Gift bags are easy to make with Stampin’ Up! products. Just buy plain white or kraft colored gift bags or various sizes and add a tag, decorate the front and insert your gift and some matching tissue. For this bag the tissue was cut with the Fringe Scissors to give it some interest. You could also stamp on your tissue paper.
This bag idea came from my friend Cindy – you can see her bag here. I used the same idea but with different colors. And I love her colored tissue paper but I didn’t have any to match my color scheme so I just used white.
Do you ever keep the rubber scraps that are left after you assemble your stamp set? I used to years ago when we just had the wood stamps – I never really did anything with it though. At one point in time we would cut it and use the foam like a dimensional. Now I save my rubber scrap for my clear mounted stamp sets – I attach it inside the case and then put the stamps back in place when I’m storing them. This helps me know if I’m missing any stamps out of the set. For this Starburst Sayings stamp set however I didn’t attach the rubber scrap inside my case. That’s because it has various sized circles which are perfect to use as a template. Cindy was clever enough to use the circles on her bag. Just go around them with your Stampin’ Write markers.
To create the tag –
I used a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper – cut it with the Banner Framelit to make a banner.
Used a 2″ strip of Basic Black card stock – punch with the Angled Tag Topper punch
Stamped the “Oh Happy Day” image – once in Bermuda Bay and cut it out with the Starburst Framelit and once with Crushed Curry and hand cut just the HAPPY. Attached these pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut a Melon Mambo piece of card stock with the arrow from the On Film Framelits and attached that to the top of the tag.
Add Bakers Twine through the tap topper and tie it to the handle of the bag.
Tie a piece of the Basic Black Chevron Ribbon around the handle of the bag.
I used this bag for my nephew’s birthday gift – the card I made for him was in these same colors.
Those are some of the stamps in the Cool Kid stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I used it this week to make birthday cards for my niece and nephew. I think they are cool kids and this was the perfect stamp set for that. I bought it with the two of them in mind. I used the same basic layout for both cards and the same pack of Designer Series paper – I just focused on different colors and images so that I could create a “boy” version and a “girl” version of the same card.
Here is Ally’s card – I used Melon Mambo (she loves pink) and the cat and kites.
And this one is Noah’s card – no pink on this one and I used the dog with the paper airplanes. His card is actually on a Basic Black card base which you can’t see because I photographed on a black background.
Supplies used for these cards:
Cool Kid* stamp set, Bring on the Cake stamp set
Kaleidoscope* Designer Series Paper
On Film Framelits Dies*
Girl card: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stock
Boy card: Basic Black, Crushed Curry & Whisper White card stock
Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo classic ink

I gave Noah his card – he had his 9th birthday – when he opened it – I said “I made that card for you.” – he reply with a big grin – “I knew you were going to make me a card!”
If you need a quick card try the Happenings Simply Created Card Kit.
The card kit is in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog for $14.95. It comes with supplies to make 15 cards including envelopes. All you need is a greeting stamp and ink and your adhesive to finish the cards in the kit. There are 3 different designs. This is one of them. Really quick and easy.
And since I’ve been gone today and only home for just a minute this post is short!
The Starburst Sayings* stamp set and matching Starburst Framelits* are a fun bundle to play with. I was working on ideas for something else when I created this card. My KSU girls requested a St. Patty’s day card for our February card class. Yes they are ahead of the game! And while working with this set I thought the Oh Happy Day sounded like something you would say on St. Patrick’s Day – right? So I decided to use that to create the card for the KSU class.
I wanted to add what looked like a 4 leaf clover so I tried the new Petite Petals punch*. You might be thinking that doesn’t have 4 petals it has 5. Yes it does but if you cut a slit between two of the petals and then overlap them – you get a little 4 leaf clover – just glue the overlapped petals together and it gives it added dimension too!
For those that wanted a St. Patrick’s Day card they stamped the inside with Teeny Tiny Wishes. And otherwise this could be a birthday or every day kind of card.
Here are some more details on this card –
Card base is Old Olive
Whisper White layer embossed with Arrows Textured Embossing Folder*
Old Olive card stock cut with the Starburst Framelit*
Stamp the Oh Happy Day* in Smoky Slate on Whisper White card stock and cut with the Starburst Framelit.
Cut a Tangerine Tango with the same size Starburst Framelit – off set it behind the white stamped one.
Attach that to the large Old Olive starburst and add to the card front.
Stamp Oh Happy Day in Tangerine Tango on Whisper White card stock and cut out the HAPPY – straight cuts into a rectangle. Add it over the top of the Smoky Slate one.
Create the little clover from Old Olive card stock as mentioned above. Attach with a mini glue dot. Add a pearl to the center.
Stamp inside Whisper White layer as desired.

Yay! Stampin’ Up! has their own Texture Boutique Embossing Machine!
Remember last year we had it for a brief period of time – I think it sold out in 2 or 3 days! It was popular and I love mine. I use it almost exclusively for embossing in my craft room and use it often it my classes too. For me sometimes the Big Shot gives a little too much pressure and I have to adjust my tabs and shims but the Boutique seems to be just right every time.
So I created this little card based on the video that SU released on the machine. I’ll attach the video for you too. In the video Brian uses this idea on a little treat bag and I just adapted it to a card.
For my card I used the following things:
Baked Brown Sugar card base
Whisper White layer
Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar strips for embossing
Arrows Textured Embossing Folder
Texture Boutique Embossing Machine
Perfect Pennants stamp set and Banner Framelits Dies (available as a bundle)
Tangerine Tango ink
Retro Fresh Washi Tape
Whisper White Baker’s Twine
Here is the video:
The Texture Boutique is available in my online store – SHOP HERE.
