Father’s Day is coming up this weekend. Do you have a card made yet?
I have a few designs that I have created lately that I was going to share with you this week. The first one uses the new Swirly Bird stamp set. The name of the set doesn’t give you any idea that there is a sailboat – or rather the parts to create a sailboat.

I used the new Dapper Denim In-Color (its’ the one I’ve been using the most) along with Real Red, a little bit of Pool Party and Tip Top Taupe. I used the Circle Framelits to create the ring. The Swirly Scribbles Thinlits are the waves inside the ring.
I used the new Thick White Baker’s Twine. And the words are from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. There is a lot of new on this card.
Enjoy.

Did you know there are exclusive stamp sets just for hosts?
When you earn Stampin’ Rewards from hosting a party, you can use them to buy any catalog product, OR you can use them for the exclusive host-only items in the catalog. They are on pages 198-201.
My favorite one was Love You Lots. It has some adorable animals in it – an elephant, a little mouse (it reminds me of the mouse in Goodnight Moon), a frog, hedgehogs, and lady bugs! It’s a set that is perfect for watecoloring with your Aqua Painters. That is what I did here with this sample.

I used watercolor paper for both the back ground and the focal point. And water colored the dots and the elephant with Smoky Slate ink. I used my brand new Layering Squares framelits to cut the plain square and the scalloped square. The tiny hearts are from the Confetti Hearts Border punch.
So cute!
Here is a list of supplies I used.

May 14, 2016 | 2016 Occasions catalog, Big Shot, OnStage, Thinlits |
At the OnStage Live event in April I hosted a dinner and treat swap. We met at the Red Rock Brewery which seems to have become a tradition now. In the past we have done a card swap and then on top of that some people would bring little treats to give to friends too. So I thought why don’t we just swap little treat ideas so that was what we did and I think everyone really enjoyed it. Usually we go to Salt Lake City in July and the weather has always been really nice but this time we went in April – weather is not so nice. It poured down rain and was really windy when we were trying to get to the restaurant that night.
There were 20 of us and a ton of cute little treat ideas. I know I’ll be using them throughout the year for various things. A couple I’ve already used since I’ve been home. Today I wanted to share mine with you. I made a little Pooh box using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits. They were so cute! The thinlits are in the Occasions catalog and have a stamp set called Playful Pals. If you order this month (May) you can get them as a bundle and save 15%. They will be in the new catalog but not as a bundle anymore. Here are a couple of the in progress photos:
I worked on the like an assembly line – cutting all the various pieces and then working on one part at a time. All the small pieces I stored in empty embellishment containers until I was ready to add them to my box. I used Hello Honey card stock – I thought that was pretty perfect for Pooh Bear but it’s retiring! So if you don’t have Hello Honey you may want to grab some. The little bow ties are Real Red. Here is a look at the front.

On the back I made a little trap door – the handle is a tiny Pool Party Butterfly added with a brad. And darn it if they aren’t retiring those little brads – I bought extras because I use them a lot. Here is a look at the back.

Inside the treat is none other than a little mini bag of gummy bears! Yummy! I love the real gummy bears from Germany. We always had those as kids and I’m glad they now sell them in the US. My kids got to grow up with them too.
Wouldn’t it be cute to add a piglet and tigger box too. Those will have to be future creations.

Remember to give someone a small little treat once in a while!

May 11, 2016 | Big Shot, Cards, Display Samples, Embossing, In Colors, OnStage |
I’m back with more of my Display Samples from the OnStage Live event in Salt Lake City last month. Today I’m going to share my creations that feature the Watermelon Wonder In-Color along with some new products coming in the 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.
For my customers – those that aren’t local the new catalog should be coming to you in the mail. For those in my Stamper’s Club I’ll have them with your club orders. And the rest of my local gals I’m planning a Catalog Kickoff/pickup party (and a BOGO sale) for the first weekend in June. More to come on that later.
On to the samples:

This is a soft flowery card. I clear embossed the little roses onto the white card stock. Then stamped the leaves in the Cucumber Crush ink and covered it quickly with clear embossing powder and heat set. I used the Watermelon Wonder ink and an aqua painter to paint around all the little roses. Then went around all the flowers and leaves with Soft Sky. Here is a list of some of what I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Birthday Blooms stamp set – in the Occasions catalog and it will be in the new catalog
- Tree Builder punch – that is the vellum piece where the words are
- Silver Thread and Silver embossing powder
In my samples today you will see the versatility of the Swirly Bird stamp set. Here is another card using the same set, with a totally different look.

This idea just popped into my head one day – the image reminded me of those big swirly lollipops that you see at the candy store. I stamped with Watermelon Wonder ink on a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock and covered it quickly with clear embossing powder and heat set it. I wanted it to look a little shiny like a lollipop. The bubbles underneath are also from the Swirly Bird stamp set. The die cut pieces are from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. Here is a short list of what I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape – coming in the new catalog (that’s the red striped piece on the right side
- Mini Treat Bag Thinlits
- Banner Triple Punch
And here is one more card with the Swirly Bird set:

It’s another kite – remember the one I made in Cucumber Crush. Here are some of the things I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Hearth & Home Thinlits – for the window
- Brick Wall embossing folder – for the wall background
- Tree Builder punch – for the clouds
- Greetings Thinlits – these are retiring and unfortunately sold out
And my last Watermelon Wonder project is another panel for the 3D seasonal calendar.

This is the spring panel.
- Sheltering Tree stamp set
- Old Olive Baker’s Twine
- use the new set Project Life Date It for “SPRING” if you don’t have the Project Life Day to Day set that I used here.
Those are my 4 projects featuring Watermelon Wonder.

Mar 22, 2016 | 2016 Occasions catalog, Big Shot, Sale-A-Bration 2016 |
Can you believe it is almost the end of March? There are only 9 more days left after today. March and Sale-A-Bration are coming to a quick end. Today’s project features two items from the Sale-A-Bration brochure – Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper and the Botanicals for You stamp set.

It’s an adorable box filled with a set of cards. This will be one of the projects for my April Botanical Gardens class.
The Botanical Builder Framelits Dies are part of the Botanical Gardens bundle. For this project I used the Wildflower Fields Designer paper for this project instead of the Botanical Gardens Designer paper. The colors are Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss. I love how it turned out. And the little Botanical Garden Jewels are the cutest little things to add just a little bling to a project.
The Botanical Gardens Bundle is priced at $51.75 and earns you a free Sale-A-Bration item – the Botanicals for You stamp set would be perfect. But that ends on March 31st so hurry!

Here is a supply list for the project:

Mar 21, 2016 | 2016 Occasions catalog, Big Shot, Birthday, Cards, Sale-A-Bration 2016 |
There are only 10 more days of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion. Don’t miss out on limited Time stamp sets, Designer Papers and even Glitter Tape! For the next 10 days I’ll be featuring a different Sale-A-Bration item on my blog. These items are available for FREE for each $50 product order that you place between now and March 31, 2016.
Today I have the Party Pants stamp set. It’s a Limited Time set that came out in mid February as a supplement to the original Sale-A-Bration offering. It coordinates with the Balloon Bouquet Punch from the Occasions Catalog. Here is the cute card I made with it this weekend.

I used a sponge dauber to color the dots that were embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
The balloons were stamped with Hello Honey – some are full strength and some are stamped off. I added the little confetti stamp on each balloon. You can’t really see it on the photo but I did put a little clear Wink of Stella on each of those dots. The balloons are tied with Linen Thread and floating through the clouds!
You need to spend $50 in product to get the Party Pants stamp set for free – for this card here is one idea – order the two punches, the embossing folder, sponge daubers, and Linen Thread – that’s $53 and you can choose the Party Pants stamp set as your freebie.
Here are all the supplies:
