At the OnStage Live event in April I hosted a dinner and treat swap. We met at the Red Rock Brewery which seems to have become a tradition now. In the past we have done a card swap and then on top of that some people would bring little treats to give to friends too. So I thought why don’t we just swap little treat ideas so that was what we did and I think everyone really enjoyed it. Usually we go to Salt Lake City in July and the weather has always been really nice but this time we went in April – weather is not so nice. It poured down rain and was really windy when we were trying to get to the restaurant that night.
There were 20 of us and a ton of cute little treat ideas. I know I’ll be using them throughout the year for various things. A couple I’ve already used since I’ve been home. Today I wanted to share mine with you. I made a little Pooh box using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits. They were so cute! The thinlits are in the Occasions catalog and have a stamp set called Playful Pals. If you order this month (May) you can get them as a bundle and save 15%. They will be in the new catalog but not as a bundle anymore. Here are a couple of the in progress photos:
I worked on the like an assembly line – cutting all the various pieces and then working on one part at a time. All the small pieces I stored in empty embellishment containers until I was ready to add them to my box. I used Hello Honey card stock – I thought that was pretty perfect for Pooh Bear but it’s retiring! So if you don’t have Hello Honey you may want to grab some. The little bow ties are Real Red. Here is a look at the front.
On the back I made a little trap door – the handle is a tiny Pool Party Butterfly added with a brad. And darn it if they aren’t retiring those little brads – I bought extras because I use them a lot. Here is a look at the back.
Inside the treat is none other than a little mini bag of gummy bears! Yummy! I love the real gummy bears from Germany. We always had those as kids and I’m glad they now sell them in the US. My kids got to grow up with them too.
Wouldn’t it be cute to add a piglet and tigger box too. Those will have to be future creations.
“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” – Winnie the Pooh
Remember to give someone a small little treat once in a while!
Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s projects feature the In-Color Delightful Dijon. The first one is a 12″ x 12″ Scrapbook page. I thought this color was perfect for Tyler’s Graduation this past December.
Tyler is my middle son and he graduated from college and started his first job. He lives not too far from us in a house with a friend of his from school. Here are some of the things I used on this page:
- Number of Years stamp set and Large Numbers Framelits – these are bundled in the Occasions catalog – but in the new catalog they are no longer a bundle – so get them now
- Timeless Textures stamp set – it’s also in the Occasions catalog and will be in the new catalog too!
- 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack – all the Delightful Dijon prints
- Metallic Foil Doilies – those are staying in the new catalog
- Delightful Dijon Mini Striped Ribbon – coming in the new catalog
This next card is one of my favorites that I created using the Swirly Bird stamp set.
The flowers are stamped with So Saffron for the solid part and Delightful Dijon for the swirly part and then I hand cut them out. The small centers are done the same way. I used the Stampin’ Write Marker to add the little doodle swirls coming out from underneath. Supplies include:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Birthday Blooms stamp set
- Basic Rhinestones
This next card is perfect for my dad or my brother who are both sailors. I was pretty excited about the sailboat pieces in this Swirly Bird stamp set.
The parts of the boat – are made up of 4 different stamps in the set. And the waves are the same image that I used for the kite string on an earlier card. Supplies include:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Sunburst Thinlits Dies
- Linen Thread
- Party with Cake stamp set
My next card also uses Swirly Bird – can you see all the different things you can do with this one stamp set?
This time I actually used the bird! The Baker’s Twine is actually white and I used my sponge to hold it into my Delightful Dijon ink pad so I could dye the twine. You just have to let it dry before you try to add it to a project. Supplies that I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set
- Sheltering Tree stamp set
- Tree Builder punch
- Botanical Builder Framelits
- 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack
- 2-1/2″ Circle Punch – this one is retiring but you can use the new Layering Circles Framelits instead
I actually ended up with an extra Delightful Dijon project. One of my calendar panels –
No new products on this one – it’s the Sheltering Tree stamp set like the other panels. Just using different colors and changing the tree for the Autumn season. I’ll do a post showing the calendar and how it stands and I’m planning to include the calendar so you can print your own. So check back for that.
Thanks for stopping by today.
May 11, 2016 | Big Shot, Cards, Display Samples, Embossing, In Colors, OnStage |
I’m back with more of my Display Samples from the OnStage Live event in Salt Lake City last month. Today I’m going to share my creations that feature the Watermelon Wonder In-Color along with some new products coming in the 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.
For my customers – those that aren’t local the new catalog should be coming to you in the mail. For those in my Stamper’s Club I’ll have them with your club orders. And the rest of my local gals I’m planning a Catalog Kickoff/pickup party (and a BOGO sale) for the first weekend in June. More to come on that later.
On to the samples:
This is a soft flowery card. I clear embossed the little roses onto the white card stock. Then stamped the leaves in the Cucumber Crush ink and covered it quickly with clear embossing powder and heat set. I used the Watermelon Wonder ink and an aqua painter to paint around all the little roses. Then went around all the flowers and leaves with Soft Sky. Here is a list of some of what I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Birthday Blooms stamp set – in the Occasions catalog and it will be in the new catalog
- Tree Builder punch – that is the vellum piece where the words are
- Silver Thread and Silver embossing powder
In my samples today you will see the versatility of the Swirly Bird stamp set. Here is another card using the same set, with a totally different look.
This idea just popped into my head one day – the image reminded me of those big swirly lollipops that you see at the candy store. I stamped with Watermelon Wonder ink on a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock and covered it quickly with clear embossing powder and heat set it. I wanted it to look a little shiny like a lollipop. The bubbles underneath are also from the Swirly Bird stamp set. The die cut pieces are from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. Here is a short list of what I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape – coming in the new catalog (that’s the red striped piece on the right side
- Mini Treat Bag Thinlits
- Banner Triple Punch
And here is one more card with the Swirly Bird set:
It’s another kite – remember the one I made in Cucumber Crush. Here are some of the things I used:
- Swirly Bird stamp set – coming in the new catalog
- Hearth & Home Thinlits – for the window
- Brick Wall embossing folder – for the wall background
- Tree Builder punch – for the clouds
- Greetings Thinlits – these are retiring and unfortunately sold out
And my last Watermelon Wonder project is another panel for the 3D seasonal calendar.
This is the spring panel.
- Sheltering Tree stamp set
- Old Olive Baker’s Twine
- use the new set Project Life Date It for “SPRING” if you don’t have the Project Life Day to Day set that I used here.
Those are my 4 projects featuring Watermelon Wonder.
Thanks for stopping by.

Im heading out Wednesday to Salt Lake City for the OnStage Live event. It’s the new “convention”. Just not called that anymore and the format has changed. There will be new surprises for us and a peek at the new catalog!! I’m blogging from my phone so we shall see how well that works. I won’t be able to share much until I get back but I’ll try to post photos of some of the fun we are having.
For now I leave you with a peek at my messy table. I’m hoping the fairies clean it up while I’m away.
Thanks for checking in.
