One more fun card from my Cards that Move class – a Telescoping Card. This idea was not from convention or from Shelli but from Julie Davison.
It’s a Halloween card and this is what it looks like closed. I used the Circle Framelits die set to create it. This is what it looks like open –
Each of the circles rotates to open up. The circles are connected with the silver mini brads. So when I made this card and was prepping for my class I just pulled out regular Very Vanilla envelopes. I never tried to put the card in the envelope and when I was having my morning class – guess what? The largest circle in the die set which is the base of this card is too big! Oops. Well guess what I have that Stampin’ Up! just started selling that came to my rescue????
The Envelope Punch Board!! Yes it did – I pulled it out along with the rest of my Witches Brew Designer Series paper and in just a couple of minutes we had custom made envelopes to fit our telescoping card!! Yipee!

I’m so glad I had that Envelope Punch Board to rescue me! And look how cute the matching envelope is. I measured my card by placing it on my grid paper to see how big I needed my envelope to be. Cut the Designer Paper to the size that it said. Placed it on the punch board at the correct score line – then punch, score, rotate – line it up with the little marker along the score line, then punch, score and rotate. Repeat for the other two sides. Corner round all the points. And then fold it up into an envelope. It just take a few minutes – how great is that!
Here is a closer look at the bottom panel of the card –

Here is a quick list of what I used to create this card:
- Witches Brew Designer Series Paper
- Witches Brew Washi Tape
- Tags 4 You stamp set
- Bracket Label punch
- Circle Framelits die collection
- Gorgeous Grunge stamp set
- Seasonal Sayings stamp set
- Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Pumpkin Pie card stock
- Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Pumpkin Pie ink
- silver mini brads
- Summer Starfruit stitched ribbon

Everything is available to order in my online store.
It was a fun card to create. Let me know if you make one.

Sep 18, 2013 | Designer Series Paper, family, Holiday Catalog 2013, Stamper's Club |
It is so nice of the weather to start feeling like fall during Fall Break. Well Ryan has fall break right now – a week off from school – the rest of the family doesn’t. I guess once some of the kids are in college it is hard to get everyone together on the same schedule. Ryan may not be too happy with me about the activities I had planned for his break week. We have been spending some time together – but all of it revolves around doctors appointments. I’m making up for lost time with busy schedules he was due for just about everything and with a busy after school schedule due to Marching Band it really limits when I can get appointments – so this was the week to catch up.
It is starting to look like fall around here – at least all the leaves are starting to fall off the trees – the temps have been lower this week and there has been a breeze so it has been nice. I think it will be nice weather for my fall retreat which is in two weekends – I can’t wait. So with fall in the air I have a “fall themed” project to share.
It is a jumbo clip – photo holder – on the card stock you can add a photo to display. I made one of these years ago and have it in my bathroom – it actually has a picture of the dogs – Aspen & Magnolia. This one I plan to add a picture of my boys – I just have to decide which one. We made this at my Stamp Club this month. Here are a few details –
- I bought the jumbo clip on line a long time ago so I don’t remember exactly where I got them – they were prepainted white.
- I covered the front and back with a piece of the Burlap Ribbon
- on the front I added a strip of the Sweater Weather Designer paper, cut a leaf from a different print – sponged the edges, stamped the acorn from Truly Grateful stamp set – it’s also sponged with Soft Suede ink inside and on the edges after it was cut out, tie some linen thread around the acorn

- for the photo mat I used Chocolate Chip card stock
- add a strip of the Sweater Weather Design Paper to the side
- I pierced 4 holes using the piercing pad, template and piercer and then used Linen Thread and cross-stitched through and tied in a bow in the corner.
- stamp “Thankful for” from the Truly Grateful stamp set and punch out with the Modern Label punch, sponge the edges and add to the corner

I hope you like it. I got the idea for this project from our demonstrator magazine – Stampin’ Success – it had a similar project using two small clothespins and I remembered I had these big ones so I wanted to use those to create something similar. I like the way it turned out and now need to decide on which photo to add to it.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Now this is a FUN idea! I’m planning to make more of these. It is an idea that I got from Stampin’ Up! Make your own twist ties with Washi Tape! Since our Stampin’ Up! products coordinate you can now coordinate a twist for your treat bags to match your tags – fun!

Here is how you make the twist tie
- get a piece of floral wire – the one I used was 20 gauge
- cut the wire to the length you want for your twist tie
- get a piece of Washi tape just a little longer than your piece of wire
- lay the wire in the center of the Washi tape
- Put another piece of Washi tape on top of the first – sandwiching the wire in between
- finish the edges – I snipped mine into little flag points
- now twist it around your project
Here is a closer look at the twist tie from the back of the project.

I used a matching piece of Washi Tape (actually half a piece) on the front of the tag that I tied to the treat bag.
I think this is a really fun idea and I already have plans for some more twist ties using different washi tape. Oh the Washi tape that I used here is from the Season of Style pack.
That is project # 11 from my Washi Tape class – seriously I went overboard – and I’m still not done! I think I have 2 more projects. They are all pretty quick to make and so much fun.

Aug 30, 2013 | Cards, Halloween, Holiday Catalog 2013, Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat, Washi Tape |
Have you seen the new Witches’ Brew Washi Tape in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog? It’s a fun collection. This is another quick and easy Washi tape note card –

For this one the Washi Tape is overlapped on the note card and then I stamped directly on the tape with Black StazOn ink – the little “happy halloween” from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I also stamped in once above the tape too.
I added a tiny Pumpkin Pie button tied with some Linen Thread.
To seal the envelope I think the skull Washi Tape would be really fun to use. Really a very quick an easy card. That makes project #7 from my Washi Tape class – and yes there are still more to come!
You can shop online here at my website Online Store.
I’m extending the registration deadline for the retreat until after the holiday weekend – Registrations due August 31st September 3rd for the September 27th – 29th – Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat

I’d like to introduce some new products from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday mini catalog –
- Truly Grateful stamp set
- Sweater Weather Designer Series paper
- Witches’ Brew Designer Washi tape
- Envelope Liners Framelits Dies
I used all four products on this note card that we made for Stamper’s Club this month. The Envelope Liners Framelits dies include three sizes to line the envelopes that we sell in our catalog – the little square envelopes, the note card envelopes and the medium sized envelopes. You use these with your Big Shot and standard cutting pads.
On this card we put the Washi tape on the card and then stamped “Truly Grateful” directly on the tape. If you want to learn more fun ways to use Washi tape be sure to come to my class this Friday, August 16th – Wild about Washi! We will be having fun making a variety of cards using Washi tape in different ways. The class is offered twice on Friday – at 10:00 am and at 7:00 pm – go HERE to rsvp on my website for the class you want to attend.
