In my monthly card class – Quick & Cute Cards – I try to always have an option for a baby card – with both a blue and a pink option. I guess maybe I need a neutral option too. Do people still wait for the surprise to find out at the birth if it is a boy or a girl? My oldest is 27 years old and we waited until he was born so it was a surprise. But my two younger ones we knew before they were born that they would be boys. I wonder what young parents are doing these days. Anyway I thought I’d share with you the card that I currently have in my card class.
I love the Little Elephant stamp set in the Annual Catalog. It comes as a bundle with the Elephant Builder punch – that’s a 10% savings! For these baby cards I paired the bundle with the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Baker’s Twine. You could easily switch the Pool Party and the Petal Pink and use the Soft Sea Foam print that comes in the paper pack for a neutral gender card. Pair that one with the silver and white Baker’s Twine instead of the colored ones that I used on these cards.

I was so excited to see the Little Elephant stamp set and punch in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. I’ve been collecting elephants since I was a little girl and always get the sets that have an elephant. When I was in school I hand carved an elephant stamp – I guess that was probably my first stamping experience! I didn’t know then that I would be doing this all the time now. Here is the first thing I made with the I created with the Little Elephant stamp set and punch.
It was one of my August Stamp Club projects. We are having a lot of fun in stamp club each month. All members get to make a 3D project, a card that usually features a technique and a scrapbook page. I’ve really enjoyed getting back to making scrapbook pages.
Here is a closer look at this month’s Little Elephant box.
Supply List
Little Elephant stamp set
Elephant Builder punch
Lustrous White Mini Gable Boxes
Silver & Pool Party Baker’s Twine
Twinkle Twinkle Designer series paper
Soft Sea Foam ink
Gray Granite ink
Whisper White card stock
The little flowers are stamped around the base of the box in the Soft Sea Foam ink. Use the Elephant Builder punch to punch strips of the Twinkle Twinkle Designer paper – the big and little ears are what I used for the flowers. Glue them to the box on top of the stamped flowers. Use a piece of the Designer Series Paper and wrap it around the box – but don’t glue it – just tie the twine around it – that way you can untie the twine and remove the wrap to open the box.
It’s perfect little gift for a new baby – you could roll up a little onsies or some socks to stick inside!
Remember it’s Bonus Days for the month of August – every $50 order will earn a Bonus Coupon that you can use on an order in September!
It’s the month of July and it’s time for the much loved Designer Series Paper Sale from Stampin’ Up! Don’t feel sad about using your pretty paper stock up now with this offer to buy 3, get 1 free on a selection of papers in the brand new catalog. This week I’ll be showing ideas that feature our beautiful Designer Series paper. Just pair the paper with an all occasion greeting stamp set and you can hit all the different events, occasions and holiday’s throughout the year. I’m using the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set with most of my samples this week.
The Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper is so cute with all the different animals and prints. I wanted to use it to make a quick baby card. I used a 4×4″ square of the paper layered on a piece of Whisper White card stock. Choose a matching ribbon to tie around – I used the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon. For the tag I used two greetings from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and cut the words that I wanted to add to a little tag. It’s a super sweet and simple idea.

One of my favorite items in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog is the A Little Wild stamp set. I just love the little elephant and I love that the animals have fronts and backs and the dies cut out both into a little tag. You can use them like that or cut them apart.
And another one of my favorites is the new Embossing Paste. That along with the dies and palette knives make it easy and fun to create interesting textured backgrounds.
For my card I paired them together – I created this for a swap card – so I’ve already made a whole stack of these.
I used the brick mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and a small amount of the Embossing Paste. I didn’t want full coverage on my card stock so I just smeared it through the mask where I wanted it. Every card turns out just a little different. The paste dries quickly if you are using a thin layer. I wish you could feel the texture!
The little elephant was stamped on Shimmery White card stock and then I watercolored with Soft Sky ink using my Aquapainter. I also lightly watercolored on the cloud – which is really the Pretty Label punch. I finished the card with some Pool Party Baker’s Twine around the Crumb Cake Layer.
You can get the A Little Wild stamp set as part of a bundle with the Little Loves Framelit Dies. Be sure to look for bundles throughout the catalog – they save you 10%.
It’s a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. This weeks challenge CCMC210 is going to last for two weeks. Some of the design team will be at the Stampin’ Up! Convention next week – so you have two weeks to play along. And this week is a color challenge. I came up with this fun card with a brand new stamp set – the set is called Moving Forward – and it is the cute new Ronald McDonald House stamp set. You can find it in the very back of the catalog.
I decided that I wanted to separate the images and the words so I could use them by themselves. But since I got this set as a clear mount I figured out it was super easy to keep them separated and use them together – I just cut between the image and the words and when I want to use them together I can just mount them on the clear block together – because I cut them apart – they will fit perfectly back together when I put them on the block to stamp.
Oh before I forget here are the colors we are using – in case you didn’t already figure it out –
This card is a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ So Saffron card base. Then I added a Pool Party panel on the front that was punched with the scallop border punch and then I pierced it. The front is Old Olive with the Whisper White and the stamped image – stamp in Old Olive, add Cherry Cobbler accents and color the sail So Saffron. I used the little swirly image in Pool Party to randomly stamp around the bottom of the boat for waves. And I sponged all the way around the white square.
Here is a close up of the Baker’s Twine – that has a tag and a heart button tied to the card front.
And the inside –
I’d love to see what you create with these colors. Make something and then visit Create with Connie & Mary and submit your entry. Each challenge is open for a week. And then a new challenge will be issued. Except this one will be TWO WEEKS long.
Here are a few more details about my card.

You might wonder what Flower Garden Decor Elements have to do with a Diaper Genie. And no – I don’t have a diaper genie, and if you saw one at my house it wasn’t mine. Jamie brought me her diaper genie and I decorated it for her with the Flower Garden Decor Elements. And look at how cute it turned out.
I purchased two sets of the flowers and put them on all the way around.
And to finish it I added a piece of Pretty in Pink wide ribbon at the top and attached it with mini glue dots. Now it sits in the baby room at Jamie’s house and it fit in so perfectly. Here is a picture from Jamie –
See the diaper genie on the left side – it matched all her decor just perfectly. And who is the room for – well for Baby Chloe –
born on Dec. 15th! Congratulations to Jamie and her husband on welcoming their new little one into the world!
Hopefully Jamie will be back for stamp club in January.
