Hands On Class – Punch Art Garden Animals

This weeks Hands On Class is the Punch Art Garden Animals card set.  Super Cute!

I designed this project for the Ustamp online class and now I’m offering it as a reals hands-on class in my home.  I love all these little elements and you’ll love learning some different little tricks with your punches.    Here are the class details:

Hands-On Class – is Friday, April 20th – 10:00 am and 7:00 pm

This month’s class we will be making the Garden Animal Punch Art card set.  Come learn how to use various punches to make these cute animals and other elements that you can add to cards, scrapbook pages and other projects.  You won’t want to miss it!  RSVP by Wednesday night April 18th. Class fee is $15.  Plan to bring your snail tape adhesive, paper snips, a 2-way glue pen, and craft tweezers if you have them.  For punch art the 2-way glue pen and some fine tipped craft tweezers are very helpful.

I hope to see you there.

Ustamp Swap Card

I can’t believe I scheduled a whole weeks worth of  blog posts.  If things went well I was able to add Leadership updates in between – but I’m writing this one a week before it will post so I don’t know what is going to happen yet.  This is one of my organized card swaps – this is with the girls from the Ustamp class and we did a full card swap.

Lots of new products on this one too.  I really like this card and plan to include it as part of my Card Maker’s Club class this week.  I used the Labels Collection Framelits – can you tell I like these framelits – I’ve been using them a lot.  The Labels Framelits match perfectly with the new stamp set Apothecary Art stamp set.  Making it quick to stamp and cut them out for your projects.  I used two sizes for this card. I also entered this card into the card contest – hopefully one of my entries will win.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Card stock:  Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pool Party Stampin’ Write marker
  • Stamp sets: Apothecary Art
  • Accessories:  Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Attic Boutique Designer Series paper, Pool Party Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Stampin’ Sponge, Stampin’ Dimensionals

For my project I chose a Christmas Countdown project.  It was something I had in mind as soon as I saw the 25 & Counting Stamp Set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.  It’s my favorite mini ever!! (But I am partial to it since my picture is in the US version)  And if you get creative you can use this set for more than Christmas – I cut apart the words/numbers and use them on birthday cards too – it doesn’t work for every stamp but it works for a lot of them.
Now back to my project –
It doesn’t look like much in the picture but the box holds 25 countdown cards and on each card is a peek-a-boo frame – when you open the frame underneath is an activity for you to do that day!  Make the whole month fun for the kids.  I created three sheets of activities – 36 total and you can choose the 25 that suit your family or make up your own.
Here is a peek at one of the cards –

Penguin Treat

Happy December!  This year just zoomed right by.

I do have to say there is a reason I live in the south – I don’t like to be cold – I know I am a wimp – but we have had three days of cold weather and I’m ready for spring and warmth again!

I wanted to share a quick treat with you.  This was made by Joyce Pandolfi for my last PAWS demonstrator meeting.  We all swapped little gift ideas and this is what she brought – he is super cute.  Inside the box is a little mini chocolate bar that slides out the bottom so you don’t even have to mess up the box.

It looks like she used oval punches and heart punches to make this little guy.  The ribbon border at the top and a snowflake that looks like it came from the Northern Frost Decorative Strip die.    Joyce always has fun treat ideas for us.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Come back tomorrow for the Ustamp with Dawn & Friends Blog Hop – Up on the Roof Top Blop Hop – Holiday 2011 – you can blog hop all weekend and win prizes so be sure to come by.  See you then!

Garden Animals Punch Art Card Set

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday this past week (if you are in the US that is).  We spent the week in Virginia with Greg’s family and had a great time.  We did some shopping, played some games, did some cooking, a little bit of crafting (making turkey boxes and advent calendars), and enjoyed each others company.  Our trip home on Saturday was a tad bit more interesting than our usual – as we drove through Tennessee we happened to see the highway sign that said the interstate was closed – this was probably a couple of hours before we got to that point – so the iphone came in handy – I searched for traffic and then live cams and the maps to figure out what was going on and what we needed to do – as it turned out the interstate was completely shut down for 5 hours – no cars through at all.  We stopped at an exit for lunch before we got to that point and decided that we could go around it or home another way from that point.  Tyler drove from this point on – I was the navigator using the iphone and found a path around the accident and back to the interstate in Knoxville – problem #2 – the bridge across the river was closed and we had to follow a detour for that too.  But we got back on our path and made it all the way home with Tyler driving (a young 18 year old driver is still a little stressful but he did a good job and got lots of good practice).  Tyler and Kyle are both back at college and Sunday I did lots of laundry.  But hey – that’s not why you are here enough chatter and on to my project today.

I wanted to share this super cute punch art project with you today.  I created this box set of cards for the Knockout Punches online class for Ustamp with Dawn & Friends.

It is a box with 6 cards – each one featuring a different punch art garden animal.  A great project for scrap and lots of fun to make.  I’ll be offering this as a class next year as we get ready for spring – so keep an eye on my hands-on class schedule.  And if you don’t live near me the full tutorial is available as part of the Knock Out Punches version of UStamp with Dawn & Friends – you can sign up for that and get over 45 great punch projects all with a tutorial and pictures.  Lots of fun stuff – here is the link to the Ustamp site.  You can also click on the button on my side bar.

And guess what – they are predicting that north Georgia will get some snow on Tuesday!  We’ll have to see if that happens and if it gets to us.  Have a wonderful day!
