One of the awesome things about Stampin’ Up! demonstrators is that they share their creative ideas. Often I hear someone tell me that they could never be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator because they aren’t creative – they could never come up with ideas. Well ladies, let me tell you that is not a reason at all. You don’t need to come up with any ideas on your own if you don’t want to. There are sooooo many places for you to go to get ideas. Demonstrators all over the world post their ideas on their own personal blogs, on their websites, on yahoo groups, on online classrooms, on online communities; not to mention the resources that Stampin’ Up! provides – a monthly demo magazine, videos, training at events, ideas on their websites, and more. In fact there are way more ideas out there than any one person could ever use or show. So don’t let that be the reason you don’t join. Now is a great time to sign up as a demonstrator and I would love to have you join my team. Are you interested? The starter kit is 15% OFF plus you get a $50 bonus product bundle -Stampin’ Up! is such a wonderful company – if you want to know more let me know – I’d love to talk to you about it – just contact me – click on the contact me button at the top of my blog.
So now on to another cute project that was shared by Angie Juda on her blog – if you want the instructions visit her here.
This cute little thing is made from the Petal Cone Die in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions mini catalog. Really it is! Basically you cut off the bottom of the cone portion and create flaps to make the bottom of the little container.
I don’t know about you but this Eat Chocolate stamp set is so yummy. I have to keep it put away because it makes me want to go eat chocolate. This little box is made with Soft Suede an Blush Blossom card stock. I added sponging on the white and pink pieces.
So go eat some chocolate today!
And now for the next Spring Bingo piece – here you go –
Good Luck players!

Mar 7, 2011 | Big Shot, Cards, Hello Again, Occasions Mini 2011 |
This is a quick and easy card. It uses the Sweet Buttons Embosslit from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog. Use with the Big Shot, standard cutting pads and Multipurpose platform. I cut buttons in Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight. Each die cuts 6 different button shapes so you could make 6 different cards using all the buttons.
I used a paper piercer to pierce holes through the embossed buttons – it doesn’t actually cut the little holes for the thread. Then threaded some white crochet thread and tied little bows. Each button was attached to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The card base is Chocolate Chip. Doodle a line with a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker around the edge of the card. One corner (bottom left) was corner rounded.
In the corner I stamped “hello” from the Hello Again stamp set. On the inside of the card I stamped a button image from the Button, Button stamp set that coordinates with the Sweet Buttons Embosslit. Both are part of a full collection of coordinating products from the Occasions Mini Catalog called Oh Sew Suite.
Today is day 2 of Monika’s Spring Bingo – for those of you that are playing here is the next piece.

Mar 3, 2011 | Big Shot, Birthday, Cards, Occasions Mini 2011 |
Every few days I take a couple of minutes to check out some of the creations that demonstrators have added on Stampin’ Connection – a demonstrator only online community. There are thousands of ideas out there for us to look through. I found the cutest cupcake card created by Andrea Thompson. I considered changing up the colors but I really found her color choices to be so pretty that I ultimately decided to keep the colors basically the same. I loved the little pearl accents but I didn’t use quite as many as Andrea’s original card.
The texture on a couple of pieces is a fun addition. The Build a Cupcake punch make this card much faster than you would think. The only piece you have to hand cut is the little flower – the rest of the pieces are punched. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White. I did use Melon Mambo for the heart, cherry and flower.
Something fun and exciting is that Stampin’ Up! is giving all of it’s demonstrators a birthday present this year – we get 15% off one item during our birthday month and guess what mine is just a couple of days away! I’m trying to decide what to use it on – should I get a bag for my Big Shot or the other set of Alphabet dies? Plus I have a Stampin’ Up! Gift Card that I got for my Great Rewards points – so I don’t even have to spend my own money on it! Whoo hoo – I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!
Does anyone have thoughts on American Idol? I watched the boys sing Tuesday night and some I don’t like at all, some I really like and then there is the in between group. I think they are picking 5 – so this is who I choose as my top 5 – James, Jacob, Casey, Paul and Scotty. What do you think? Did you pick?
The girls sang Wednesday night and I don’t think I like them as much as the boys – it may be a boys year. My 5 for the girls are Karen, Haley, Thia, Pia (that just sounds funny with both of them), and Lauren Alaina (she’s from Georgia so I have to root for her – but she was one of the better singers too). So tonight I can see how well I picked.
Have a sweet day!!

Mar 2, 2011 | Birthday, Designer Series Paper, In Colors, Occasions Mini 2011 |
At the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in January I participated in a candy wrapper swap and got some really great ideas that I’m incorporating into my classes and club meetings. This idea was from my friend Connie Babbert (from Create with Connie & Mary).
These are made from a 6×6 piece of Designer Series Paper. I decided for my Birthday class we would make these using the In Color Patterns Paper Pack that you can get as a Level 1 Hostess set. I let everyone choose the color that they wanted. There is just one score line to create the top fold.
We used a strip of Whisper White card stock that was punched with the Scallop Border punch and glued on the inside front panel. You can’t see them to well in the picture but we used a coordinating Stampin’ Write Marker to add dots to the scallops – everyone thought it was pierced and the paper was showing through the holes but it is just the marker.
Punch two hole in the top through the front and back layers using the Crop-A-Dile and tie a piece of ribbon through. The tag uses the Eat Chocolate stamp set punched with the Wide Oval punch and layered on the Decorative Label punch in the matching In Color. On the corner we added a Bitty Button – punch the button shape using the Punch Pack punch that matches the button shape. What I do is use a bit of snail and attach the button to the punched card stock. Then with a Paper piercer I pierce the button holes. Then I use a dental flosser to pull a piece of crochet thread through the holes and tie it in a knot. Punch a hole to add the tag to the ribbon.
Slide a skinny candy inside – something like a SKOR or Dove bar – you can use two mini glue dots to secure it on the inside so it doesn’t slide right back out. These were quick and easy especially if you use the 6×6 paper stacks so you don’t even have to cut the paper.
Thanks Connie for this great project!

Mar 1, 2011 | Cards, Occasions Mini 2011, SU Buttons, UDI Color Challenge |
We had storms yesterday afternoon – wind, hail, rain, lightening, tornado sirens going off. My car has been parked outside because my side of the garage is the work area while Greg is finishing the deck. When he got home and the storm was headed our way he said lets get everything out of the garage and get your car in – so we are scrambling to move everything as the storm approaches – I open the doors and it is pouring rain, wind blowing and hail coming down – Greg says to me “run it will only sting for a minute”!
Are you kidding – he wanted me to run out there – shouldn’t he be the one running out there! I wouldn’t go so he finally did without his glasses (he didn’t want to get those wet) – so then he couldn’t see to get my car in the garage because he couldn’t see through the rain without his glasses – it took him 4 tries with me waving my hands to go this way or that. He finally got the car in and I got the garage door shut. We went inside and Tyler says – “The grill is blowing across the deck” – it is on wheels and they weren’t locked so the big grill was rolling around the deck (we haven’t connected the gas line yet with the construction not quite done). My guess is it was probably quite comical if anyone was watching us. The storm finally passed with no actual tornado here.
I’m happy to report the new room is water tight – no leaks anywhere! And the new gutters worked well (I’m so glad they were there). The rain came so fast though the yard flooded and the neighbor had a river coming down his hill. And there was hail everywhere – I didn’t measure it but the news reports dime size to quarter size in our area.
Anyway none of that has anything to do with my card for today. Well sort of it does – after that Greg decided it was a good time to connect some power protector thing to the computer and in doing so he had the internet down and our network is now messed up. The internet is up but I can’t get to the network where my files are. He went to bed and it is not a good idea to wake him up – really never a good idea to do that – he is very grumpy if you do. So my dilemma was how to get my picture to create this post since I’m writing it at night before I go to bed. Luckily I had the email in my sent folder that I sent to Gretchen over the weekend and was able to copy it from there back to my laptop to use for this post. Well that was a long story to get to the Color Challenge for today.

Click on this link to go to the Utah Diva’s Color Challenge blog. We are on week #25 and we have lots of colors today. I don’t really like when there are so many colors and I kept thinking flowers and butterflies and wanting there to be a green in this grouping and there isn’t.
So what to do with Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, and Basic Grey…. I have been wanting to use the little builder wheels in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog so I decided to try something actually very simple. I also checked and all of those colors happened to be part of our button collection – which is not always the case with these color challenges. And here is my very simple card.
It’s actually a terrible picture of it. But the card base is Basic Grey and I wheeled the builder wheels with VersaMark ink, sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over it and heat set. It really makes the designs pop out on this card. Then I took a small flower button in each of the colors tied a piece of thread through the center and added them to the card with mini glue dots. Really not much to this card at all.
Oh and one trick with the Builder Wheels – sometimes the wheels are a bit uneven and when you wheel across the table not all of the wheel makes contact with your paper leaving some spots blank. I was having a problem with that on the center wheel. My solution – I took the silicone rubber pad that I use with the Big Shot and the Texture plates and placed it underneath my grid paper and card. Then rolled the ink on and it has enough give that the wheels make contact with the paper everywhere. I hope that makes sense – is it as clear as the mud that is in our yard from yesterdays storm?

Feb 26, 2011 | Big Shot, Birthday, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Mini 2011 |
I added another picture to yesterday’s post on the ice cream cone card – it shows the inside of the card.
Today’s project share is a cute little cupcake box designed by Becky Roberts – if you would like the measurements and directions you can find them on her blog – here.
This was another project for my Birthday Class this month. I like the clear window added to the top and the side of the box so you can see what is inside. The box fits one normal sized cupcake inside.
I used the Celebrations Designer Series Paper to determine my colors for this project. Pacific Point, Real Red, Old Olive and Bashful Blue. The sides and back of the box are decorated with the Designer Paper.
The front and top of the box are decorated with the Create a Cupcake stamp set and Build a Cupcake Punch both from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions mini catalog.
I will tell you a little trick that I found to be easier for me to create the little punched cherry. I just use a white punched cherry and then color it with Stampin’ Write markers. The cherry stamp does fit in the punch but I can never seem to line it up perfectly to punch it because it is so small. So I use the stamp when I’m not punching it out and just color a plain white cherry when I need the punched version. I hope that made sense.
And before you put the lid together send it through the Big Shot inside the Dots embossing folder if you want the dots. I did it on my sample and forgot to do it when I demonstrated it in the class. That’s when I say – “do what I say not what I do” – if you want to match my original sample . The tag on the top of the box is the “happy birthday” punched with the Modern Label punch and then I doodled around the edges with the Real Red Stampin’ Write marker. I love this fun little project and I hope you do to!
For the handle use the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in each side and add some ribbon for the little handle.
Enjoy your weekend.
