Have you seen the new Sale-A-Bration products that were released in February? My favorite one is the Pedal Pusher stamp set. An adorable tandem bicycle with accessories to dress it up. Add a basket and fill it with flowers, bread & wine, or hearts. Add a flag and some cute little birds. Plus it has several cute little greetings with it. Here is a quick card that I created with it showing off the 2014-2016 In Colors which will soon be retiring!
The card base is Hello Honey and I die cut a large white circle with my Circle Collection Framelits. I stamped the bicycle on the circle, added the basket and some flowers and colored those in with the 2014-2016 Stampin’ Write Markers.
I used the 2014-2016 Washi Tape to add two strips across the bottom of the circle and stamped my greeting on a strip of Whisper White card stock – flag the ends with the little banner punch and add to the card with some dimensionals. I finished the card with some Linen Thread.
I want to remind everyone that you need to go ahead and order your ink refills for the 2014-2016 Stampin’ Up! In-colors. Also card stock, markers and any of the other coordinating products before they sell out. They will soon be retiring and these items tend to sell out quickly! My favorites are Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.
Here is a full list of everything I used on this card:
Did you see the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies in the Occasions Catalog? They are on page 7. You can use the dies to make a pop up card or trim the pop-up shape to use as a fun element on a card front, scrapbook page or other project. For this card I did both – the Hip Hip Hooray! pops up on the inside and the Happy Birthday element was added to the front.
I got this card idea from one I found on Pinterest – it’s the best source for ideas and inspiration. Another fun element is the black dots – those are actually the White Perfect Accents colored with a Black Sharpie Marker. It adds a fun touch to this birthday card.
Here is a peek at the inside.
There is one change I would make to this card – I’d add a Bermuda Bay card stock layer on the inside of the card so it would show behind the pop-up. With the white behind it it just doesn’t pop enough. But I already had mine all glued down before I thought of that. The next one I make will have that.
You can purchase the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies and the Party with Cake stamp set as a Bundle and save 15%. I’ve been using them a lot right now to make birthday cards. I’m starting a birthday club in March – if you would like to be part of it and receive a real hand-made card from me in the mail – then email me with your birthday and mailing address and I will add you to my list.
here is a video from my Stamper’s Club meeting where I show them how to use the thinlits and make this card. I didn’t do any editing on the video – I think it turned out ok. I’m working towards posting more videos and to start editing them too. It’s a start.
Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll try to be back soon.
Do you need a simple treat idea for Valentine’s Day? Here is a fun arrow that is easy to make with just a few supplies.
I filled the 1×8 cello bags with M&Ms – use a straw to help get the first couple in there so they line up nicely. I used a 2×2″ square of Glimmer Paper to make the end of the arrow – hmm I wonder what that is called. Punch one end with the banner punch and then take that piece and put it at the other end to cut that into a tip. Then cut some slits in the sides. Add it to the filled bag with glue dots.
The point is a heart – I used the You’re So Sweet bundle – that’s the Mini Treat bag Thinlits.
I love this Flowering Fields Sale-A-Bration stamp set. You can earn it for free right now during the promotion. Mix and match the little flowers. I used it to create a card for a swap I participated in. I used for my team meeting swap this weekend and also for a mail-in swap that I participated in a few weeks ago.
For this card I stamped the flowers in Memento Black ink and then colored them with my Stampin’ Write Markers. I did some faux stitching with my Project Life Journaling Pen.
Here is a full supply list for you – order $50 worth of products from this list and select the stamp set for FREE!
The Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion has started and something a little different this year is there are a few items in the back of the brochure that are only available for a limited time! Two stamp sets and a paper pack that will be available as a free choice through Feb. 15th. These are on pages 16-19 in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. They are the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, Hello stamp set and Sky is the Limit stamp set. Today I’m going to share a few cards I’ve made with Sky is the Limit.
Choose $50 in product (before shipping and tax) and you can select this stamp set for free. The supplies used for this card would get you to that limit.
Here are a couple of other card ideas using this stamp set – it works as a Valentine, for birthdays, for graduations and congratulations on a new job or opportunity. It’s a nice masculine set.
For the birthday card I added the Sweet Lil’ Things washi tape, the small star punch, and the circle framelits. Colors are Baked Brown Sugar, Hello Honey and Pool Party.
On the congratulation card – I made this one for Tyler when he graduated college in December – I added Linen Thread and the Circle Framelits. Colors are Soft Suede with the Very Vanilla.
Be sure to order now while you can get this set before its gone. Just click on one of the products up above and it will take you to my online store.
I wanted to show you an idea with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die. At the OnStage Local event in November the Make&Take that I showed was how to cut the new heart thinlit from Designer Series paper. So everyone had the opportunity to cut one out and then to stamp on it with the coordinating stamp set. We were able to use the Precision Base Plate and the new Big Shot Die brush. Our Make&Takes this time were just elements and not full cards or projects. I turned the heart into a full card and it ended up looking like this:
Here are some tips for you when using this new die – it is the most intricate and detailed thinlit that Stampin’ Up! has released so far and in order to have it come out nice you want to follow these tips.
You have to use the Precision Base Plate to get a clean cut instead of your bottom cutting pad
Pass the die through the Big Shot back and forth 2 times
While in the past SU has not recommend this when cutting something thin like Designer Paper or Vellum use the Magnetic Platform on the bottom of your sandwich instead of the Multi-purpose Platform. Just be careful that you don’t pinch your fingers!
Use the Big Shot Die brush and pad to remove all the pieces.
Here is a video from Stampin’ Up! –
Another tip I have for you is with the stamping. If you look at the stamp set the little flowers have tabs on them to help you line them up for two step stamping. What I decided to do was to create a template to help with stamping on the cut heart each time. I marked on a cut heart where the tabs from the stamps should be in order to line it up. Create your own template so you can use it as a guide each time you stamp.
The little flower dies also match up to the die cut heart. Notice there are 2 larger and 3 small flowers – use the cut or stamped flowers in those spaces. If you look carefully there are also cut out flowers within the heart that you can layer a cut flower underneath. There are 2 large ones and 2 small ones. I need to take a picture of that – apparently I don’t have one.
This bundle doesn’t have to be just for Valentine’s day either. Here I took the same layout for the card I made above and created a birthday and Mother’s Day card with this collection of products.
These were some of my displays at the OnStage event. The birthday card uses the little flower dies and the other card uses the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.
