Ribbon Share – Polka Dot Ribbon

Ribbon-shareThe Ribbon Shares are all ready.  If you had one getting mailed to you – it is in the mail today.  The others are here at my house.  A few are missing Rich Razzleberry ribbon which has been on backorder since late July.  The ribbon finally shipped this week so I will have it soon.

I made a box out of Soft Suede card stock and a  window sheet.  The flower is one of the Big Shot embosslit flowers – Simple Flower.  And the leaves are the Little Leaves Sizzlet.  All the ribbon was wrapped around my fingers and then tied with white crochet thread.  I added a little tag punched with the scallop oval.  Some white gel pen accents finished everything off.  And a clear rhinestone brad is in the center of the flower.

Enjoy.

Thanks for visiting today!
Tomorrrow I’ll post the cards from todays class.

STARZ meeting projects

At convention I attended a group meeting for the STARZ group – that includes everyone in Wendy Randall’s downline.  Wendy, Sue and I traveled from Georgia to attend convention.  Most of the others in Wendy’s downline were from California and a few from Texas and Arizona.   I enjoyed visiting with all of these girls because I don’t normally see them the rest of the year.  At our meeting Wendy did an awesome presentation on Taking Better pictures and Scrapbooking.  We saw a few demos and then there were 5 projects for us to make – each one was designed by a different person.    I presented my Tile Card – you can click HERE to see it.

Michelle's Circle Circus card

There were two other cards that used the Circle Circus stamp set – one designed by Michele Scileppi  – the colors were Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Old Olive.  And she used the Big Shot dies – Daisy #2 and the Top Note for the embellishments on the card.  Her example also had a tag hanging off the hemp cord but I left that off of mine.

Elizabeth's Circle Circus card

Elizabeth's Circle Circus card

Another Circle Circus card was designed by Elizabeth Martinez.  The colors she used were Soft Suede and Crushed Curry.  We used a variety of circle punches to punch out the different images in the stamp set.  The Crushed Curry print from the Razzleberry Lemonade paper was added across the font of the card.  Then the Soft Suede ribbon and a brad finished off the card.  We will be making this card in my class on Friday.

Wendy's Mini Scrapbook

Wendy's Mini Scrapbook

Wendy presented a mini scrapbook made with the new Thoroughly Modern file folders and stored inside one of the new gusseted envelopes.   The colors on the folders are Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Rose Red and Sahara Sand.  We decorated it using the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and the new Butterfly punch.  Ribbon accents were added.  One of the inside pages was folded over to create a pocket.

STARZ meeting - Fancy Favor Box w/Love Notes

And one of the California girls (sorry I’m not sure who) showed us a  fancy favor box filled with love notes.  The colors were Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  The Razzleberry Lemonade paper was used to add the accents on the box and mini cards.  Some jumbo eyelets and ribbon were used to create the handle.  The box is cut using the new Fancy Favor Box die for the Big Shot.

After everyone shared their project we all worked on them the rest of the night. It was a fun meeting.

Convention Swap – Tile Card (from Blog Tour)

This card is the one I featured on the Royal Blog Tour and also used as my project for the STARZ meeting at convention.  We held our meeting on Wed. night and there were 5 of us that presented projects for everyone to make.  The Tile Card was mine and here are the details on making this card:

tile-cardSupplies:

  • Stamp Sets: Circle Circus, Elegant Thank You
  • Inks: Soft Suede
  • Paper: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Very Vanilla
  • Other:  Paper Cutter with cutting & scoring blade, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Instructions:

  1. On 3” x3” piece of Very Vanilla card stock score every 1” in both directions creating a tic-tac-toe board.  Fold on the score line and drag across the Soft Suede ink pad to create the lines.  Also drag the outer edges of the square to add Soft Suede ink.
  2. Use a stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the image from the Circle Circus stamp set using Soft Suede ink inside each of the squares. Also stamp one on scrap piece of Very Vanilla and cut out the inside portion to attach with a Stampin’ Dimensional over the center image.
  3. Adhere the Very Vanilla piece to the More Mustard piece.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add to the front of the Soft Suede card base.  Position towards the top to allow room for the greeting.
  4. Stamp “Thank You” in Soft Suede ink on the bottom of the card.
  5. Tie Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon around the left edge of the card at the fold and tie in a knot.

Today is Sunday and I am on the plane back from convention.

Hope you have a happy weekend!

Convention Swap – Envelope Card

At our STARZ meeting at convention we also had a swap with everyone – 30 of us – so I made this card for my last class and decided to use it as my swap card for the meeting.  envelope-card

This card is made out of a medium envelope.  You seal the envelope shut and then cut off one end – the small piece becomes the lid which I then scalloped the edge on – sponged and tied the ribbon around.  My colors are Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry.  This photo is a bit dark so it looks brighter in person.  The bottom portion becomes a pocket – stamp on it first then run it through the crimper.  This causes it to shrink up just enough that it fits into the lid.  I decorated the front with the butterfly from the Great Friend stamp set.  The grass is from Inspired by Nature.

Then inside my pocket I have a place for a note. envelope-card-open I did punch out a half circle from the top of the pocket so you can easily get out the insert.  This was also decorated with the Great Friend set and the grass.  I sponged all my white edges with the Rich Razzleberry ink.

I hope all the STARZ girls like this swap card.  There should be 30 of us at the meeting so I’ll have their swap cards to share with you after convention.

Happy Stampin’!

Great Friend card

Here is another STARZ swap card.  This one was designed by Michelle Scileppi.  Another set that I really like – it must be the butterflies!starz-swap-4

Here is a list of supplies:

  • Dusty Durango card stock
  • Soft Suede card stock
  • Certainly Celery card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Vellum card stock
  • Great Friend stamp set
  • Soft Suede classic ink
  • Certainly Celery classic ink
  • Whisper White craft ink
  • White Gel Pen
  • Distresser tool
  • Big Shot Die Cut machine
  • SU Little Leaves Sizzlet Die
  • 1-3/4″ circle punch

But this card has a surprise – it is a pop-up on the inside…. starz-swap-4bhow fun is that.

If you remember last week I posted a tennis card and this is the card I modeled it after.

We saw this kind of pop-up card at convention last year but I hadn’t tried to make one until I saw Michelle’s card.  Sometimes it is better to have an actual example in hand to work from that just a picture.  That’s why swap cards are so great.  I’m headed to convention next week and will be back with lots of swap cards.  I’m participating in a Shoebox swap on Tuesday night – I’ll tell you more about that later.  We have a STARZ meeting at convention and we’ll do a swap there as well as make some projects that various demos are sharing.  And then we’ll have Make-n-Takes during convention and general swapping with any demos we run into along the way – at the airport, at the hotel, walking the around Salt Lake City, in between classes, standing in line, …… you get the picture.

Have a great weekend!
