Last weekend was the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat and it was so much fun! The theme was birthday and on Friday night all the girls received a little birthday themed treat. The idea came from a swap that I received from my friend Linda at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference back in January. I loved the idea so much I wanted to use it for the retreat. And then Cindy and I decided to go a bit further and use the idea for our Make&Take project on Friday night so we got creative and made three more designs – a graduation, wedding and baby themed bag. All the bags were made using the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper, the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies and the Celebrate Today stamp set.
As part of their goody bag of supplies everyone received part of a pack of the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series paper, pieces of all the coordinating card stock and pieces from the Basics Hodgepodge clips. Here is a closer look at each treat bag.
The Birthday Bag was the one that Cindy and I made ahead of time and left as a surprise on everyone’s work table. Inside I added party supplies – a whistle, buzzer, candy stick, blow pop, and a lottery ticket.
The end of the school year is here or almost here for everyone so many are in need of graduation ideas so we wanted to create a graduation bag – fill it with some cash or a gift card and the new graduate will be thrilled.
And it’s wedding season too – we focused on hearts – the heart clip and a glittery heart die cut. Are you headed to any weddings this June? We had one last year in June but I don’t think I have one to attend this year.
The colors in this paper even made a fun baby version – the Bermuda Bay has the blue for a boy and the Calypso Coral has the pink for a girl and the Crushed Curry can go either way. Fill it with something for the new little one – socks or a onesie would fit inside or something for the new mom (and dad too).
A fun collection of little bags for all occasions and the Celebrate Today stamp set works for all of them – perfect for birthdays, graduation, wedding and baby! Everyone at the retreat seemed to love making these bags.
Thanks for stopping by today. I’m trying to get myself back to a regular posting schedule and will try to have some regular features on certain days of the week. I’m working on my plan and now to see if I can implement it and then keep it going!
Have a great day!

Yes I have another rainbow card today. The idea for the rainbow came to me in a dream one night – I wanted to come up with some other ways to use the masks that came in the Hooray It’s Your Day Project Kit. I thought I could make a rainbow out of the one that looks like rays from the sun. The perfect color family for a rainbow of course is the Stampin’ Up! Brights collection – remember the Roy G Biv you learned in school – here it is in Stampin’ Up! colors – Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo.

I placed my mask over a piece of Whisper White card stock and then used a sponge dauber in each color to fill in one of the sections. Before lifting my mask I used my Project Life Journaling pen to trace the edge of each section. I layered my rainbow on Basic Black card stock and then on a Whisper White card front. I used Basic Black Baker’s Twine to go around the card a couple of times and tied a bow.
The greeting is from And Many More stamp set. To finish I used some of my punches – a Daffodil Delight “sun” from the 2″ Circle punch and then some Whisper White clouds from the Cupcake Builder Punch and a little Tangerine Tango heart is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Die because I had it lying on my table from a different project – but we have several little heart punches that you could choose from.
Even my husband thought this was a cool card. He doesn’t often come in and comment on my cards but he picked this one up to take a closer look.
Be sure you get the Hooray It’s Your Day Project Kit before it is gone! It’s in the Occasions Catalog which ends on June 2nd. You get the mask that I used in this card, a second mask, spritzer bottles, and supplies to make 20 fun cards!
Here is a full list of supplies that I used – just click on any item to go to my online store.

Do you need the perfect card for Father’s Day? Did you see these “parts” that I shared on my Instagram account?
Everyone loved the colors – Soft Sky, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla – together they made a perfect father’s day card.
I used the Open Sea stamp set along with Gorgeous Grunge (it makes everything better) and the And Many More stamp set for the greeting. You can easily switch out the “BEST DAD EVER” for something else. I used two retiring items on this card the Distressing tool to distress the Soft Suede layer under the sailboat and then the Baked Brown Sugar Thick Baker’s Twine. All the rest is carrying over to the new catalog including all the stamp sets I used – yeah!
This card will be one of the choices in my Card Maker’s Class this week – Friday May 22nd. Join me for a morning or evening class – RSVP here.

It’s true right – you can never have too much happy!

I’d love to be able to make everyone happy all the time. This past weekend was my Stamp, Scrap & Create retreat at my house and it seemed to me everyone was very happy for the whole weekend. We had so much fun creating and getting to know each other better. I loved having everyone here. There were 13 of us this time – a full house! We had a birthday theme for the retreat and everything was bright and colorful – a rainbow of goodie bags and balloons, bright Make&Take projects, good food, and birthday presents for everyone. I can’t wait to do it again.
With happy and rainbow and bright colors on my mind I thought I would share this fun happy card that my stamper’s club made earlier this month. It’s not as hard as it looks and I even wrote a step-by-step tutorial for how I made it. Look for it at the end of my post.

(I actually wrote a post for this card over the weekend but couldn’t find it in my drafts folder in order to finish and post it so I had to start over.)
To make this card you need the Bright Collection of ink pads and a bunch of the sponge daubers to make the rainbow – Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo. The scallops are from the Striped Scallops Thinlits die – I cut it out in black. I did use the Transfer Adhesive Sheets – they are on the retired list! So get them now they make this project so quick and easy and my tutorial shows you how I used them.
Other retiring products on this card are the Label Collection Framelits, the Festive Paper piercing pack, the Yippee Skippy stamp set and the Painted Petals cotton twine is in the Occasions catalog which is ending June 2nd also.

May 14, 2015 | Boxes, Retired List, Stamper's Club |
My Stamper’s Club met at the beginning of the month before Mother’s Day and I wanted to have them make a project that could be used for Mother’s day if they wanted but didn’t have to be. This is what I ended up with.
I used three of the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes – assemble the boxes and then use Sticky Strip (on the retired list and on the weekly deals this week) to attach the plastic sleeves together. Then you have a stack of three. You can still slide the boxes out of the plastic sleeves. The boxes in this photo are empty except I laid a doily inside a couple of them. There are all kinds of things that fit in these and they are food safe so bake cookies, muffins, make candies, any number of yummy things. Or fill with pretty things – lotions and bath salts, and stuff like that. Or maybe gardening supplies – little seed pods or seed packets, garden gloves – hmm I like that idea the best.
The colors I used are Tempting Turquoise and Hello Honey and a peek of Old Olive. The belly band is made from a strip of Hello Honey from the In-color Designer Series Paper Stack. Now this color isn’t retiring but the paper stack is – so get it now. I used 3″ strips and you need two 12″ long strips (well really 11″ long) to go around the box and wrap nicely. I glue the overlapping ends together but didn’t actually glue it to the boxes – that way if you needed too you could slide it off.
I tied a piece of the 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon around and tied in a bow. So sad that this is retiring I love using this ribbon. I cut one of the doilies in half and tucked one half under each side of the belly band – use a little adhesive to hold then to the back of the belly band.
For the flowers I used Bloom For You stamp – this one is a single stamp. And it coordinates with the Fun Flower punch and the 7/8″ Scallop Circle punch. I stamped 4 Tempting Turquoise flowers and punched those out and then 2 Hello Honey and punched out the centers. Use a bone folder to gently curl the petals. I pierced a hole through the centers of all and then put them on silver mini brads – a Hello Honey center and 2 Turquoise flowers. Add those to the front of the box.
I punched some leaves using the two-step bird punch and Old Olive card stock – tuck those in under the flowers. And the final little touch is just a smattering of pearls around the flowers.
I hope you like this project. Thanks for visiting today.
