Earlier this month we had a STARZ group meeting that was a lot of fun. Wendy had some great projects for us and the one I’m going to share today is very similar to a framed art project I did awhile back with my Stamper’s Club. I got the idea from a project that they showed us at the Regional Conference in Orlando. My original frame project was this one with the “Welcome” Decor Elements – my club member also used the Inspiration Decor Elements pieces for theirs. We used the Urban Garden Designer Series paper and the main colors were Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. The stamp set is Inspired by Nature. The Decor Elements is on the glass. The ribbon is tied around the outside of the glass. On my frame the butterflies are inside the glass.
I shared the idea at a STARZ meeting and Wendy created her own frame project and another friend, Michelle, also made her own versions. Wendy had her version as one of our projects at our last STARZ meeting using a smaller frame. For this one we used the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper and stamped with the Upsy Daisy stamp set using the baby-wipe technique. The main colors are Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. The butterflies are the Beautiful Butterflies die for the Big Shot and on Wendy’s version we used the Inspiration Decor Elements pieces – mine says “love”. The other words in the set are “life”, “hope”, and “faith”. On Wendy’s version the butterfly is attached outside the glass so it looks more 3 dimensional.
I plan to make some more frames in various colors to sell at the Holiday Bazaar in my neighborhood.
If you live near me please plan to come out to this event – everyone is invited. I will have a table of completed handcrafted items for sale, samples of other Decor Elements projects, a make-n-take project, sign ups for classes and catalogs for ordering. There will be a variety of other people there to help you get ready for the holidays. Here are the details:

I made the cutest little desk frame out of two 4×4 coasters the other day. This is one of the projects we made/are making in my class this month.
The paper is from the Pink Flamingo paper and I used the Summer Sun print with the flowers. Each piece is cut to 4×4 and I used an Anywhere Glue stick to adhere the paper to the coasters. I trimmed the edges with my paper snips. The reason I don’t use my corner rounder punch is because it is not the same corner as the coasters so it is easier to just use paper snips. Then I like to sand the edges with a sanding block. We embossed on the designer paper using the Upsy Daisy stamp set – stamp in VersaMark ink and use white embossing powder. Then heat set the embossing powder. I did one before applying the paper to the coaster and I did another one after applying the paper to the coaster. I felt like the heat tool caused the coaster to warp a little but after lying flat over night it wasn’t noticeable any more so it might not really make a difference. I put the two coaster together and marked and punched the holes using my Crop-A-Dile. Then tied the Bermuda Bay ribbon through to hold the two coaster together. I stamped “always on my mind, forever in my heart” from the Stem Sayings stamp set using the Bermuda Bay ink above my flowers. The Bermuda Bay card stock is corner rounded with the corner punch and stuck on the right side with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My pictures is actually just held on by the little clip from the Clips Assortment. I tied a piece of the Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon on the clip.
The picture is Greg and I at the beach earlier this month. You might remember me telling you about the infection Greg had in his lymph nodes/neck area. If you look carefully at the picture you can see that on the left side of the picture his neck is swollen and the other side his neck is normal. In this picture he was already getting better (it was worse the week before) and now it is almost completely gone. I think he has one more follow up with the doctor in a couple of weeks.
Don’t forget to join me for the ROYAL BLOG TOUR that starts at midnight!
Have a great day!
