I designed this fun project for the UStamp with Dawn & Friends Knock Out Punches 2011 online class.
This is a Holiday Treat Making Kit. I used the Gift Givers stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog for this project. It is one of my favorites! The picture shows the box and then a sample of each of the six Holiday treats that you would make. My idea for this project was to have a ready to go kit full of everything you would need to put together treats for each holiday – except the candy. So once you have your kit created you just sit back and wait for the holidays to arrive – go buy your candy – fill the bag – assemble and give out the treats.
My box is designed to hold enough for 10 of each of the 6 holidays – so there are sections for the large fold over tags, the skinny cello bags, and then the tags, ribbon and brads for each of the holidays. I think it is fun and now I can be ready to mail off treats to my kids, and my nieces and nephews.
There is a complete tutorial for this project in the UStamp with Dawn & Friends Knock Out Punches 2011 class. Click on image below if you would like to join the class. You will go to the main site for the UStamp classes. This one is all about punches and there are over 45 projects with full tutorials – new projects are being posted every day.

I hope to see you there. This is the first of my two projects and let metell you the other one is super duper cute!!!
Have a great day!

Nov 6, 2011 | family, My Digital Studio, Scrapbook Pages, Stampin' Up! Convention |
Since we are celebrating Digital Scrapbooking day I decided to create a couple of quick digital scrapbook pages this morning. The best way to make quick pages is to use one of the Designer Templates. So that was what I did and they were both done in just a few minutes – it took longer to find the photos than anything else.
This template came with the Sun Garden Designer Paper Digital Download. It is a 12×12 scrapbook page. I added photos that we took this summer at the Stampin’ Up! Convention. Michele, Dawn, Cindy and I were roommates and on the last night we had some fun with our camera – using the auto shoot function. We all piled into one bed and found different places to set the camera trying to get pictures of the four of us. We had fun making silly faces and laughing. I can’t wait for the next Stampin’ Up! event which is the Leadership Conference in January. Michele will be my room mate again and this time Becky and Diane will be with us.
I made very few changes to the template – I added my pictures, and the text at the bottom. I moved a few of the elements just to get them off the pictures a little bit more but that was pretty much it.
And this other page is also a template – it is the Sunset Serenade Digital Kit – another 12×12 scrapbook page. I added the stamp “So Grateful” which is from the So Typefelt stamp brush set that you can get free this weekend at the Mydigitalstudio.net site. I also moved the text box that was in that spot up on top of my large photo and added the word Family. A few of the elements were moved to get them off the pictures and that was pretty much it. I left the rest of the template alone. I think the pictures work well with the colors in this template page.
These pictures are from this summer when we went to the beach with Greg’s family. That’s Greg’s mom in the white dress. And then the photo with Greg, his mom, sister and brother. Then the large family photo includes the spouses and kids. All of us dressed to match on the beach. And we are all grateful to have some time together. We will all be together again at Thanksgiving. We have plans to be with my family during Christmas – I can’t wait to get pictures of all of us too.
A few minutes, no mess to clean up and my two scrapbook pages are done. And now I can do some cleaning up , laundry and get dinner ready. Both Kyle and Tyler are home this weekend and I’ve got BBQ chicken in the crock pot. I plan to try a new recipe for some garlic cheese biscuits and later tonight we’ll have a fire outside before the boys go back to college. Have a nice rest of your weekend. I keep thinking it is only Saturday but I guess it really is Sunday.

Here is a project I made using the Home for the Holidays Ensemble –
It is a Holiday Planner. I used My Digital Studio to create the cover, I printed it on Whisper White card stock on my home printer and then trimmed it to fit inside one of the Clear Mount Stamp cases. I decorated it with a piece of Baja Breeze Seam Binding and a die cut snowflake.
On the inside I created some helpful inserts weekly planners, to do lists, gift lists and card lists.
This useful fun project is one of the choices at my Gift Making Class next weekend. If you want to come be sure to email me. So spend some time this weekend visiting MyDigitalStudio.net. Stampin’ Up! will be posting projects all weekend – so far there is a Christmas Card idea with the Home for the Holiday ensemble and a scrapbook layout using the Delight in the Day template. And demonstrators and My Digital Studio customers will be posting their ideas in the Showcase too. Come see what we are all up to.
Have a fun weekend!

I have one more scrapbook layout for you today. This was one that we made in my September Scrapbook class. Because September was the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy I wanted to make a scrapbook layout for memories of that day. While we didn’t know anyone in the towers it was still an event that impacted us that day and after that day. For my generation I think this is the day that we all remember where we were. My kids were young and all at the elementary school, Greg was out of town in Florida, my brother-in-law in Washington D.C., my sister-in-law was traveling on business – I was home, but the kids on the school bus, walked around the neighborhood, came home and turned on the TV. Stood in front of the TV for hours, got on the phone to call Greg, the school, the rest of our family. I have memories from that day and from the anniversaries going forward. The year we had every child in the elementary school (1200+ students) make post card size drawings/notes to remember 9-11 and we glued them all to huge banners that we hung from the roof of the school at the entrance. The red, white and blue shirts we made. And more. So while most people don’t necessarily have personal photos I do think everyone has a story/memory of that day. So this layout was for that purpose.

The layout is very neutral – Basic Grey and Very Vanilla, and Basic Black. With one small Cherry Cobbler punched heart.
The left page has mats for a few photos. It also has the “two towers”. I used strips of the Basic Grey Patterns DSP in the stripe. And then stamped with the image from Extreme Elements so it looks like windows. The strips are raised off the page with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The title “remember” is cut with the Big Shot and the Simple Letters Alphabet die from the First Edition DSP – it looks like newsprint and paper which were everywhere that day. The ‘b’ has the red heart and then a tiny bow of linen thread. This idea was from when you tie a ribbon around your finger to help you remember something.
The stamping on the Very Vanilla uses the Best Friends Forever stamp set and the Extreme Elements stamp set – in Crumb Cake and some in Basic Grey.
The large sheet on the right page is a full 8-1/2 x 11″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock – I wanted to keep it this size because I want to do my journaling on the computer and print it on this piece. It is tucked under the piece of ribbon. For me this whole page will just be journaling.
This is a closeup photo so you can see the towers and letters are up off the page. Like they are in the air.
Take care everyone and hug the ones you love.

Nov 2, 2011 | Big Shot, Medallion, Scrapbook Pages |
I have another scrapbook layout for you today. This was the second layout that we made at my October Scrapbook class.
I used the title Family Celebration but this could really be used for anything even a wedding or baby layout. This layout idea came from one that I saw in a magazine. I used all Stampin’ Up! products for mine, different colors and elements but the sketch is almost the same.
The background is Crumb Cake – along the top of the layout is a strip of the First Edition Designer Series paper. The large scallops are just hand cut and meant to be uneven. The edges are sponged with Crumb Cake ink. I also stamped on them with an image from the Creative Elements stamp set – it was stamped in black and then the open petals/leaves are colored in with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker.
Along the bottom is a strip of Marina Mist card stock that was stamped with the leaves image from the Borderlines stamp set. And above that is a piece of Crumb Cake Patterns Designer Series paper from the Neutrals stack – the top edge is torn. Very Vanilla photo mats are tucked in and out of the torn strip.
On the left page are some journaling lines and I stamped the large Medallion stamp in Basic Black Craft ink. On top of that is the Scalloped Heart Embosslit and a bitty button with some black thread.
Tucked in on both pages are the scalloped circles from the Perfect Pennants Die – cut out in Basic Black and the layered with a Marina Mist flower punched with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. There is another bitty button on the right page.
The pieces that overlap the photo mats are on Stampin’ Dimensionals so that the photos will tuck underneath them. The title is cut with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Die Set.
What took the longest on this page was all the sponging – all the photo mats and the cut and torn strips on the top and bottom.
Thanks for checking in today!
