamp set I used on this one is the Charming stamp set and it was originally shown in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  And yes it is still available.  The front of the charm has a beveled edge on the glass.

The back is flat but also glass so you can show a different image on the back side. The design on the back also uses the Charming stamp set and I created it very quickly actually from a scrap that I had lying on the table while working on a card.  I just cut it to fit inside my charm.

There is a new stamp set called Tiny Tags in the Occasions Mini that was designed to work with the little charms.

I’m excited about the jewelry and I am working on a class that will be in March.  We will create a dozen or more inserts and decorate the box that will hold the chain, charm and inserts.  This will be  a perfect Mother’s Day gift – or make two and keep one for yourself.  I’ll have more information on the class as the date approaches.

I have been busy finishing up projects for Create with Connie & Julie class.  I’m posting again this Friday – but you have to be a class member to see the project – so make sure you join – it’s not too late – we are about half way through and all the projects are out there.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Snowflake 3×3 cards

I have more 3×3 cards.  I should have bought this snowflake punch earlier – I have used it a lot since I got it.

For these 3×3 tags I used Chocolate Chip card stock and a strip of paper from the Designer Series paper called Autumn Meadows in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday mini catalog.

I punched a snowflake from Very Vanilla card stock and glued it to the front.

The greetings are from the Chit Chat Rub-Ons.  On a few of them I cut off just the word “thanks” because I wanted these tags to say thanks but a few of the phrases with didn’t exactly say what I wanted.  So if you have the rub-ons you could cut apart the saying that you aren’t using or don’t suit your needs and put together with other words to say something that might work better for you.

I always cut out the rub-on that I am using so that I don’t mess up the others that I’m not using.  Place it on the card and then burnish it with the little popsicle stick that comes with your rub-ons.  The white shows up nicely on the dark card stock.  There will be a new pack of Rub-ons similar to this set in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog.  These are a great deal – you get more than 200 greetings in each pack.

These will be tags that go on orders that I have right now.  If you are in my stamp club your orders are here.

Merry Chritsmas!

Yvonne’s Christmas Card

I wanted to share with a card made by my friend, Yvonne.  She sent this to me for Christmas and it is gorgeous.  I call it a fancy fold card.  The front is scored and folded back.  The ornament outline is cut on one half only so that the ornament image shows through on the front and the inside.  The images from Delightful Decorations are stamped and embossed in White.  The one on the inside has the half pearl from the Pretties Kit in the center.

Yvonne added some silver cord at that fold so it sits at the top of the ornament.  Either side of the card has a piece of the Flocked paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper and a layer of Whisper White card stock that was punched with the Eyelet border punch.

This card turned out great and I haven’t made one like this yet.  I’m going to have to try one of these.  I think the Movers & Shapers die with the various windows would work for this idea.

Thank you Yvonne for sending me this beautiful card.

I shared this on Late Night Stampers as day 11 in the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge.

Have a great day – Christmas is almost here…..

Dasher Treat Cup Ornament

This cute little ornament was designed by my upline Wendy Randall.  I just loved it when I made it at her house and used it for my class on Friday as well.  It is an ornament but could also be used as a gift tag.  I am also making a snowman version – I don’t have a picture of that one yet so I’ll have to show it tomorrow.

This uses the Stampin’ Up! Dasher stamp – what a great deal and very popular too!

And the treat cups that are in the Stampin’ Up! holiday mini catalog and these will also be in the new Occasions Mini Catalog that will begin on Jau. 5th along with a new stamp set to use it with.

The Big Shot was used to cut two Scallop circles from the Scallop Circle #2 die – it is the large circle of the two on the die.  Then use the Big Shot again Stampin’ Up! Perfect Details Texturz Plate to add the swirly texture on each piece.

Sponge with Chocolate Chip ink to bring out the texture and we also sponged the scallops around the circle.  Then add the white dots with the gel pen.  Use the 1-3/4″ Circle punch to punch a hole in one of the circles – the hole is not in the center – so the bottom is bigger than the top edge – we pushed the punch in as far as it would reach and lined it up from side to side in the center.

Stamp Dasher in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock.  Add Dazzling Diamonds glitter to his antlers with a 2-way glue pen if you like.  The “snow” in the cup is Tapioca – so put a little in the sweet treat cup – remove the adhesive from the cup and attach the cup over the stamped dasher.  To do this I held the cup and the card stock above me so I could see where I was putting it – you may also be able to set the cup on the table and “see through” the white card stock to position it.

Then put the scallop circle with the hole over the sweet treat cup and trim off any white card stock that shows.  Use a little bit of adhesive to hold the scallop to the sweet treat cup.  On the second scallop circle I used the Tombow mutli-purpose adhesive and then glued that to the back matching it to the one in the front.

To finish add a piece of the red polka dot ribbon and silver cord for a hanger.

It is really cute!  Thanks Wendy for sharing it with me.

Have a wonderful day!

WOW Scrapbook Kit for December

Hi everyone – the WOW Scrapbook Kit for December is now posted on the our Blog.  Wendy and I have both been busy and during the holidays our schedule is off – I know I’m late getting everything posted to the blog.  We are working together on this project to bring you some WOW scrapbook pages throughout the year.   The December kit includes two Christmas layouts and one New Year layout – of course you can always change them to use for the occasions that you need.  The FULL Kit – which includes supplies and instructions can be ordered through Jan. 4th – we will place supply orders – assemble the kits and send them out approximately 2 weeks later.  The Demo Kit – which is a pdf file with the instructions can be ordered at any time – the pdf files will be sent out after the holidays.  You don’t have to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator to order the pdf files either – that is just what we are calling it since that is what most Demonstrators want.  We also have individual layouts that can be ordered – these are also pdf files with instructions.     All the instructions include photographs, measurements, supply lists, step by step instructions and wow tips to help you create these beautiful pages.  These feature all Stampin’ Up! products.  I hope you will stop over and take a look at the WOW Scrapbook Kits blog where you will find more details about each of the three layouts in this kit.   Here is the December Sneak Peek.  These pages do use a few items from the Holiday Mini Catalog – but other sets and paper can easily be substituted.

Happy Scrappin’!
