Apr 20, 2012 | Birthday, Cards, Embossing, Occasions Mini 2012, Sale-A-Bration 2012 |
This card features a bunch of products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog and the new Diagonal Score Plate. The Diagonal Score Plate was used to create the waffle background on the Soft Suede piece.
There is a strip of Designer Series paper from the Sweet Shop collection. I used the Label Framelits to create the Pool Party label. The yummy ice cream cone is from the Mouthwatering stamp set. There are a couple of different things going on with the ice cream cone. The cone is colored first with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker and then thumped with the Soft Suede marker – that gives it the different shades of color. The ice cream was colored with the Calypso Coral marker and then I put a drop of Versamark ink on it and spread it around to cover the ice cream – sprinkle with the Cherry Scented Embossing Powder and heat set. I know you can’t smell my blog post but if you could smell the card in real life it smells like cherries. The cone is cut out and added on the label with dimensionals.
There is also one of the Jelly Bean brads right by the label. and the greeting punched out with the decorative label punch – I thought this one was perfect – “Happy birthday with a cherry on top!”.
I did tie some Calypso Coral ribbon that came from the Sale-A-Bration ribbon&brad pack onto this card – I thought it finished it off quite well. This card was based on something I saw at leadership.
Have a sweet day!

Apr 19, 2012 | Build-a-Bear, Cards, Retired List |
Now that Stampin’ Up! has put out the Retiring Stamp set list we get to remember stamp sets that we love. I am going to try to mix in some posts where I re-post projects made with some of the retiring stamp sets.
One of the things that I noticed on the list was the Build-A-Bear stamp sets – all the sets are on the retiring list – that makes me wonder if they have new ones or if they are dropping the line all together. Until we know for sure I thought I would share some of my projects that I made with the Beary Best Friends (#118052) and Beary Nice Wishes (#118050) stamp sets.

If you love the Build-a-Bear stamp sets or have part of the collection and were waiting to get the coordinating sets then you better do it soon. They will be gone after May 31st. Here are the sets in the collections:
Bear Hugs, Beary Best Times, Beary Best Friends, Beary Nice Wishes, and Season of Hugs.

Have a Beary Nice Day!

This month’s class we will be making the Garden Animal Punch Art card set. Come learn how to use various punches to make these cute animals and other elements that you can add to cards, scrapbook pages and other projects. You won’t want to miss it! RSVP by Wednesday night April 18th. Class fee is $15. Plan to bring your snail tape adhesive, paper snips, a 2-way glue pen, and craft tweezers if you have them. Apr 13, 2012 | Big Shot, Birthday, Cards |
I need to get on the stick and create some more with the Summer Smooches bundle of products. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is getting to pre-order products before they become available for sale to everyone. So I was able to order the Summer Smooches bundle last month. And I actually got the stamp set back in January – it was the gift we got at the Manager’s Reception at the Leadership conference. But I haven’t played a lot with all my stuff so I really need to do that. Here is one card that I created –
The idea for this card was based on a card that another demonstrator created (I need to figure out who and where I saw it). I did make some changes – if I remember correctly – I added a Lucky Limeade card base (I believe the original card I saw was white). I added texture to the largest oval shape – Oh by the way the three ovals that you see that is a Big Shot Die – did you know we had one that has 3 ovals on it? I forget about it sometimes. The smallest oval I added for the sentiment – I used the Sincere Salutations stamp set – it’s an old one – I have it from before I was a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – so it’s been around for a while – I wonder if it will make it into the new catalog or if it is going to be on the retired list. We’ll know in a few days. I also added the Real Red ribbon – I don’t think the original card I saw had any ribbon.
I used my Clear Blocks and mounted both vases on one block together. Then used my Stampin’ Write markers to color them and stamp on the medium oval. I stamped the flowers on extra white left from cutting the ovals and cut those out and popped them up. Other than the cutting out part this is a quick card.
One more thing to note – Stampin’ Up! has updated the Clearance Rack – so head on over to my online store on my website and see what’s there. Good deals that usually disappear fast. I think they are making room for all the new things coming soon in our new catalog – June 1st!

Have a great rest of your day!

Apr 12, 2012 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Mini 2012, Stamper's Club |
Oops – I forgot to post a project yesterday – I meant to but I forgot. I’ll have to make up for it by posting over the weekend again. Today I wanted to share a card I created for my stamp club – Cari my hostess wanted a card using the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set so this is what I ended up with.

I used the colors and some of the elements from the scrapbook page I made for Leadership back in January (post is here) and a card idea that I saw on Pinterest. And the end result was this card. The base is Riding Hood Red with squares punched from the Twitterpated Designer Series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog. The Gnome Sweet Gnome set is also in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The other colors I used are Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray.
On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White piece stamped along the bottom. All the coloring is done with Stampin’ Write Markers.

On the inside when I colored the rock I didn’t do a good job and colored into the flowers that are stamped on it – so to fix my mistake I punched two flowers using my itty bitty punch pack flower from Whisper White card stock and glued those to the rock to cover the other flowers. I added Daffodil Delight dots in the centers with a Stampin’ Write marker.
The Occasions Mini Catalog ends this month so if you want the Designer paper or the stamp set that I used for this card hurry and buy them before they are gone.

Apr 6, 2012 | Big Shot, Cards, Easter, Sale-A-Bration 2012, Watercoloring |
I created another Easter card using the Everybunny stamp set.
I used a strip of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper from Sale-A-Bration. Tied a piece of Pool Party Seam Binding around the card (Crumb Cake). I used my Big Shot and the Scallop Circle and Circle die to cut the focal point. The stamps were stamped in Black StazOn ink and then watercolored – except for the egg – I stamped the image on another piece of designer paper from the same pack and cut it out and layered it over the stamped egg on the circle. I call that paper-piecing. Another little trick for you on the mushrooms I used a Poppy Parade marker to fill in the dots and the stripe and then used the Aquapainter to spread the ink from there to the rest of the mushroom which created the pink color.
Have a Happy Day!
