Hello my friends.  It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Grown with Kindness.  Some fun photographic cards featuring succulents and earthy tones.

This months kit was a little different from our others with the fun photographic prints included.  For the most part I like this one just the way it is.  I do plan on using the cards for a class so I’ve ordered refills which became available this week.  If you are a current Paper Pumpkin Subscriber you can order the past refill kits in the online store.

I created one alternate idea using the stamp set and ink along with a few added supplies.  And then the other day I actually put together one of each card as intended – well almost.  More on that in a minute.  I ended up with two alternate ideas and then I made a fun little 3D project.  That means I have 3 ideas to show you today!

Succulent Cup Card

This first card is the one I created using the stamp set and the ink.  It was an alternate idea that my Paper Pumpkin subscribers were able to make as a bonus card when they attended my Quick & Cute monthly card class. I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends to color the little succulent cup. Did you know you can use the Stampin’ Blends with our Classic Ink pads – that’s what I did here – I used the Fresh Fig ink from the kit and then colored with the Blends.

Supply List

The additional supplies not in the Paper Pumpkin kit that I added to complete this project were:

  • Card stock – Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Vellum
  • Stampin’ Blends – Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate
  • Classic Ink – Mint Macaron

Thank You Note card

For my second alternate card idea I have another Note card – you know those are my favorite!  The Black & White card was the one I didn’t make exactly like the kit.  I didn’t want to cover up all the stripes with the printed panel so I cut the panel in half and only used half on my kit card.  So the other half I used on this note card – I love it!

Supply List

The additional supplies not in the Paper Pumpkin kit that I added to complete this project were:

  • Whisper White Note cards & Envelopes
  • Card stock – Basic Black

Little Thank You Box

And here is a third idea.  I turned the Black & White striped card base into a little box.  Did you know you can turn a card into a box?  Cut the card in half at the score line.  The front becomes the top of the box.  I scored all four sides at 1″ and then snipped each end up to the score line.  Look at my photo to see what I mean.  The bottom of the box is the back piece of the card – trim it down just a little – you want it to be slightly smaller than the lid – about 1/8 of an inch.  Then score all four sides at 1″ and snip the ends.

Next use the glue dots from the kit or a strong adhesive like tear & tape or multipurpose liquid glue to glue the ends to form the box.  Your lid should slide right over the bottom.  I put a little mint tea bag inside the box.  Tied it shut with Fresh Fig Ribbon and added the little cup of succulents – again colored with the Stampin’ Blends as a tag.  A perfect little gift to thank someone for helping you.

  • Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon
  • Multipurpose Liquid glue

I hope you liked these alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
