I don’t think that I shared this card on here yet. It was one of the cards we made last month in my Ornament Keepsakes class. I was showing some different ways to use this stamp set and I found this idea.
For this card the circular ornaments are turned upside down and they become hot air balloons. How cute is that!
Now you can use this stamp set all year long – this is one way to use it for a fun birthday card – choose your colors for the balloons. Ink the stamp – then I wiped off the tip (which in this case becomes the basket) and use a marker to ink it back up. Stamp on Whisper White and then cut out with the matching set of framelits. The clouds are from the cupcake punch. Enjoy!
This is one of the cards that we made at my Hands-on Class last week. We focused on Paper Piercing and using the new piercer, mat and templates. The card idea comes directly from the catalog – it is based on the sample that they have on the page with the piercing tools.
I made a few changes – one was changing the orientation of the card. There is piercing around the Apothecary Accents framelit – using the template in the Essentials pack. There is piercing along the large scallop edglit – that’s also in the Essentials pack. And then straight line piercing around the rest of the layered panel on the card. All the piercing on this card uses the Essentials Paper-piercing pack.
The colors I used are So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango and Always Artichoke. I believe the catalog used Daffodil Delight in their example – I’m not sure why I used a different yellow – but I did. It turned out to be a pretty card.
If you are a member of the Create with Connie & Mary Holiday edition class – my guest designer project posted today – I made a cute card set, matching envelopes and a surprise container to store them all in. But you have to be a member to see it! There are lots of great projects – a new one posted every day – and they all have step by step photo tutorials with them. So go over there and join if you haven’t already….. CLICK HERE.
Tonight is our first My Digital Studio Digi Crop Night – it should be fun – if you are local come join Cindy and I and have a fun evening with friends. Details are on my website and on my facebook page.
Are you ready? I made another video! This was a fun technique that I taught at my Hands-On class last month. The class was all about Baker’s Twine and different ways to use it. In this video I’m going to show you how I used Baker’s Twine to make a cool stamp! I’m still learning how to create videos so sorry for the shadow puppets at the beginning, and for moving off the screen a couple of times. Hopefully you can hear me better – I tried to talk louder – that was the most common comment from my first video. I learn something new every time!
Here is the card that I’ll be showing you. You can see the original post for this card HERE.
I hope you enjoy the video and this fun technique!
Let me know what you think. Could you hear me better?
Today is my In-Color Class – we are making 5 projects featuring the new Stampin’ Up! In-Colors – Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple. The morning class was lots of fun and I’m looking forward to my second class later this evening. I haven’t had a chance to photograph any of the projects yet. But I am showing you another In-Color themed card that I made earlier this week for a different class.
This card uses the Raspberry Ripple card stock base and then a layer of Whisper White. The main stamp set is Betsy’s Blossom and the words are from Petite Pairs. I used Gumball Green for the branch; Midnight Muse for the bird – which is cut out and popped up on a dimensional; Raspberry Ripple for the words; and Primrose Petals for the little flowers. I finished the card with a piece of the new stitched ribbon. Over all it was a quick card.
I’ll share the actual projects from my class next week. I’m having fun playing with the new In-Colors – and right now my favorite is still the Summer Starfruit and second the Midnight Muse. What are you favorites?
I’ll probably offer the class as a To-Go class option – I’ll write up instructions and get the projects photographed. I’ll decide before the weekend ends if it makes sense to do that. And post the details if it does.
I also wanted to let you know that Stampin’ Up! has announced the Artisan Design Team finalists on their Facebook page. And while I did submit and entry I was not selected as a finalist. I do know some of the finalists or know their work and they are talented ladies so I’m sure the entries must have been amazing!! I can’t wait to see them. I’m hoping they show all the entries at convention but we’ll have to see if they do. When I entered a couple of years ago they did have all but one of my projects on display – so I’ll be on the look out for them.
Thank you to Sue and Denean for their orders. Every order helps me get closer no matter what size it is. Thank you guys! Since the race for the Artisan Contest is over now I have to keep pushing to earn this incentive trip – I need about 20 more people to place $55 orders and I have about 8 days left – yikes! Read more here. Thank you to everyone that is helping – this will be an amazing accomplishment for me. I love you guys!
Yeah the weekend is here! And tomorrow we’ll be playing with MDS again for our MDS club – I can’t wait.
The new Stampin’ Up! catalog is here and I have placed orders for my Stamper’s Club, my Open House guests and myself. I can’t wait for UPS to come later this week to deliver all the fun new stuff. Remember the sneak peek we got a couple of months ago – the Summer Smooches Suite – well its back and featured in the new catalog on Pages 80 and 81. It is so very bright and cheerful. Here is a card idea – I got the “sketch” (the layout) from somewhere online so it may look familiar.
The background is Real Red, then there are strips of Lucky Limeade and circles on the end of each strip. There is a strip of the Summer Smooches Designer Series paper on each and then a stamped circle using the Bright Blossoms stamp set. Each flower has a mini silver brad in it and the card is finished with a piece of the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding.
This card will be part of my Card Maker’s Club so come join me at the end of the month if you would like to make one.
My Open House yesterday was lots of fun and so was Stamper’s Club on Friday night. I have to get pictures of all the projects so I can post this week. I’m off to the post office to mail awards for the STARZ group and then to get Ryan from band practice – he made the drum line as a snare drummer this year – I’m very excited for him – he had tried out for this last year and didn’t get chosen, but this year he did.
