Did you see that Stampin’ Up! has a new cat punch? It coordinates with the stamp set called Spooky Cat and the Spooky Night Designer Series paper. We all love the coordination between products that Stampin’ Up! gives us. And let me tell you there are quite a few things about these products that you might not realize so let me point out a few things for you. Oh – but first here is my card.
For this card I just punched Cajun Craze card stock with the Cat punch and then used the stamp set to stamp the face on the cat. The punch also coordinates with one of the images in the stamp set – it’s a cat shape filled with Halloween words.
Here is a look at the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.
Now here are some things that you may not notice:
Can you see the print with the cats? It fits perfectly in the punch – so you can punch out the whole sheet of cats. And with the cat stamp if you want to stamp the words on the orange cat.
Now see the print with the tree/moon. Those sheets are perfect 3×3 squares for that image – so 16 of them on one sheet. And they are sized so that you can stamp the owl so he is sitting right on the branch.
See the pumpkin sheet. Those pumpkins actually coordinate with the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits dies – you can cut them all but the tiniest one out with those dies!
I have cards coming showing all three of these. So be sure to keep coming back. The stamp set itself is really fun too. Here is a bit more inspiration straight out of the pages of the catalog.
Have you had this problem – you are creating with your Big Shot, pulling out various dies as you work on your project, you set one down on the table and keep working, then you need it again and it has disappeared? Oh no! It was just there. Now its hiding under a little pile of paper scraps and hopefully you didn’t just put it in the trash! Tragically I have lost a die like this and have been trying really hard not to let it happen again. So I found a solution! Magnet sheets! Framed to set right by your Big shot! Or perhaps you hang it on the wall by your Big Shot station.
For my frame I found 5×7″ white frames at Ikea – these had a flat front edge so I was able to use Washi Tape to decorate – it’s the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape. I bought 5×7 magnet sheets which turned out to not actually be 5×7 but just a little bit smaller than that. So they didn’t stay in the frame on their own – because they would slip through the opening. So I used Tear & Tape and adhered the magnet sheet directly to the glass piece of the frame.
To decorate the corner of the frame I used the new Daisy punch and Daisy Delight stamp set. Mine is Crushed Curry flower so it would match my classroom. My Stamp Club made this project they each chose the color that they wanted for their flowers – so we had all different colors. For the leaves underneath punch a daisy in Old Olive and the fold it in half so the petals off set with each other. I finished the center of the flower with a Clear Faceted Gem.
It’s really a quick and easy project once you have the frame and magnet sheet – you could decorate with any flower punch that you have on hand or a die!

This month – August 2017 – we are sharing alternate ideas using the Giftable Greetings Paper Pumpkin Kit. The kit came with supplies to make 8 cards, a gift box and tags. Lately I’ve been pretty happy with the project just as they are. And this month was no different but for some reason I had another idea for the little gift box. It is really a pretty little box and while it is perfect to fit the cards and envelopes inside that’s not what I did with it. I turned it into a bank for saving money toward something fun – like a new stamp set or bundle or if you are a demo you could save money to pay for the next OnStage event! And then I designed a card that would go along with the box to say Congrats You Did It!
Here is a little more info on the box. I used the Classic Label punch to make a guide for my hole in the plastic cover. Punch out card stock and then use snail or a glue dot to place it where you want the hole. I used a self healing mat and a craft knife to cut the hole out (it’s an old Stampin’ Up! craft knife).
To make the hole prettier from the front I used a scrap of Night of Navy card stock and first punched the Classic Label punch and then went around the opening with the new Everyday Label punch (coming out on Sept. 1 in the Holiday Catalog). I then trimmed down each side with my cutter so I had a nice frame to go around the cut hole.
Inside the box I added a piece of Calypso Coral card stock. I stamped a few flowers on it and glued down a couple of the little flowers from the kit. I finished with the ribbon, tag and pieces from the kit. Now each week save some money inside your box and work you way to something fun. Or gift it to someone that needs to save for something special and then give them this card once they achieve their goal.
For this card I used a piece of Night of Navy card stock for the base and then took one of the cards from the kit and cut it up – the front piece was cut to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and used on the front of my card. The back piece was trimmed to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and used on the inside of my card. I stamped You Did It on a strip of Pool Party to add to the Congrats oval. The rest of the elements are left over pieces from the kit including the Navy Baker’s Twine.

Every month I make a stack of tags that I use for customer orders that are delivered to my house. I enjoy adding a little bit of joy to each bag! This month I used the Label Me Pretty stamp set and Pretty Label punch. The same bundle from yesterday’s card. And I also used the Fresh Florals Designer Paper Stack.
I normally create my tags using something that is already out on my table. In this case I had some pieces of the In-Color card stock on the table and decided if I cut each one in half it would make a nice size for a tag. But then they were a little wider than 2″ so they didn’t work in the Scalloped Tag topper punch – which I use a lot for my tags. I decided to cut some 2″ wide strips of matching designer paper and punch the tops of those and glue them to the front of the card stock. Then I added my labels that I stamped and punched with the Pretty Little Label bundle. I also used the Layering Circle framelits.
My customers are the best – I hope they love these little tags on their orders!
