Sep 24, 2020 | Cards, Halloween, Paper Pumpkin |
Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Hello Pumpkin – a fun kit for all things fall!
This kit makes adorable treat holders that can be decorated for any fall occasion – Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just fall colors. There a ton of die cut pieces to mix and match. The cracker box style treats are double sided so you can choose to show the plaid or the striped side. I’m planning to make mine to use at Thanksgiving this year – I’ll put one on every spot at the table – fill them with something yummy – maybe caramels! Yum!
With my left over pieces I decided to make some fun fall note cards. The great thing about the Note Cards & Envelopes – is that they are quick because your card base is cut and scored. All you have to do is decorate the front and add your note on the inside.
Fall Note Cards – Cornucopia
The first thing I thought of was to take the witch hat and turn it into a cornucopia. To do that, flip it over and add lines to the back with a Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends. Use both the dark and light blends and leave some open spots so it looks like a basket or straw and not solid. To give it some texture I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder. To give it more of a cone look I trimmed off part of the brim.
I thought the scalloped edge of the cracker box would be a fun edge on my note card. To do that trim off 1/4″ from the front of the note card. Trim one end off the cracker box. Then glue that to the front lining the bottom edge up with the base of the card back. Stamp Give Thanks. Add flowers, leaves, curly bits, and a little bow to complete the look.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes
- Paper Trimmer
- Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends
- Paper Snips
- Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
- Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder
- Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker
Fall Note Cards – Hello Tiles
The die cut tile pieces were pretty all on their own just added to the front of a note card. Stamp Hello across a strip of Whisper White card stock to add over the front. I actually cut the stamp apart so I could just use the Hello. When I want to use the full phrase I’ll just mount both pieces on the block together again. The coordinating colors of flowers were from the kit. This turned out to be such a clean and simple look.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes, Whisper White card stock
- Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker
Fall Note Cards – Hello Pumpkin
Trim down the center panel of the cracker box and use it as a layer on a card like I did for this third idea. It has the scored lines to give it just a little extra interest. This card is quick and easy to finish with the pumpkin element and a banner from the kit.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes
I hope you like this trio of note cards. Adding a pack of Whisper White Note cards & envelopes makes it easy to get creative with the left over elements and pieces from your monthly kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

I have one final project for you using the Trick or Tweet stamp set. Now that you have all your treats and hopefully you have your costumes ready it’s time to take all your photos on Halloween. And then you’ll need to add them to a scrapbook page!
Today’s project is the scrapbook page that I designed for my October Stamper’s Club meeting. I used the Trick or Tweet stamp set. This is a 12 x 12 page and has spots for 3 photos on it. If my kids were still little I’d have a photo of each one of them in costume on this page. I may need to go dig up some old photos instead.
One little trick on here – it looks like the back has several layers of card stock with a very tiny border. But in reality its a line drawn with the Stampin’ Write marker. I cut out of thin cardboard (I used the pieces that come in the back of the Designer Paper Packs) an 11-1/2″ square. Center the square on my 12″ x 12″ piece of Whisper White card stock and trace around it with the Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Marker. It gives the look of the extra layers without the added card stock.
Supply List
- Trick or Tweet stamp set
- Whisper White 12×12 card stock
- Card stock: Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Basic Black
- Triple Banner Punch
- Starburst Punch
- 2″ Circle Punch
- Memento Black ink
- Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody
- Animal Outing Designer Series Paper
- Animal Friends Thinlits
- Large Letter Framelits
- Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
- Artisan Textures stamp set
- Gorgeous Grape ink
It’s a little hard to see but the Gorgeous Grape strip across the top of the page is stamped with the Artisan Textures stamp set. I didn’t have any patterned paper in that color like I did for the other two strips so I thought I would stamp it instead.
If you are local to me I’m updating my class schedule for November and December. Adding Santa’s Workshop Bingo, Christmas Stamp a Stack classes. Be sure to check out my schedule.

Today I have a cute project for you using the Trick or Tweet stamp set. I designed a door hanger box that you can fill with a treat and leave on a neighbors door or even on your kids bedroom doors. This box has lots of potential for more than just Halloween. On my At Monika’s Place Facebook Page on Monday October 22, 2018 I did a Facebook Live where I showed how to create this door hanger. Be sure to visit my page and watch it.
I used a piece of Basic Black card stock for the base and my trimmer to score and cut to create my box. The piece is 8″ x 8″. Then score on one side at 2-3/4″, 3-3/4″, 6-1/2″, and 7-1/2″. Now turn so the large section is at the top of your trimmer and score at 1″ all the way across. Then move to the 4-1/2″ mark and cut starting at 2-3/4″ out to the end at 8″ – don’t cut through that large section that is at the top of the trimmer. Next trim away the rest of the piece along the 2-3/4″ score line. You will also cut your tabs at the bottom and remove the small piece on the end. Here is a diagram to show you (and watch my Facebook Live too). To create a hole for the door knob use the 2-1/4″ circle punch.
Supply List
- Trick or Tweet Stamp set
- Basic Black card stock
- Whisper White card stock
- Paper Trimmer
- Best Route Designer Series Paper
- Pineapple Punch ribbon
- Memento ink
- Stampin’ Blends: Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate
- Starburst punch
- 2-1/4″ circle punch
- Detailed Trio punch
- 1-3/4″ punch
- 1/2″ circle punch
- 1/8″ Handheld Punch
- Tear & Tape
- Black Baker’s Twine
- Mini Dimensionals
I used Memento ink to stamp my image and colored it in with the Stampin’ Blends. A little trick for the tiny pumpkin use the 1/2″ circle punch to punch it out instead of cutting. I popped it up on a mini dimensional. Here is a closer look.
I filled my box with a peanut butter pumpkin. If my boys were still living at home I’d hang one on each of their bedroom doors for Halloween.

Someone a while back told me about Bat Brownies that they found at the store – so I wanted to find them an use them to make a treat with the Trick or Tweet stamp set and the little elephant dressed like a bat. It took me a while to find them but I did locate them at the big W store. And now recently I’ve seen them in several stores. I think I was just too far ahead of Halloween to begin with.
I basically just created a box that wrapped around the brownie. Our Grid paper is perfect to help create a box for a treat. Lay what you want to cover on the paper and trace around it for the height and width. Flip it on its side to determine the depth. Be sure you include a flap that overlaps for the adhesive to hold it together. I normally start with scraps to do my first measurements and then adjust before cutting for my final piece. After getting the card stock sleeve set just right, add a piece of Designer Series paper around it and then add ribbon and a tag to finish.
Supply List
- Trick of Tweet stamp set
- Granny Apple Green card stock
- Whisper White card stock
- Nature’s Poem Designer Series paper (I used the Blackberry Bliss pattern)
- Memento Black ink
- Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green
- Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon
- 2-1/4″ Circle punch
- Grid Paper
- Paper Trimmer
Now go find bat brownies and make your own little treats. Enjoy!

Hello Stamping Friends. I’m trying to get back on schedule now.
My little dog Aspen was very very sick and admitted to critical care in the specialist Animal Hospital. After two visits to my regular vet I had to take him there to the ER and they admitted him to the hospital. He was there for 4 days and I brought him home for one night and then he had new issues and I took him back to the ER and he stayed for 11 more days. He was one sick doggie.
But he finally turned the corner and I was able to get him last Friday – which happened to by my Fall retreat weekend. I brought him back to the cabin and took care of him there along with all the ladies that attended the retreat. They were a great help to me and loved on him. Now we have been home for a few days and he continues to improve.
So now I’m trying to finish sharing all these cute projects with the Trick or Tweet stamp set. I will try to pick up where I left off.
Today’s project is one of our Mini Pizza Boxes. Inside I found snacks cakes that are little pumpkin shaped cakes – I’m pretty sure they are pumpkin pie flavored. I’m not a pumpkin fan so I didn’t eat one. But any round fairly flat treat will fit in these food safe boxes.
To color the box I used my Sponge Brayer – I used two colors – Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody. I wanted kind of an ombre effect so I used the Pumpkin Pie in the center section where the box folds and used the Mango Melody on either end. Just roll over with the sponge brayer until you achieve the darkness you desire. I did spray the box with plain hairspray – that’s what we used as a sealer in the old days and I still had a can in my craft closet. Then decorate the box!

I originally planned to do a FB live today (Wednesday at 3:00 pm) but my little Aspen isn’t feeling well and I had to take him to the vet this morning. He is still there and I’m waiting on an update so I don’t want to tie up my phone with the live today. I am now planning to do the live on Thursday at 3:00 pm. Catch me on my FB Business page – At Monika’s Place on Thursday afternoon for a Facebook Live showing you some other cute treat ideas with this stamp set. I’m planning to go live at 3:00 pm EST.
For now here is another little project in honor of my sweet little Aspen. I wouldn’t call it fun but he did give me a scare – I’m still waiting on some news though.
The little dog on the Trick or Tweet set is all dressed for Halloween. I found the perfect candy at the store to match – Lemon Lime Twist, Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie. It was the Ghoulish mix from the M&Ms. Since we don’t have a Lemon Lime Twist Blends I did use the Granny Apple Green to color in the cape and band on the hat.
