Sep 3, 2009 | In Colors, Stampin' Up! Events, SU Ribbon |
Here are two of the projects that we made during our Make-n-Take Class at convention. These use the new stamp set Hello Again – which is a cute little 5 image set. And we used the matching Stampin’ Around Wheel called Retro Remix. You can find both of these on page 114 of the catalog.
Two of the new In-Colors were also featured on these projects – Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. You can use a 2-way glue pen to add Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flower. I did not do that on my card. What a nice card to send to someone just to say Hello. I need to make up a whole batch of these and have them ready to send out.

Aug 31, 2009 | Designer Series Paper, Stamper's Club, SU Ribbon |
I’ll be starting a new round of Stamper’s Club in September and I have openings for a few new members. Each month we get together at my house to stamp some great projects. At every meeting one person in the club is the hostess. The hostess brings some snacks to share with everyone and gets all the hostess benefits from the orders that night. Everyone places a minimum order each month and when its your turn to be the hostess you get a hostess set (minimum of one Level 1 set) and the free spending money (minimum of $15). For the months of September, October and November Stampin’ Up! will have a hostess special for workshops that are $250 or more in sales. I have plans this time to start everyone on gifts for the holidays so each meeting will include a gift item (some may have extra supply fees) and then you will also get to make two cards. Our meeting nights are on Friday nights (either the first or second Friday of the month) – so plan to join me for a Girls Night Out once a month in Woodstock, Georgia.
All Club members also get a catalog (returning members already have theirs) and a special gift from me! This time I brought everyone back something from convention – they are the cutest reusable shopping bags and they feature the artwork from the Circle Circus Stamp set. These were quite the popular item from memento mall.
You can also get one of these bags from me by hosting a workshop at your house and inviting your friends to see what Stampin’ Up! is all about. I’d love to share some new ideas with you and help you prepare for the holiday!
We had our final Stamper’s Club meeting for this round after I got back from convention and here is a look at one of the projects that we made.
This cute purse made from a sheet of Designer Series Paper. This project was shared at convention at our Starz meeting by Julia.
I’m planning to make more of these to sell at a Holiday Bazaar that I will be participating in at the beginning of Oct. I think these are perfect teenage girl gift package idea. I’m also going to make up some that are Holiday themed – you could fill it with something to give a neighbor or hostess when you attend a party. Even the simplest gift is special when you present it in a unique way.
There really isn’t any stamping involved with this one unless you add the initials like I did on this example or add a tag to the handle with a little message like “thank you” or “just for you”.
I made this one and sent it to my niece, Emily. I think she will enjoy making these for all her friends.
We’ll be making more fun projects at our club meetings so if you are interested in joining please contact me today.
Have a great Stampin’ Up! Day!

Aug 25, 2009 | Designer Series Paper, Scrapbook Pages, SU Ribbon |
Here is a scrapbook page that my niece, Emily, created. How creative is she? I think I need to recruit her as a demonstrator as soon as she is old enough….
This is an 8×8 page that she just put an assortment of Designer Series Paper strips, ribbon, buttons and staples on.
She added the doodles with a fine tip marker around the edges – all hand-drawn.
Let’s see if I can point out all the Stampin’ Up! supplies that she used:
- Going Gray card stock for the base
- Designer Series Paper from Summer Days Simply Scrappin’ Kit
- Designer Series Paper from Walk in the Park pack
- Rose Red 1/4″ Grosgrain ribbon
- Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon
- Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon
- Baja Breeze Striped Ribon
She added various buttons that are not Stampin’ Up! And used staples too.
Great job Emily!
Have a great day today!

Aug 23, 2009 | Baroque Motifs, Circle Circus, Circle Scissor Plus, class, Demonstrator, Designer Series Paper, Flight of the Butterfly, Great Friend, In Colors, Masking, Stampin' Up! Events, Stamps, SU Ribbon, Techniques, Thoughts & Prayers |
At my class this month I decided to use cards that I received at convention – as I looked through them all I ended up pulling several that were my favorite and realized they represented most of the In-Colors so that ended up being my “theme” for the class. I chose cards that featured the In-Colors. We made 5 cards total (one card featured 2 of the In-Colors) and stamped matching envelopes for each card. I generally kept the card designs exactly the same as the original creator except one that I didn’t have the stamp set for – so I replaced it with one I did have that I thought would give the same results. Lisa came to class and added her own little twist to each card and this afternoon she signed up as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – whoo hoo! Welcome Lisa to my PAWS team.
Most of the cards I used came from the Shoebox swap that I participated in – some of them I know who designed them and others I don’t. So if someone knows the original creator I’ll add their name here – just leave me a comment.
This first card features the Rich Razzleberry In-Color. The stamp set is Thoughts & Prayers and also Flight of the Butterfly. The Designer Series Paper is the Cottage Wall Paper. The original swap from convention used the Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper.
The stamp was inked up using the Stampin’ & Write Markers – Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry (yeah for In-Color Markers!) , and Pale Plum. The Pale Plum card stock was punched with the Eyelet Border Punch.
A little paper clip was tied with a piece of Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Ribbon.
The original card had a smaller “Thinking of You” stamped and punched with the Large Oval punch and then mounted on the Scallop Oval punched piece of Rich Razzleberry. I used the saying from the Thoughts & Prayers set which was larger – so mine is stamped and punched with the Scallop Oval and then mounted on a Wide Oval punched piece of Rich Razzleberry. Either one looked great.
The envelope was stamped to match the card.
I don’t know who designed this one – it was from the Shoebox Swap at the Shilo Hotel on Tuesday night before convention.
The second card features the Melon Mambo In-Color. The stamp sets I used was Baroque Motifs and Sincere Salutations.
This card was also from the Shoebox Swap and was designed by Janice Felty. Her original design used the large flower image from the Razzle Dazzle stamp set. Since I didn’t have that set I replaced it with one that I did have.
The Whisper White layer is punched on one side with the scallop edge punch. Then we positioned it on the front of the card and punched through the Whisper White and Melon Mambo card stock with the Scallop Oval punch to create a window.
Using a piece of Window Sheet and White StazOn ink the greeting from Sincere Salutations was stamped and then sandwiched between the two pieces of cardstock to make the window.
The Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon was tied in a knot and then wrapped around the front of the card and secured on the inside. The envelope was stamped to match the card.
This third card features Bermuda Bay In-Color. The stamp set is Great Friend that originally debuted in the Occasions Mini Catalog and is available in the new catalog too.
The card base on this one is Whisper White and then we cut three panels to adhere to the front – Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip, and Old Olive.
The butterfly is stamped on a Whisper White circle and mounted on a Chocolate Chip circle. For my class the circles were cut with the Circle Scissor Plus cutting system. But the original card used the Big Shot and the Circles #2 Originals Die. Since I don’t have that die we cut our circles.
Three silver brads were added up in the top right corner.
This card was designed by Michele Schmidt for the Shoebox Swap. Michele was also one of my roommates at convention.
This next card features the Dusty Durango In-Color. The stamp set is a Hostess Level 2 set called Asian Artistry. This card uses a masking technique to create the circle which was inked using a Brayer and the Dusty Durango ink.
The bird image was then stamped with Black StazOn ink and the right edge of the circle was sponged with Soft Suede ink to create the shadow.
Some highlights were added with the White Gel Pen to the leaves. We also used an Aquapainter to “paint” the bird – this causes some of the ink to lighten up.
The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched with the Word Window punch and layered on some Basic Black card stock that was punched with the Modern Label punch.
I do not know who designed this card – so if you know please leave me a comment and I’ll add it here. This was also a card we made at the Shoebox swap on Tuesday night. I told you I got some great cards that night….
And the last card features the Soft Suede and Crushed Curry In-Colors. This is the Circle Circus stamp set and I also used Teeny Tiny Wishes in my class. The Designer Series Paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade set.
The images were stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and punched out with various circle punches. There is a small Crushed Curry flower that was punched using the Trio Flower punch and has a Clear Rhinestone Brad in the center.
Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon was wrapped around the Designer Paper before it was adhered to the front of the card.
The greeting was punched with the Modern Label punch. We stamped a matching envelope.
This card was designed by Elizabeth Martinez and we made this at the STARZ meeting on Wednesday night of Convention.
Thanks to all these ladies for sharing their card designs at convention.
If you live near Woodstock, Georgia I hope you will join me for my next class. Check my calendar to see what’s coming up.
Happy Stampin’!

Aug 21, 2009 | Big Shot, In Colors, SU Ribbon |
The Ribbon Shares are all ready. If you had one getting mailed to you – it is in the mail today. The others are here at my house. A few are missing Rich Razzleberry ribbon which has been on backorder since late July. The ribbon finally shipped this week so I will have it soon.
I made a box out of Soft Suede card stock and a window sheet. The flower is one of the Big Shot embosslit flowers – Simple Flower. And the leaves are the Little Leaves Sizzlet. All the ribbon was wrapped around my fingers and then tied with white crochet thread. I added a little tag punched with the scallop oval. Some white gel pen accents finished everything off. And a clear rhinestone brad is in the center of the flower.
Enjoy.
Thanks for visiting today!
Tomorrrow I’ll post the cards from todays class.

Aug 20, 2009 | Big Shot, Circle Circus, Designer Series Paper, Embellishments, In Colors, Stampin' Up! Events, SU Ribbon |
At convention I attended a group meeting for the STARZ group – that includes everyone in Wendy Randall’s downline. Wendy, Sue and I traveled from Georgia to attend convention. Most of the others in Wendy’s downline were from California and a few from Texas and Arizona. I enjoyed visiting with all of these girls because I don’t normally see them the rest of the year. At our meeting Wendy did an awesome presentation on Taking Better pictures and Scrapbooking. We saw a few demos and then there were 5 projects for us to make – each one was designed by a different person. I presented my Tile Card – you can click HERE to see it.

Michelle's Circle Circus card
There were two other cards that used the Circle Circus stamp set – one designed by Michele Scileppi – the colors were Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Old Olive. And she used the Big Shot dies – Daisy #2 and the Top Note for the embellishments on the card. Her example also had a tag hanging off the hemp cord but I left that off of mine.

Elizabeth's Circle Circus card
Another Circle Circus card was designed by Elizabeth Martinez. The colors she used were Soft Suede and Crushed Curry. We used a variety of circle punches to punch out the different images in the stamp set. The Crushed Curry print from the Razzleberry Lemonade paper was added across the font of the card. Then the Soft Suede ribbon and a brad finished off the card. We will be making this card in my class on Friday.

Wendy's Mini Scrapbook
Wendy presented a mini scrapbook made with the new Thoroughly Modern file folders and stored inside one of the new gusseted envelopes. The colors on the folders are Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Rose Red and Sahara Sand. We decorated it using the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and the new Butterfly punch. Ribbon accents were added. One of the inside pages was folded over to create a pocket.

STARZ meeting - Fancy Favor Box w/Love Notes
And one of the California girls (sorry I’m not sure who) showed us a fancy favor box filled with love notes. The colors were Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White. The Razzleberry Lemonade paper was used to add the accents on the box and mini cards. Some jumbo eyelets and ribbon were used to create the handle. The box is cut using the new Fancy Favor Box die for the Big Shot.
After everyone shared their project we all worked on them the rest of the night. It was a fun meeting.
