Stamper’s Club makes the Advent Shadowbox

For the last two months my Stamper’s Club girls have been working on their Advent Shadowbox Calendars.  I took these pictures while they were working on the different parts.  My original post for this project is HERE. I created this project for the UStamp with Dawn & Friends – I Heart the Holidays class.

I took pictures of all the girls working on their boxes.  I had everything divided between two tables and half the group worked at each table.  They started at the October Club meeting and then finished at the November Club meeting.  Now I need to have them bring them in December so I can take pictures of their finished boxes.

It was a lot of work but I think everyone was very happy with the end result.  I still have one more to finish that I’m giving to someone special.  I didn’t have time to work on mine during the club meetings so I better get a move on.

Have a nice day – thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Treat Making Kit

I designed this fun project for the UStamp with Dawn & Friends Knock Out Punches 2011 online class.

This is a Holiday Treat Making Kit.  I used the Gift Givers stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog for this project.  It is one of my favorites!  The picture shows the box and then a sample of each of the six Holiday treats that you would make.  My idea for this project was to have a ready to go kit full of everything you would need to put together treats for each holiday – except the candy.  So once you have your kit created you just sit back and wait for the holidays to arrive – go buy your candy – fill the bag – assemble and give out the treats.

My box is designed to hold enough for 10 of each of the 6 holidays  – so there are sections for the large fold over tags, the skinny cello bags, and then the tags, ribbon and brads for each of the holidays.  I think it is fun and now I can be ready to mail off treats to my kids, and my nieces and nephews.

There is a complete tutorial for this project in the UStamp with Dawn & Friends Knock Out Punches 2011 class.  Click on image below if you would like to join the class.  You will go to the main site for the UStamp classes.  This one is all about punches and there are over 45 projects with full tutorials – new projects are being posted every day.

I hope to see you there.  This is the first of my two projects and let metell you the other one is super duper cute!!!

Have a great day!

Harvest Memories Scrapbook Layout

Hi everyone!  I am once again so thrilled to be a designer for the Ustamp with Dawn & Friends class that is just starting.  This current class is called Paper Parade and it is all about the paper in the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog – every Designer Series Paper, Simply Scrappin’ Kit, Card Stock and Specialty paper will be represented with projects in this class – it is going to me a wow!  And a big tracking job for Betty to make sure we (the designers) have it all covered.

So today I get to show you the first project that I created for this class – I decided to do a scrapbook layout and also created a coordinating card.  This layout is full of lots of details and fun stuff.  If you join the Paper Parade class you can get the complete tutorial including the pumpkin templates along with at least 40 other projects that all have tutorials.  It is such a great inspiration for every paper crafter.

Are you ready to see it?

The inset picture is the coordinating card.  So are you ready to join the class to get all the details?  I really think you should but that is just me.   Here is some more information about it….

Paper Parade will be focusing on showcasing Stampin’ Up! Paper from the USA/Canada 2011 – 2012 Idea Book & Catalog as well as the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog!!

This is a HUGE Challenge to cover all the papers in 40+ projects…but all the Designers are way excited and are more than up for the challenge!! Keeping in mind that the most important element is the AWESOMENESS of the project, each Designer is working MAGIC with the Stampin’ Up! Papers!!

Since our focus this round is PAPER and not just the upcoming Holiday Season, we  have a VAST VARIETY of FANTASTIC Projects!!

Thanksgiving Table Setting

I have a short detour from my mini cards to show you my second project for the UStamp with Dawn & Friends I ♥ the Holidays class.  I created a Thanksgiving Table Setting using the French Foliage stamp set.

I made a stamped candle, a menu card and holder, place cards, napkin rings and treat boxes.  All in fall colors.   My KSU girls made the candle at our last class and they all loved it.

My last project the Shadow Box Advent Calendar sure did create a stir – I have received tons of emails and questions about the instructions.  For that project and this one the tutorials are part of the Ustamp with Dawn & Friends class – you have to join the class to get the tutorial.  You may not think you want to do that but the cost of the class is minimal compared to how many awesome projects that you will get with step-by-step tutorials for everyone – there have already been 46 projects posted for the I ♥ the Holidays class.  CLICK HERE to go to the site to join the class.    And I am designing for the next class too – it is the Paper Parade – it’s all about the paper in the catalog!

Have a great day and I’ll be back tomorrow to continue with the mini cards….see you then.

Shadowbox Christmas Advent Calendar

Hi all!  I am so excited about this project.  It was something that I started thinking about more than a year ago.  What I started with then was not coming together so I set it aside.  I described the project to my stamp club and they wanted to make one so I tried to order more of the kit online – out of stock – every place I looked in the US was out of stock – for almost a year!  So we never made the project.  Then this year rolled around and Dawn asked me to be a designer for the Ustamp with Dawn & Friends I heart the Holidays class.  And I remembered this project and proposed it to Dawn as one of my class projects – she said yes.  So now I was committed to getting this project done.

But most of a year had passed so the Designer Paper I was using was retired.  My 3d tree using the Big Shot die was also retired.  So I started from square one.  And the frames were now in stock again – things were looking up.  I ordered the Letters from Santa Designer Paper and Quick Accents and got to work.  For the shadow box center I decided I wanted it to look like the inside of a home at Christmas – I made a cross-stitch stocking (actually I’ve made 5) and it had a scene with a fire place, mantel with stockings, a tree, a window, etc.  So this was my “model” for my project.  Then convention came and they showed us the new Holiday Mini catalog – oh my gosh!  There was a stocking stamp set and a matching punch!  I had to have it for this project so I begged Dawn to let me finish my project after the deadline so I could order, receive and create my project and include these new products from the Holiday Mini catalog – she said yes!  And by the way if you are in the US – check out page 3 of the Holiday Mini – that’s me!

So are you ready to see it?  My stamp club will be making these – luckily the frames were in stock and I ordered a bunch.  They may run out soon since all the Ustamp subscribers are ordering them up right now so they can make this project.  If you are a member of the class you can get a full step-by-step tutorial for my project – plus about 40 others – there are some awesome projects on there – visit the site here to join.

Ok – so now are you ready?

I wish you could see it in person – it is one of my all time favorite projects (I still love my Build a Bear Sleeping Bags!).  The tree turned out so well.  I went through several different attempts at creating a 3-d tree and finally settled on this one and I love it!

The little tiny jingle bells are in the new Holiday Mini and so are the Mica Flakes which are the snow in the window.  And I was so surprised at how big the jar of Mica Flakes was – I thought it would be small like our embossing powders – but no this guy is huge – about the size of 3 button containers.

This was my first project for the class and I have one more that will post later.

And now for some more Ustamp class news – I will be designing for the next class too!

The Tutorial is ready

Sorry about that – I created the tutorial and then sent it to be converted and it took so long!  Not sure why, maybe because I have a lot of pictures.  Anyway I have the tutorial for making the Masked Frame card that I posted yesterday.

This idea was something that I saw on a crafting blog while searching the internet earlier this summer.  I wanted a unique and different idea for my card that I was creating for the UStamp swap at Convention.  This was something that I haven’t seen on any of the Stampin’ Up! blogs so I wanted to try my hand at it.  I did have several attempts and trying different combinations of stamp sets and colors before I finally landed on this one.  So here is the tutorial click here.

Have fun trying this out!
