Beaded Flower

When I had my scrapbook class at the end of March we used the Daisies #2 flower die with the Big Shot to create So Saffron flowers for one of the pages.  We used only the small and medium flowers so I had the large ones left and had it laying on my craft table all week.  I also had the new Jumbo Grommets from the Occasions Mini catalog that I had been looking at for ideas.  Well I decided to take one and put it in the middle of that flower and it fit perfectly!  Then I had this idea to add the Bead Duo large beads to the center.  So now I had to turn it into a card.  So after pulling out different colors and Designer Papers – it turned out the Washington Apple paper had the perfect flower print on it.  I finally came up with this card:beaded-flower

Thanks So Much Treat Pouch

thanks-pouchSorry for the late post today.  It is spring break week for the boys and we are visiting my parents for a few days.  Greg was working on their computer after we got here and now it is all up and running again.  So my post is really late.

This project was another one that we made at the Regional Seminar in Orlando.  It uses the Soft Summer stamp set from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I made another pouch back in February that was this same style.  You add a cello bag to the inside of this fold over pouch.  The flower is one of the embosslits dies.  We used Designer Series Paper and then sanded it to reveal the white core of the paper.  This won’t work with Stampin’ Up! cardstock because it doesn’t have a white core so make sure to use Designer Series paper if you want this look.

Here is the supply list:

Soft Summer stamp set (Occasions Mini)

Kiwi Kiss card stock: 4-1/2″ x 3/4″

Baja Breeze textured card stock: 4″ x 12″

Tangerine Tango Patterns Designer Series paper: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″

Baja Breeze classic ink

Chocolate Chip classic ink

Chocolate Chip Corduroy Button (one 1/2″ brad)

Stampin’ Dimensionals

Sticky Strip

1/16″ circle punch

sanding blocks

Big Shot Die-cut Machine

Simply Flower Embosslits die

Here is the bird update right before we left I checked on all four nests.  The bluebirds still had 5 eggs so she should be done and ready to start incubating – which will be good because tomorrow it is supposed to get cold down to 30 degrees by Tuesday AM.  The chickadee was in her house.  The robin was sitting in her nest and the towhee on hers.  So they are all incubating those eggs and now we will just have to wait until the babies started to hatch.  Which will probably be Easter or later – I’ll have to get out my calendar and mark the dates and see approximately what day it will be.

Have a good week.  I’ll be adding more stamping projects for the next few days so do check back!

Decor Elements Framed Art

The girls at the club meeting last night made some gorgeous framed art.  I took pictures of them so that I could share with everyone.  Some of them used the new Designer Series Paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog – Walk in the Park.  Click on each one to see a larger image.

I think they all turned out great!  The girls had lots of ideas for other frame projects and everyone loved the Decor Elements.  So easy to apply.  If you want to see the full line of Decor Elements click on the link in my side bar to take you to the catalog.

Happy Decorating!monika-signature-2

Stamper’s Club

welcome-frameTonight is Stamper’s Club night.  I always look forward to everyone coming over for a fun girl’s night out.  I love the projects we make and the time we get to visit together.  One of the projects we are making tonight is the frame with the Decor Elements.  I made one in February for my Mom and probably posted it on my blog then.  This is the one I made for me and I changed a couple of things.  First I used a different Decor Elements – mine is the “Welcome” – and this is the small size.  Then on the butterflies I tied Linen Thread around the centers instead of using thin strips of Chocolate Chip card stock.

Tonight the club members will be making theirs and I hope that they’ll let me take pictures and post them on here.  There are a few different Designers Series papers that I used for them and everyone has the Inspiration Decor Elements – which has four word choices so I’m sure everyone will have something different.

The stamps set I used are the Inspired by Nature and Baroque Motifs (on the butterflies).  The Designer Series paper is from Urban Garden.  The colors used are Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip.  Trobinhe Decor Elelments is in Chocolate Chip.  The butterflies are die-cut with the Big Shot and the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies die – one of my favorite.

For an update on the birds today – the blue bird now has four eggs – we’ll see if there is anothe one tomorrow or if they are done with 4.  Normally they have 4-5 eggs.  Mrs. Robin is nicely sitting on her nest – here is a better picture of her.

I checked the Towhee nest – mom was out for a bite to eat – and the strangest thing – now there are 3 eggs – one is missing and it looks like the littest egg is still there – I’ll to see if I can figure out what happen with that.  Very strange… a missing egg.

Have a fun evening – I’m having girls night!

Stamper’s Showcase

I was so excited this morning to see one of my cards on Stamper’s Showcase!

tangerine-hi

Stamper’s Showcase is a great resource for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators on the demonstrator website from Stampin’ Up!  Every day Stampin’ Up! posts ideas from demonstrators like me.  These are contest entries or swaps from Stampin’ Up! events.

I always hope that one day one of my cards will show up on there and finally I made it!

This was one of my swap cards that I made for the Leadership Conference in Orlando.  The colors made me think of Florida.  The idea came from a card I saw in a magazine and I adapted it to use all Stampin’ Up! products.

Here are the details:

Supplies:

  • Petal Pizzazz Stamp Set
  • Jumbo Outline Alphabet Stamp Set
  • Kraft card stock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
  • Tangerine Tango card stock: 5-1/4″ x 4″
  • Kiwi Kiss card stock:  4″ x 1/4″
  • Whisper White card stock: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
  • Tangerine Tango Designer Series paper Patterns: 4″ x 1/2″
  • Versa Marker
  • Tangerine Tango classic ink
  • Kiwi Kiss classic ink
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • 3/16″ corner rounder punch

Instructions:

  1. Fold Kraft card stock in half to form card base.  Corner round all four corners.
  2. Adhere Kiwi Kiss strip to Tangerine Tango card stock.
  3. Adhere Tangerine Tango Designer paper strip to Tangerine Tango card stock.
  4. Corner round all four corners of the Tangerine Tango card stock.
  5. Adhere to the front of the Kraft card.
  6. Stamp flower from Petal Pizzaz stamp set in Tangerine Tango ink on Whisper White card stock.  Stamp four  leaves and stem from Petal Pizzaz stamp set in Kiwi Kiss ink on Whisper White card stock.  Cut out all pieces with Paper snips.  I prefer to leave a little bit of white showing around my image.
  7. Adhere stem to the front of the Tangerine Tango card stock.  Stamp ‘HI’ with the Jumbo Outline Alphabet set.  Color in the letters with a VersaMarker.
  8. Adhere the flower to the end of the stem with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  9. Adhere leaves tucked under the flower.  I put two flat with Snail and two raised on dimensionals.

This is a happy card so have a happy day!

Bird update for today – the bluebird nest – three eggs this morning.  The chickadee nest – I can just barely see one egg tucked down in a corner – there could be more in there.  The robin is spending alot more time sitting on her nest so she may be done laying her eggs.  The Towhee seems to be on her nest most of the day incubating her eggs.  Since I’m not sure how long it had been since she layed the third egg I’ll have to guess at how many days it will be until they hatch.  Incubation is between 12-13 days.  I found the nest on the 30th – so counting days by the end of next week they should start hatching.  I’ll let you know next week when it happens.

UPDATE: I just peeked in on the Towhee and she flew out of the nest so I checked on the eggs – guess what there is a fourth egg in there!  It is smaller than the other 3 – a runt egg – so it may not hatch.  So she wasn’t actually done laying her eggs until later – maybe yesterday because I thought I checked two days in a row and both times there were 3 eggs.  It might be after Easter before they hatch…

Thanks for visiting today!
