May 21, 2014 | Cards, Occasions Catalog 2014, Retired List |
Just a quick post to show you a quick little card. The note cards & envelopes are great when you need something fast. Add a stamp and a greeting, bring in some punched elements and you are good to go.

The flowers are the Petite Petals stamp set and punch with an added little center using the Itty Bitty Shapes flower punch (its retiring and one of my favorites!). Here is a close up for you.

May 20, 2014 | Cards, In Colors, Retired List, sympathy |
It seems these last few weeks I have had many family and friends that have experienced a loss of someone in their lives. I have been trying to create some sympathy cards to send out and for some reason its just not easy to do. I created this card for my hands-on class using some of the retiring products from Stampin’ Up!

This card uses the very pretty Field Flowers stamp set and I paired it with the So Sorry stamp set – both are on the retired list. Since the card base is so dark – Chocolate Chip – I added a Whisper White layer on the inside of the card for writing a short note. The Gumball Green and Primrose Petals are two of the retiring In-Colors. And the Dahlia’s are retiring too – they make a cute little flower accent.
Here are all the products I used. The So Sorry stamp set is already sold out. And the Banner Punch will be available in the new catalog June 2nd.
I took some new bluebird pictures today – I still need to download them to the computer so I can share them with you. Have a great day!
May 19, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Retired List |
Oh Hello! Really I’m still here….I just had a super busy week and weekend! It was the weekend of the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat at my house. Last week I was finishing up the preparations, shopping and cleaning up before everyone arrived. It was a fun long weekend of time with friends stamping and scrapping and hanging out. The retreat started Thursday evening and we finished up in the early afternoon on Sunday. Let me tell you that I was tired and went to bed early last night and slept for 11 hours!! You can see pictures from the retreat on my Facebook Business page – and I’ll be posting more here on my blog – the Make&Take projects and the “pillow gifts” for everyone that attended.
For today I have a card to share from my last hands-on class featuring retiring stamps and products.
Here are some details:
- So Saffron Card Base – stamp with the So Saffron ink
- Oh Hello stamp set (retired list) – stamp the oval, the Oh, Hello on Whisper White
- Use Stampin’ Write markers – So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz – to color flower and stamp on Whisper White and on the envelope
- Cut oval image and flower with the Oval Framelits, Cut the Oh Hello with the Banner Framelits
- Two tea lace doilies glue together in the center with some snail adhesive and then attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The Banner is attached flat to the oval. Both oval die cut pieces are on Dimensionals and added to the front of the card.
- Add Candy Dots.

Here is the list of supplies. The Oh, Hello stamp set is on the retired list – so get it before it’s gone.
Enjoy your day!

Look at this cute little note card that we made in my Saying Good-bye Hands On class.

As I was creating for my Saying Good-bye class I had a sheet of stamped flowers on my craft table left over from the mini scrapbook project we made during Stamper’s Club. And I thought – oh I should just turn that into a quick little note card. So that is what I did. Here are the details:
- Note Cards & Envelopes (these were listed on the retired list but there are also some in the new catalog)
- Gingham Garden Washi Tape (retired list)
- Bright Blossoms stamp set (retired list)
- Sweet Essentials stamp set (retired list)
- Island Indigo Baker’s Twine (retired list)
- Large Oval punch
- Scallop Oval punch
- Basic Rhinestones
- Island Indigo & Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker
- Daffodil Delight ink pad

And an update on the Bluebirds for you. The babies hatched on Mother’s Day! Now wasn’t that appropriate! She is going to be a busy mom with 6 babies – glad she has help from dad and her other babies. I did go buy some meal worms yesterday afternoon so it would be a little easier for them to find some food for all those babies.

in the morning on Mother’s day – 4 have hatched – 2 eggs

later on mother’s day – I thought all 6 had hatched but there is a faint hint of blue so there may still be one egg under the pile here

hungry babies on Tuesday May 13th
Have a great week!

May 6, 2014 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Catalog 2014, Retired List |
I made a second version of this card that is perfect for Mother’s Day.

For this one I wanted to use the Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper. I switched my neutral to Whisper White to coordinate with the paper and changed the card base to Smoky Slate.
For the Baker’s Twine – I actually decided there were several options –
- use Whisper White – as is
- use Whisper White – dye it Gumball Green – use a Stampin’ Sponge to hold the twine in the ink pad as you pull it across, repeat until the twine is the color you want it. Let dry.
- use the Island Indigo Baker’s Twine.

Don’t need a Mother’s Day card – then switch out the greeting to be a birthday card or thank you or whatever you might need. Remember these items are on the retiring list or going away at the end of the Occasions catalog at the end of May –
- Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper
- Island Indigo Baker’s Twine
- Itty Bitty Punch pack – that’s the center of the flowers
- Gumball Green in-color

May 1, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Designer Series Paper, Masculine, Occasions Catalog 2014 |
I think the Just Sayin’ Stamp set and the Word Bubble Framelits are a fun combination from the Occasions catalog. This Pinterest inspired card is one that the girls made at my team meeting this past weekend. Literally something I threw together at the last minute (they laugh at me for that).

This is how I made it –
- The card base is Bermuda Bay.
- For the Whisper White layer place it on the cutting mat on top of the Magnetic Platform and then add the word bubble framelits – I used 3 different ones. Run it through the Big Shot to cut. Set the cut pieces aside and use on another project – for this one we are using the negative piece.
- I cut pieces of the Kaleidoscope Designer paper – I think mine were 2″ x 3″ pieces. glue them to the back behind each of the cut holes. Where the paper extends out beyond the edge of the white – trim – these will be the pieces that get layered on the front – and I did not worry about them being straight or perfect at all. They were what they were.
- Layer the White on a piece of Basic Black and add to the card base.
- I hand drew the lines/dots around the cut outs.
- Add the leftover strips to the front – I used the opposite sides from what I used in the word bubbles.
- I stamped the Hey There on another piece of White and cut it. Alternately you could use one of the shapes that you cut out and try to line the stamp up – or stamp it before you cut and that would save paper – unless you want a different shape. Add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Add some coordinating Candy Dots – for this one I used Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.

Thanks for stopping by today!
