Feb 28, 2019 | Cards, Paper Pumpkin, Stampin' Blends |
Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Grown with Kindness. Some fun photographic cards featuring succulents and earthy tones.

This months kit was a little different from our others with the fun photographic prints included. For the most part I like this one just the way it is. I do plan on using the cards for a class so I’ve ordered refills which became available this week. If you are a current Paper Pumpkin Subscriber you can order the past refill kits in the online store.

I created one alternate idea using the stamp set and ink along with a few added supplies. And then the other day I actually put together one of each card as intended – well almost. More on that in a minute. I ended up with two alternate ideas and then I made a fun little 3D project. That means I have 3 ideas to show you today!
Succulent Cup Card
This first card is the one I created using the stamp set and the ink. It was an alternate idea that my Paper Pumpkin subscribers were able to make as a bonus card when they attended my Quick & Cute monthly card class. I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends to color the little succulent cup. Did you know you can use the Stampin’ Blends with our Classic Ink pads – that’s what I did here – I used the Fresh Fig ink from the kit and then colored with the Blends.

Supply List
The additional supplies not in the Paper Pumpkin kit that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Vellum
- Stampin’ Blends – Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate
- Classic Ink – Mint Macaron
Thank You Note card
For my second alternate card idea I have another Note card – you know those are my favorite! The Black & White card was the one I didn’t make exactly like the kit. I didn’t want to cover up all the stripes with the printed panel so I cut the panel in half and only used half on my kit card. So the other half I used on this note card – I love it!

Supply List
The additional supplies not in the Paper Pumpkin kit that I added to complete this project were:
- Whisper White Note cards & Envelopes
- Card stock – Basic Black
Little Thank You Box
And here is a third idea. I turned the Black & White striped card base into a little box. Did you know you can turn a card into a box? Cut the card in half at the score line. The front becomes the top of the box. I scored all four sides at 1″ and then snipped each end up to the score line. Look at my photo to see what I mean. The bottom of the box is the back piece of the card – trim it down just a little – you want it to be slightly smaller than the lid – about 1/8 of an inch. Then score all four sides at 1″ and snip the ends.

Next use the glue dots from the kit or a strong adhesive like tear & tape or multipurpose liquid glue to glue the ends to form the box. Your lid should slide right over the bottom. I put a little mint tea bag inside the box. Tied it shut with Fresh Fig Ribbon and added the little cup of succulents – again colored with the Stampin’ Blends as a tag. A perfect little gift to thank someone for helping you.

Supply List
The additional supplies not in the Paper Pumpkin kit that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Whisper White
- Stampin’ Blends – Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate
- Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon
- Multipurpose Liquid glue
I hope you liked these alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Feb 27, 2019 | 2019 Occasions Catalog, 2019 Sale-a-Bration, Birthday, Cards, Embellishments, Stamparatus |
Did you hear the news? The party just heated up with new, limited-time products that coordinate perfectly with select Sale-A-Bration products. What does that mean you might ask. Well for the first time Stampin’ Up! is releasing 4 sets of dies, a punch and a new stamp set all designed to coordinate with products from Sale-A-Bration that you can earn for free. These new products will only be available during the month of March while supplies last. Don’t wait – there won’t be more of them ordered so once they are gone they are gone. I’ll be sharing more in the coming days. Today I’m going to show you the new stamp set . But here is a full list of products that are coming.

- More Than Words stamp set
- Hop Around Framelits Dies
- Lily Framelits Dies
- Call Me Cupcake Thinlits Dies
- Four Seasons Framelits Dies
- Story Label Punch

Now that you had a look at the products that are coming March 1st. Let’s take a look at a project I made with the More Than Words stamp set. You can use this set by itself or pair it up with the other Sale-a-Bration sets to give you more options for them.

When you look at the stamp set it might be confusing to see the Wishes stamp and then see half of the word in another stamp. They are designed to layer together. I used my Stamparatus to line mine up perfectly and then I was able to stamp a whole stack of these cards. My base Wishes is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink and then the bottom layer is stamped in Bermuda Bay. It gives an ombre effect to the word Wishes.
Supply List
- #150069 More Than Words stamp set (available March 1 – 31, 2019)
- #48569 How Sweet It Is Cardstock pack
- #100730 Whisper White Cardstock
- #148568 How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper
- #147097 Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad
- #147096 Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin’ Pad
- #147051 Melon Mambo Classic Stampin’ Pad
- #146276 Stamparatus
- #146281 Candle Embellishments

The little silver candle embellishments finish it off. They are self-adhesive so super easy to add to this card. I’d consider this a #simplestamping card – stamps, ink and paper. Peel and stick embellishments don’t change how simple it is.
Gather your wish list and get ready to order on March 1st. I’ll be leaving the February Host code open for the first few days in March so you can continue to use that code. I send a little surprise in your thank you card when you do.

Feb 20, 2019 | Baby, Big Shot, Cards, class |
In my monthly card class – Quick & Cute Cards – I try to always have an option for a baby card – with both a blue and a pink option. I guess maybe I need a neutral option too. Do people still wait for the surprise to find out at the birth if it is a boy or a girl? My oldest is 27 years old and we waited until he was born so it was a surprise. But my two younger ones we knew before they were born that they would be boys. I wonder what young parents are doing these days. Anyway I thought I’d share with you the card that I currently have in my card class.

I love the Little Elephant stamp set in the Annual Catalog. It comes as a bundle with the Elephant Builder punch – that’s a 10% savings! For these baby cards I paired the bundle with the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Baker’s Twine. You could easily switch the Pool Party and the Petal Pink and use the Soft Sea Foam print that comes in the paper pack for a neutral gender card. Pair that one with the silver and white Baker’s Twine instead of the colored ones that I used on these cards.

- #146284 Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper
