I don’t know what your weather is like but here it is cold and pouring rain (we may get 3 inches today)! A really yucky day and we could even have ice and snow tonight – right before Thanksgiving . So instead of heading out today (hopefully all your Thanksgiving shopping has been done) stay inside and do some shopping at my Stampin’ Up! store. It’s Tell Me Tuesday – with new weekly specials and My Digital Studio Digital Downloads, the big Online Holiday SALE continues through Dec. 2nd (check on that day for some more 24 deals)!
Finish up your My Digital Studio projects and send them to Stampin’ Up! to print by November 30th – that’s the last day of the print sale! And be on the look out for a few new things are coming on Dec. 1st.

It’s August 1st, 2013 and there are a bunch of brand new products available from Stampin’ Up! – yeah – we all love new stuff!
First the Holiday catalog starts today – get ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. The Holiday catalog has a new look to it – the first half of the catalog is chock full of samples and ideas and the second half has the details on all the products. There are a whole bunch of kits from cards, banners and treats to scrapbooks, tags and journals. Plus a new APP to bring the products in the catalog to life! Download and install the free Layar app to your mobile device. When you see the icon in the catalog use the app to scan the catalog page and unlock a video! How cool is that!

I think I’m going to learn how to spell Mosaic very quickly! I’m tired of the little red line telling me I spelled it wrong – I want to reverse the a and the i. Well I think I have it figured it out now.
Here is another Mosaic Madness card for you. I created this one for a swap with the GoDiva’s group. I received many wonderful cards in this swap and had a bunch on display at my open house. I really like the way this card turned out with the clear panel in the front. And I also decorated the inside too. I stamped and punched a ton of those little mosaic pieces!
- the card base is Strawberry Slush – one of the new In-Colors – the front is cut – the bottom edge is 1-1/2″ and the top section is 2-3/4″ – the strip I cut out is now sitting on my table waiting for something to be done with (I have a big stack)
- the top panel was stamped with the long strip image
- the bottom panel was stamped with VersaMark ink and “thank you” from Lovely & Lacey stamp set – then embossed with Pool Party embossing Powder.
- I used a piece of the printed clear window sheet from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer series paper. My card is actually only 4″ wide (instead of 4-1/4) so that I could maximize my window sheet. Attach to the top panel first – then close the card and position the bottom panel so that it is even with the bottom of the card back and attach it to the bottom end of the window sheet (I hope that made sense)
- Stamp the mosaic pieces – Pool Party and Daffodil Delight – for the front and the inside of the card – and punch out – that’s 8 total pieces per card.
- Tie a piece of Whisper White Baker’s twine around the front of the card and tie in a bow.
- Attach the mosaic pieces to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then attach to the inside of the card in the same spots.
- Finally I added a Whisper White piece to the inside bottom panel of the card.

Christmas in June!
So when I look at the Mosaic Madness stamp set I see some Christmas ornaments in there. All I needed to do was use colors that are for Christmas and then I can make Christmas cards in June or July. When we first got our glimpse of the new annual Stampin’ Up! catalog the big thing that was missing was the section for Holiday stamp sets. Oh no! But don’t despair they are coming in their very own Holiday catalog – it will be here soon – ordering starts August 1st. So if you can’t wait until August to start Christmas cards then use this idea and start in July (or in June).
The card layout idea came from another demo – I found it on pinterest and saw it also on Stampin’ Connection (a site for demonstrators). I wanted Christmas colors so I chose Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.
- card base is crumb cake
- on the Very Vanilla layer stamp the banner image (not sure what to call it) using Crumb Cake ink near the bottom, near the top punch out a Mosaic shape – then layer the Very Vanilla on Gumball Green which will show through the punched out area
- on a small Very Vanilla layer use the Big Shot to emboss with the Mosaic Madness embossing folder, punch out one section with the Mosaic punch and layer on a piece of Cherry Cobbler which will show through
- add the Cherry Cobbler layer onto the Gumball Green layer.
- tie Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine around the layers and tie in a bow.
- add the layers to the card front
- stamp the images in Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler and punch out with Mosaic punch and 3/4″ circle punch – add to the front of the card with dimensionals
- add Rhinestones to the ornaments
I didn’t actually add a greeting to this card but you could add one at the bottom and/or the inside. This was the Make&Take project at my team meeting on Saturday night. I really like the negative/positive aspect that you can create with all these coordinating products in this Mosaic collection.
