I created this page using My Digital Studio2 for our beloved Uncle Lamar – Greg’s uncle. Just a quick post today.
Supply list (a new option in MDS2) – I started with a template Thoughtful Overlays 11×8-1/2. And then changed it. I used the color match feature to match the blue in his shirt. This picture of Uncle Lamar is from 2010 at the family reunion at his farm.

Ok – It’s here. I made a video. My first one. So let me know what you think and leave me a comment. I’m still learning how to do all this. Ryan helped me with some of the editing. I’m sure I’ll get better. Any way this was a neat technique that we learned at convention in the I am Creative class. It was one of the bonus classes. We had the pleasure of spending the evening with Shannon West and 5 of the Stampin’ Up! Concept Artists. Each shared different techniques, tips and tricks that they use. Here is my completed card.
In the video I’m going to show you how to create the chevron background. It’s super easy and a new way to use your embossing folders. Let’s see if I can attach this video now.
So what do you think? If you get my blog updates in an email you may need to actually go to my blog to see the video.
To finish the card I used the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die to cut the two butterflies – Summer Starfruit and Basic Gray. The larger butterfly is stamped with the large image from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set. The Gray one is plain but you could add the chevrons to it too – I thought about that after I was done and didn’t go back to change it. Then stamped the image on Very Vanilla and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly punch. Layer the three butterflies together and staple in the center. Attach to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the designer paper strip.

Here is a sparkling project for you to create for your next party celebration. A birthday, wedding, patriotic holidays, any number of things that include sparkle and fun!
This was a project that we made at my last demonstrator meeting. Leishman designed it and brought enough for everyone to make their own. It uses the Petite Pocket Pouch (remember I said I had another project using that die – here it is) die-cut with the Big Shot and then embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. This is a modified idea from one in the main Stampin’ Up! catalog. the card that is tucked inside holds the sparklers and a match is tied on with the ribbon.
I’m sharing a sneak at one of the cards we will be making for my Baker’s Twine class on Friday. I will be teaching some fun ways to use baker’s twine and this is just one. I used the Color Challenge for this weeks Create with Connie & Mary Thursday challenge to give me my colors. I used the Baker’s Twine two different ways on this card – can you see them both? I’m going to try to shoot a video to show how I made the strip and hope to post it later next week.
All the supplies are listed below – come play along with us this week and lets see what you can do with these colors. I can’t wait to see what you create. Visit Create with Connie & Mary and submit your creation for this weeks challenge – each week 3 top creations are selected. Each challenge is open for a week. And then a new challenge will be issued.
Accessories: Whisper White Baker’s Twine, clear block, 2-1/2” Circle punch, 1-3/4” Circle punch, 1-1/4” Circle punch, 1” Circle punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Piercing Mat, Paper Piercer, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hey! My internet is back. Sorry I missed posting for the past few days. I felt so disconnected from everything. But thank goodness I had an iphone – I was able to get on and check email and Facebook from there – but trying to work on that little bitty screen was not really working for me.
I made this card a while back and it was an idea from another demonstrator – I have it pinned on Pinterest. This uses the Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper.
I love the natural look and feel and my favorite Linen Thread is on here with one of the new wood style buttons. I think I stuck pretty close to the original card that I saw.
Yesterday was Tuesday with some new My Digital Studio downloads – you can check those out on my website. And we are half way through August so only 2 more weeks to take advantage of the 31% sale on some of the downloads and print products. I need to finish up a couple of books so I can get them printed before the sale ends.
And don’t forget about the Halloween Printer’s Tray Kit – if you join my Stampin’ Up! team you will get it free.
I’ll be back tomorrow for the Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge.
