I wanted to try some other Designer Series Paper besides the Summer Smooch with the Petite Purse Die. My workshop girls from last week – wanted to see the die so this is what I came up with.
I used the Attic Boutique Designer Paper from the Occasions Mini catalog and look how cute it turned out. This particular paper is not shown well in the mini – it only shows the two strips and the background but in the corner is also has the flowers so it makes for a funky little purse.
To decorate the front I punched with the Boho Blossoms punch and stacked all three flowers together and put a Rhinestone brad through the center and secured it to the front of the purse. The Daffodil Delight print is the backside of this paper so if you wanted you could have turned it around and had the Daffodil print on the outside of the purse.
These would be cute for a bridal shower which is what I was thinking of when I selected the paper to try. The Occasions Mini has ended now but guess what there are some items in it that have been carried over and it sounds like some will be in our new catalog.
These are the stamp sets still available – Bordering on Romance, Loving Thoughts, Mixed Bunch, Tea Shoppe, Apothecary Art, Love & Laughter, Mouthwatering, and Baby Prints. Some of the other products still available are the Big Shot items – Framelits, Dies, Sizzlits, and folders, Dazzling Details, the Baker’s twine and Seam Binding, the Twitterpated fabric and designer paper, Blossom punch, Simply Scored, the pearls, the scented embossing powder, and the cookie stamps.
I can’t wait to see what other exciting new things are in the catalog!
Have a great weekend – I have stamp club tonight, then Kyle is coming home tomorrow for a week before he leaves to go to California. Tyler is already home – so a year of college done. I’ll try to post this weekend about the birds in the backyard – I do have updates for you – I just have had a chance to get them posted.

I love this butterfly idea that I saw at Leadership with the Hat Pin from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog. This is my second card using this idea. I also used the new Framelits – the labels collection – Love them!
So here is a quick list of what I used on this card –
So Saffron card base – stamped half with En Francais background stamp with Soft Suede ink
Crumb Cake Seam Binding
Framelits Labels – Early Espresso, Very Vanilla (stamped with Apothocary Art) – color the stamped image with So Saffron Stampin’ Write marker, sponged with Soft Suede
Beautiful Butterflies Die – cut one from Pool Party card stock and one from Attic Boutique Designer Series paper. I used the 1/16 inch punch to put a hole above and below the smaller butterfly and stick the hat pin through the holes. Add a string of Rhinestones over the center of the small butterfly. Tie a piece of Linen thread around the top of the hat pin. And the butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Occasions Mini Catalog is ending soon – April 30th!
Have a great day!
Apr 20, 2012 | Birthday, Cards, Embossing, Occasions Mini 2012, Sale-A-Bration 2012 |
This card features a bunch of products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog and the new Diagonal Score Plate. The Diagonal Score Plate was used to create the waffle background on the Soft Suede piece.
There is a strip of Designer Series paper from the Sweet Shop collection. I used the Label Framelits to create the Pool Party label. The yummy ice cream cone is from the Mouthwatering stamp set. There are a couple of different things going on with the ice cream cone. The cone is colored first with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker and then thumped with the Soft Suede marker – that gives it the different shades of color. The ice cream was colored with the Calypso Coral marker and then I put a drop of Versamark ink on it and spread it around to cover the ice cream – sprinkle with the Cherry Scented Embossing Powder and heat set. I know you can’t smell my blog post but if you could smell the card in real life it smells like cherries. The cone is cut out and added on the label with dimensionals.
There is also one of the Jelly Bean brads right by the label. and the greeting punched out with the decorative label punch – I thought this one was perfect – “Happy birthday with a cherry on top!”.
I did tie some Calypso Coral ribbon that came from the Sale-A-Bration ribbon&brad pack onto this card – I thought it finished it off quite well. This card was based on something I saw at leadership.
Have a sweet day!
Apr 12, 2012 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Mini 2012, Stamper's Club |
Oops – I forgot to post a project yesterday – I meant to but I forgot. I’ll have to make up for it by posting over the weekend again. Today I wanted to share a card I created for my stamp club – Cari my hostess wanted a card using the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set so this is what I ended up with.
I used the colors and some of the elements from the scrapbook page I made for Leadership back in January (post is here) and a card idea that I saw on Pinterest. And the end result was this card. The base is Riding Hood Red with squares punched from the Twitterpated Designer Series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog. The Gnome Sweet Gnome set is also in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The other colors I used are Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray.
On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White piece stamped along the bottom. All the coloring is done with Stampin’ Write Markers.
On the inside when I colored the rock I didn’t do a good job and colored into the flowers that are stamped on it – so to fix my mistake I punched two flowers using my itty bitty punch pack flower from Whisper White card stock and glued those to the rock to cover the other flowers. I added Daffodil Delight dots in the centers with a Stampin’ Write marker.
The Occasions Mini Catalog ends this month so if you want the Designer paper or the stamp set that I used for this card hurry and buy them before they are gone.

Apr 3, 2012 | Cards, Easter, In Colors, Occasions Mini 2012, Retired List, Watercoloring |
These are the Easter invitations I made this year to send to our family. We always invite everyone to our house for lunch and an afternoon Easter Egg hunt. Our largest group was around 40 people. This year we have a small group there will only be 14 of us and just two little ones hunting Easter Eggs this time. The menu is planned and the seating arrangements are figured out – now to finish up the decorations and get the house and yard in order.
These cute little cards use the Every Bunny stamp set – it was one of the first sets I wanted last summer out of the new catalog – but I had to wait for so long to use if for Easter.
The base of the card is Pear Pizzazz and wheeled with the Every Egg Stampin’ Around wheel that matches the stamp set – I actually used Old Olive ink in my ink cartridge for the wheel – and I wheeled the envelope to match. Above the eggs the Happy Easter Everbunny stamp is done in Jet Black StazOn – which is also what the bunnies and mushrooms are stamped in so I could watercolor them. The bunnies and mushrooms are stamped on a piece of Naturals White card stock that was cut with one of the Framelits Labels (love them). The images are watercolored with an aquapainter – colors I used are – Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride. I also sponged around the label with the Baja Breeze along the top (the sky) and Pear Pizzazz along the bottom (the ground).
I ripped 1″ strips of fabric from the Twitterpated pack – I used all three prints but just noticed the cards in my picture both use the striped print. I tied the strip with a piece of the Whisper White Baker’s Twine and on some I added one of the Twitterpated buttons. The buttons and fabric are from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog. I really like how they turned out.
Just a couple of reminders April is the last month for the Occasions Mini Catalog – so if there are things you still want out of there don’t let the month slip by before you order them. Hopefully some items will carry over into the new catalog but so far no word on that. This year the In-Colors from 2010 are retiring – Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade and Concord Crush – so don’t delay ordering your ink refills and card stock so you’ll have when you want to use those colors later. The retiring stamp sets and accessories will be announced later this month and anything on the accessories list is only while supplies last so once they are out – they are out. You can order online on my website or email me and I’ll get them ordered for you.
Mar 30, 2012 | Big Shot, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Mini 2012, Scrapbook Pages |
At my March Scrapbook class we made two layouts – one was the bunny layout I showed you yesterday and the other was this fun Happy Birthday layout featuring the Sweet Shop Suite from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.
This was a fun layout that I saw in a scrapbook magazine and I wanted to adapt it to my Stampin’ Up! products. I used Whisper White for my background and started by drawing a grid on each page. I used a ruler and my Stampin’ Write marker to draw the grid because originally I planned to just use the marker lines as part of the layout. But then I decided to use the Baker’s Twine instead. To do this I put a very thin line of the multi-purpose liquid glue (the one in the green bottle) right on top of my marker lines and then laid the Baker’s Twine in the glue – it dries pretty quickly. I used Calypso Coral for my layout but we have all this year’s in-colors in the twine so any of them would have worked that match this paper.
Here is a drawing of my grid on paper -you should be able to click on it and see a bigger version. I tried to mark what goes in each spot – Designer paper, picture, title, journaling…
The Designer Paper is the Sweet Shop – it has some embossed patterns which add some fun texture to this layout.
I also added stickers from the coordinating designer stickers – these make fun little accents on this layout. The stamp set I used is the Take a Spin set – I stamped the birthday spinner image and cut it into triangles – then added a colored circle and one of the Sweet Shop Jelly Bean brads to the point before putting it on the page. I add a little banner using punches from the pennant punch. The Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die and the Happy Birthday Strip die (for the title) finish up the page.
Now it just needs some fun happy birthday pictures on it. Enjoy!
