May 11, 2012 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Retired List, Stamper's Club |
I don’t know about anyone else but I love my butterfly stamps, and punches and dies. I was sad to see the butterfly punch and coordinating stamp sets on the retired lists – but I have seen the new catalog and let me just say that there are new butterflies in there – and I love them too…..I can’t wait until June 1st so I can place an order. But until then I am still playing with what I got. Last week Heather posted this super cute card on her blog and I knew I had to make one like it – here is mine –
This one uses the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding – they will both be in the new catalog starting June 1st. For my stamp club last week I created this version –
For this one I used the Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper that is in our current catalog and Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding – both of these will be retired at the end of the month. I also added a little tag – the “for you” is from the Clearly for You stamp set which is also retiring.
This quick and cute card idea would be easy to do with many designer papers and you could adapt it to use a star punch or some other shape. I think I’ll have to play some more with this design. Thanks Heather for the great card idea!
Have a great Mother’s Day weekend – I may or may not post again over the weekend. Tomorrow I’m taking Kyle to the airport – he is leaving for California and I’m a bit sad about that – I’m excited for him and the opportunity that he has, but sad that he’ll be so far away. Sunday we are going to see my mom and dad for the day and I’m really looking forward to that.

I just realized I didn’t post anything yesterday – oops. I took Kyle and Tyler out to lunch and shopping yesterday. And I was finishing up senior gifts for the Band Banquet that we have tonight – books created in My Digital Studio – I need to wrap them and add some printed tags, and then I made 8 1/2 x 11 pages in My Digital Studio and sent them to the local photo shop to print as 8×10 – sales yesterday for $1 a print! – bought frames at the store – and put those together last night. I also came home and made Turkey Lasagna – which seems to be Greg’s favorite meal these days. It was our last home made dinner with Kyle before he goes to California on Saturday – he’ll be gone all summer working out there. Plus Tyler got a job yesterday too – yeah! Then we spent about 2 hours trying to find the social security cards – they were not in the safe place they were supposed to be in – but I did find them. Any way on to a cute project.
Do you need a quick little gift for a teacher or mom? Check out this project that we made at Stamper’s Club Friday night. I think everyone really liked this one and it wasn’t hard to make.

Cut a piece of card stock – I used Basic Gray – to 10-3/4 x 5-1/2. Put it on the Simply Scored and score at 4-1/4, 4-1/2 and 9-1/2. On the end near the 9-1/2 score line punch with the scallop border punch. I also sponged the scallops with Basic Gray ink to make them show up against the front. Put an Antique Brad in the center of the folded flap to hold it down. Then the front just tucks under the scalloped edge to close. This is a matchbook style folder.
To decorate the front I used two stamp sets – Elizabeth and Clearly For You – both of these are on the retiring stamp set list. Stamp Elizabeth in Basic Gray on the front. Stamp the Clearly for You images on some Confetti White card stock (also retiring) – I used Sahara Sand ink and Basic Gray ink – punch with the large oval punch – add a bitty flower with a brad in the center and layer on a Baja Breeze scallop oval punch. Add a strip of the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (the gray print) to the front and layer the oval over the Elizabeth stamped image. Tie a piece of Baja Breeze Seam Binding in a knot and add with a glue dot above the oval.
On the inside I added a notepad with some Sticky Strip – stamp the pages if you like. I luckily found Baja Breeze pads at the dollar store! I also added a pen – there is a strip of the Gray designer paper in the barrel so it matches the project and a piece of the ribbon is tied on the top – use a mini glue dot to hold the ribbon.
I hope you like this project!

Look at this cute Monogram Corner Bookmark. We made these at Stamp Club last week.
Thi
s idea was in our Demonstrator Magazine – Stampin’ Success. I was expecting it to be a small corner bookmark but once I made mine it is much bigger than I expected.
The base is Pool Party card stock, there is a strip of Soft Suede, a Peach Parfait scallop circle, and some Very Vanilla for the monogram letter.
The stamps sets I used are Creative Elements and the Lovely Letters for the monogram.
The instructions included steps for decorating the back of the book mark – but they didn’t show us a picture so this was how mine turned out on the back side.
I did spritz the front and back with my Color Spritzer and an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker. I love the look of spritzing but it takes some practice to get the hang of how to hold the spritzer tool and where to set up the marker in the barrel.
I hope you like this useful little project. Put it on the corner of your page to mark your spot in your favorite book.

Apr 12, 2012 | Cards, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Mini 2012, Stamper's Club |
Oops – I forgot to post a project yesterday – I meant to but I forgot. I’ll have to make up for it by posting over the weekend again. Today I wanted to share a card I created for my stamp club – Cari my hostess wanted a card using the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set so this is what I ended up with.

I used the colors and some of the elements from the scrapbook page I made for Leadership back in January (post is here) and a card idea that I saw on Pinterest. And the end result was this card. The base is Riding Hood Red with squares punched from the Twitterpated Designer Series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog. The Gnome Sweet Gnome set is also in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The other colors I used are Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray.
On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White piece stamped along the bottom. All the coloring is done with Stampin’ Write Markers.

On the inside when I colored the rock I didn’t do a good job and colored into the flowers that are stamped on it – so to fix my mistake I punched two flowers using my itty bitty punch pack flower from Whisper White card stock and glued those to the rock to cover the other flowers. I added Daffodil Delight dots in the centers with a Stampin’ Write marker.
The Occasions Mini Catalog ends this month so if you want the Designer paper or the stamp set that I used for this card hurry and buy them before they are gone.

Apr 7, 2012 | Big Shot, Easter, Stamper's Club, Watercoloring, Wildlife |
I hope you are having a great weekend and that you have a Happy Easter with family and friends. I’ve been getting ready all day. The casseroles are ready to assemble and bake tomorrow, the ham is in the fridge, the brownies, cookies and treats are made, the tables are set, the eggs have been filled and the baskets are ready. I have laundry to finish and final cleaning to do and I’ll be all ready.
But for today I have one cute little purse to share – we made these last night at my stamp club meeting.
This is the new Petite Purse Die – a sneak peek from the new catalog – you can get it now during the month of April and then it will be available in our new catalog starting June 1st! These are so cute.
I made this one as a little Easter purse. The purse is cut from Crumb Cake card stock, then I cut an extra front panel and ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder and glued that to the front. I cut the back and flap out a second time with some designer paper – the new Summer Smooches Designer Series paper – also available as a sneak peek in April – I used the piece that had the Tangerine Tango print. The purse is assembled with a little bit of sticky strip on the two side flaps.
The handle is cut along with
purse and I glued it to the back side of a piece of Tangerine Tango scalloped polka dot ribbon. Then attached the ends inside the purse with a little piece of sticky strip.
I added a “Happy Easter” tag to the handle and a little button to the front flap. Finally I stamped the little bunny from the Every Bunny stamp set on some Naturals White card stock using black StazOn ink and Watercolored with an AquaPainter. The bunny is Crumb Cake and the scarf is Daffodil Delight. For the egg I stamped the image on a scrap piece of the same designer paper and cut it out and glued it on top of the watercolored image. The cut out bunny is then attached to the front of the little purse with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Inside the purse is none other than a yummy Peanut Butter Egg!
And I checked the bird house this morning and we have babies!
See TWO babies ready to eat!
There were 5 eggs and mom was watching me so I only took a quick peek and got this pictures showing the 2 babies – I don’t know if the others hatched yet. I’ll check again in a day or so. These are the chickadees.
And one more picture to share with you today. In my craft room I have two dogs beds for the dogs but they are different and they both always prefer the one the other one is in. So on Friday Magnolia was in the dog bed and all of sudden Aspen hops in and lays down and she gives me this look – “Mom, look what he did…….”

I hope you enjoyed the cute little project and the fun pictures. Have a great Easter Sunday and I’ll be back next week.

Jan 9, 2012 | Big Shot, Birthday, Stamper's Club, Stampin' Up! Events |
Well it is Monday – and all my boys are back to school. Ryan actually went back last week – that’s the high school. Kyle and Tyler went back to college on Friday and their classes start today. So I’m in the house alone today. I have lots of work to do to get ready to go to leadership so I’m trying to work on that this week. Next Tuesday I’ll be going – my friend Diane is traveling with me and we will be rooming with Michelle and Becky and our friends Fran and Linda have a room in our hotel too. We will be in San Antonio, TX for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference. I’m very excited – it will be my very first Manager’s Reception. That reminds me I need to take pictures of the invitation and post that for you to see – very unique!
But for today I have a fun cheery project – we made this Friday night at my Stamp Club. I have been wanting to make this project for the last year – it was an idea that I got in a swap last year at the leadership conference. So I have held on to it waiting for the right time to use it and it happened to be at this months’ stamp club meeting. Here it is –

Doesn’t it look like a bright happy project? This would be fun as a treat at a birthday party or come up with other ideas – you just need something flat that will fit inside the CD case as the treat. I used Twizzlers for this project – we cut the long ropes in half to put them in the case. The inside of the case is lined with a piece of the Big Top Birthday Designer Series paper. Then the outside is wrapped with a belly band made from a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock and another strip of the Big Top Birthday Paper. Then tie a piece of ribbon around it. To finish the front I added a scallop circle (cut with the Big Shot) and a punched circle and some balloons.
the stamp set is called Up, Up & Away. A fun hot air balloon set. I saw a tip on another demonstrators blog for an easy way to cut out the balloons since we don’t have a balloon punch.
Stamp the balloon and then use the 1-3/8″ circle punch to punch it out – line up the top and bottom of the balloon. Then you have a circle and just trim the two sides to get the balloon shape. It’s a little bit faster than cutting out the whole thing and gives a nice curve across the top.
Tie two little bows with White Baker’s Twine – and then roll up a mini glue dot to attach them to the base of each balloon. Attach the balloons with dimensionals to the circle.
I hope you like this fun cheery project. I wish I knew who to thank for the idea but my swap from last year doesn’t have a name on it. She used different paper and a different stamp set to decorate hers – what I used is in our current Idea Book & Catalog.
