Stampin’ Up!’s coordinating products make it so easy to create beautiful cards in no time. Check this one out –
The coordinating products in the Sale-A-Bration Sweet Sorbet collection – designer paper and bakers twine from the accessory pack. I paired it with the Label Love bundle which includes the Label Love stamp set and the coordinating Artisan Label punch. With card stock that matches our ink and designer paper this card came together in no time.
A quick post today! Come back tomorrow and I’ll have something else to share.
I thought I would do something fun on my blog for today to celebrate my birthday. I’d like for you to leave me a comment and let me know which project/blog post has been your favorite on my blog. I’ll pick a winner to receive a free tutorial of the project I’m sharing with you today. And if you place a Stampin’ Up! order in my online store I’ll send you the tutorial for free. You can shop my store here. You’ll have through Friday to leave your comment and/or place an order. I’ll send the tutorials out via email this weekend.
This is one of my favorite projects that I’ve made in the last few months.
It is so pretty in person. The combination of Basic Black and Very Vanilla from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper along with the GOLD accents and the pop of color from the Coastal Cabana it’s just beautiful!
There are touches of gold and the natural elements from the Linen Thread and Cotton Ribbon are unique combination.
The book has multiple pages made out of coasters. Plus a fun pocket page in the center.
The tutorial has all the details to make this project including lots of photos. I hope you’ll leave me some love today!
Those are some of the stamps in the Cool Kid stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I used it this week to make birthday cards for my niece and nephew. I think they are cool kids and this was the perfect stamp set for that. I bought it with the two of them in mind. I used the same basic layout for both cards and the same pack of Designer Series paper – I just focused on different colors and images so that I could create a “boy” version and a “girl” version of the same card.
Here is Ally’s card – I used Melon Mambo (she loves pink) and the cat and kites.
And this one is Noah’s card – no pink on this one and I used the dog with the paper airplanes. His card is actually on a Basic Black card base which you can’t see because I photographed on a black background.
Supplies used for these cards:
Cool Kid* stamp set, Bring on the Cake stamp set
Kaleidoscope* Designer Series Paper
On Film Framelits Dies*
Girl card: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stock
Boy card: Basic Black, Crushed Curry & Whisper White card stock
Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo classic ink
*Products featured in the Occasions 2014 catalog. If you would like to order any of these products – SHOP HERE.
I gave Noah his card – he had his 9th birthday – when he opened it – I said “I made that card for you.” – he reply with a big grin – “I knew you were going to make me a card!”
I saw this fun card idea using the Tag Topper Punch and couldn’t wait to learn how to make it. I did a little searching on Pinterest and found a video from an Australian Demonstrator. This idea was one that I showed my Stamper’s Club this month and I also used it as a swap for my PAWS Team meeting.
I wanted to use some of the Sale-A-Bration FREE products and decided on the Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper and the Accessory Pack with the Baker’s Twine. Since I had 3 colors of twine I made 3 different color versions of the card and let my Stamp Club decide which one they wanted.

So let’s see if I can explain (with pictures!) how to do this.
First cut your card stock to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 (that’s your standard half sheet of card stock) – but DON’T score it in the middle like you normally would. Use a pencil and make a mark on one of the short ends – I marked at 1″. The punch won’t be perfectly centered but that was ok for me. You want the same mark on the other end of the card stock but on the opposite side. You will use these to line up to do your punching.
Make sure the Tag Topper punch is open and wiggle your card stock in. I have my mark on the right side.
Line up the little mark with the edge of the punch. If you click on these photos you should be able to see a bigger version.
Once you are lined up then punch. You end up with this.
See the little mark to the right of the punch? You should have a matching mark at the other end of the card stock but on the back side. So do a flip with the card stock and repeat what you just did on the other side. If your marks aren’t on the same side then your punches won’t line up since this is not exactly in the center of the card stock.
Get out a paper trimmer and put one of the punched ends in the trimmer. You are going to cut off the little rectangle pieces sticking out on either side of the punch.
Now one end looks like this
score the punched tab that you have left
Turn your card stock around to work on the other side. I start by lining up the edge that I just created at 4-1/4″ on my trimmer. Score all the way down to make the center score of the card.
Slide over the card stock to trim away the two rectangles left on either side of the other punched end.
And finally fold on the two score lines you created – one in the center and one is the tab. Now you can decorate your card.
This is what I used on mine:
The card base on my cards is Sahara Sand.
I added a Whisper White layer on the inside.
Punch a strip 5-1/4″ with the Ribbon Border Punch of the card stock in the desired color.
Cut a 2″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper and attach it to the punch strip and add this to the front panel of the card.
Stamp an image – I used Label Love. I used the ink that matched my punched strip. Punch it out with the Artisan Label punch.
Create a layer for the Artisan Label punch – punch to more in a coordinating color – I used the Pistachio Pudding that is in the paper. Cut each punch in half in opposite directions and then glue the halves onto the back of the stamped punch creating a mat layer.
Punch a Itty Bitty Flower – scrunch it up to get the layers of card stock to separate and give the flower dimension. Insert a Silver Mini Brad and attach to the Artisan label. Attach the hole thing to the front panel of the card.
Tie the punched tabs shut with the matching Baker’s Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. I tied knots in the ends of the twine so it wouldn’t unravel when the card was opened and closed.
I hope that was helpful and that you can now go and make some of these cards yourself. They were a lot of fun and unique twist from the normal cards we make.
Yay! Stampin’ Up! has their own Texture Boutique Embossing Machine!
Remember last year we had it for a brief period of time – I think it sold out in 2 or 3 days! It was popular and I love mine. I use it almost exclusively for embossing in my craft room and use it often it my classes too. For me sometimes the Big Shot gives a little too much pressure and I have to adjust my tabs and shims but the Boutique seems to be just right every time.
So I created this little card based on the video that SU released on the machine. I’ll attach the video for you too. In the video Brian uses this idea on a little treat bag and I just adapted it to a card.
For my card I used the following things:
Baked Brown Sugar card base
Whisper White layer
Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar strips for embossing
Arrows Textured Embossing Folder
Texture Boutique Embossing Machine
Perfect Pennants stamp set and Banner Framelits Dies (available as a bundle)
Tangerine Tango ink
Retro Fresh Washi Tape
Whisper White Baker’s Twine
Here is the video:
The Texture Boutique is available in my online store – SHOP HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy the weekend. I have lots of stamping going on. Stamper’s Club Friday night and Saturday morning. And then a team meeting on Saturday night. I can’t wait to spend time with everyone.
The Tag It stamp set is the annual Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Part of the sales from each set go to Ronald McDonald House. We have a group that goes to our local house and stamps with the guests that are staying there. I will be going tonight with my friend Leishman.
I thought I would share this cute card that I had at my Card Maker’s class this week that uses the Tag It stamp set.
This one is a birthday card that I actually “recycled” from parts for a Christmas card – you can see it HERE on my FB page. Hopefully that link works :).
Here are the supplies that I used:
Crumb Cake card base
Season of Style Designer Paper Stack (from the Holiday catalog)
Stampin’ Write Markers – Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar
Chalk Talk Framelits (they coordinate with the stamp set!)
I used the Stampin’ Write Markers to color the stamp image so that I could make it multiple colors. Do all of the coloring, then huff on the stamp and stamp it on your card stock
I’ll try to take some pictures tonight when we go to the Ronald McDonald house so I can post them to my blog.
