Jun 25, 2016 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Thank You |
Questions 3 & 4 on my catalog scavenger hunt had to do with the Product Suites in our catalog.
3. Product Suites are coordinating products that make it easy to get creative with matching products. How many Product Suites are in the new catalog?
Here is a list of all the product suites – there are 14 of them:
- Festive Birthday – bright & playful – pg. 10/11
- This Christmas – traditional & elegant – pg. 26/27
- Thankful Thoughts – gratitude with attitude – pg. 38/39
- Affectionately Yours – florals & copper – pg. 44/45
- A Little Foxy – cute baby critters – pg. 56/57
- Moroccan – artfully exotic – pg. 66/67
- Floral Boutique – hand-painted florals – pg. 76/77
- Pop of Pink – patterns that pop – pg. 84/85
- By the Shore – soft & nautical – pg. 92/93
- Serene Scenery – inspired by nature – pg 102/103
- Playful Palette – modern & colorful – pg. 118/119
- Irresistibly Floral – just add ink – pg. 126/127
- Blooms & Bliss – whimsical florals – pg. 138/139
- Fruit Stand – fresh fruit & flowers – pg. 148/149
4. Which Product Suite is your favorite?
My favorite is the Little Foxy suite – I love those little critters. I also like the Serene Scenery – the nature feel is definitely me. I just haven’t had a chance to play with it yet.
I’m struggling a little with the Playful Palette – it’s a little too much color something or not colors that I like together. I’m not quite sure. But I did create this fun card and I do LOVE it.

I used the Playful Palette Paper Stack and Card Stock pack. I did use a different stamp set – I don’t have the one in the suite.
I punched circles (or use the Layering Circle Framelits) from the different patterns of paper – crumpled them up and then semi flattened them out to glue the centers together. There is nothing perfect about this flower – just layer the circles up however and it makes a fun flower. The leaf is also a circle punch just folded to create a leaf.
Enjoy.

Jun 24, 2016 | Big Shot, Cards, In Colors |
The second question on my New Catalog Scavenger Hunt was –
We introduced 5 new In-Colors for 2016 – 2018. Which one is your favorite?
The new colors are
- Dapper Denim
- Emerald Envy
- Flirty Flamingo
- Peekaboo Peach
- Sweet Sugarplum
Each year Stampin’ Up! introduces five new In Colors, which are available for two years. So far I really like Dapper Denim – I’ve used it a bunch and also the Peekaboo Peach. Which one is your favorite?
I think Emerald Envy is going to big for the holidays but here is a fun little card featuring it that is not a holiday card. I’m not quite ready yet to think about the holidays. Summer is just getting started!

I used the fun new Hostess stamp set called Love You Lots along with the new Layering Squares Framelits. I love all the sizes of plain and scalloped squares. There are 19 dies in this set!
The Designer paper I used is from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. It has three of our new in-colors in it. But I opted to go with one of the black patterns for this card. It looks so good with the Emerald Envy. I watercolored my frog which gives him a lot of variation in color.
I hope you like this little guy. You can get this stamp set free if you earn Stampin’ Rewards – just host a party or place a qualifying order. Contact me for more info – or visit my website – www.monika.stampinup.net.

Jun 23, 2016 | Stamper's Club |
I tried something brand new this year – held a Stamper’s Club Retreat at a cabin in the Mountains. My Stamper’s Club has been active for many years and we have talked about a retreat in the past and this year it finally happened!!
We had so much fun spending the weekend together crafting. We stayed at a cabin called Sweetbriar Ridge Retreat. It is set up for 8 people to craft away the weekend. We even decided to have all our food catered. It was delicious and so easy. Everything was there ready for us – we didn’t have to plan the meals, go shopping, haul it up there, or prepare it. Just pull it out and put it in the oven or on the table!

Everyone brought their own things to work on – Project Life, Paper Pumpkin, card making, scrapbooking, project kits, whatever they wanted. I brought the supplies for the projects for our club meeting while we were there. And I brought everyone little “pillow” gifts. Plus we played games and had prizes for everyone too! Everyone loved it so much we are booked for next year to do it all again!.
Here are the little gifts I gave everyone.

A little welcome flower on everyone’s table. I used the All About Everything stamp set that was a freebie in one of our Paper Pumpkin kits.

A little bag that had a notepad inside. The stamp set is the You’re So Sweet stamp set that coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. Although I didn’t use the thinlits for this project but the Kraft Tag a Bag Gift bags.

We were there on Mother’s Day. And I gave everyone this sweet little paper purse filled with chocolate truffles. I even had my mom with me for the weekend so we got to spend time together. The flower and punch were from the old catalog – Bloom for You and the Fun Flower Punch. The purses were made from a 12×12 piece of designer paper.

Everyone with their make&take projects – we made a set of cards and a wood stamp case as a holder for them.

We missed a couple of the girls that couldn’t join us but I’m hoping everything can come next time.
Thanks for visiting today.

Jun 20, 2016 | 2-Step Stampin', Cards |
Hi All!
The winner of the Catalog Scavenger hunt from last week was Cyndie S!
Thanks for playing along.
The first question was What three things can you do with your Photopolymer stamps?
- Mix & Match – You can create your own stamp combinations by placing several stamps on a block and stamp at the same time.
- Bend it – because they are flexible you can bend the stamps to give you more create possibilities.
- Two-step – Since the photopolymer is see-through it makes it easier to layer the images which we call two-step Stampin’. There are even some 3-step sets. So each layer adds a little more detail to your final image.
Below are some examples:

And here is a card I made using the Foxy Friends bundle. This is a Two-Step set. You can layer the different images to create a variety of animals besides the fox. However for this card I did make a red fox. I’ll have more cards to share with you using this fun bundle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jun 16, 2016 | Cards, Masculine |
One of the brand new sets in the catalog is called Thoughtful Banners. It’s on page 73 and coordinates with the Duet Banner Punch. You can even buy them as a bundle and save 10%. The set has a ton of words so you can create cards for many different occasions – I made one for Father’s Day.

This could easily be changed for just about anything – just choose different words.
I used my grid paper as a guide when I stamped my lines – just line it up and then you can use the lines as a guide for placement. The lines are Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate. I used the little double arrow head to just scatter some accents around.
The words are stamped in Basic Gray ink with Father’s Day on a scrap piece that was punched out. This set is photopolymer and one of the fun things to do with this style of stamp is that you can bend it. So I bent the words Father’s Day to fit inside my curved banner! The other words are stamped directly on the stripes.
I tied a bit of linen thread around the top and then attached it to a Crumb Cake card base. Play around with some other colors and change the words to make lots of fun cards.
Don’t forget to play along with my scavenger hunt – I posted it on Monday.
Also don’t miss the two specials that Stampin’ Up! has going on right now:
- More Stamps Please – get 2 free stamp sets added to your starter kit if you join my team in June.
- Extra Stampin’ Rewards – earn an extra $35 in Stampin’ Rewards with a qualifying party (or order).
Learn more about both of these by visiting my website HERE.
