Apr 2, 2014 | Envelope Punch Board, Occasions Catalog 2014, Paper Pumpkin |
I’m back with another alternate idea for one of the Paper Pumpkin kits. For this project I used the stamps from the Real Life Mini Scrapbook that came out for our December 2013 kit. The little scrapbook itself was super cute but here is another idea for all those fun stamps.
It’s a note card set in a window tin. I was able to fit a set of 12 note cards in there – actually more would fit – but for my class we made 12. Here are some “notes” on how I created this project:
- I used Very Vanilla card stock for each note card cut to fit inside the tin.
- On one end I added a strip of the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper – I used all 12 prints from the package.
- Then corner rounded all four corners on each card – I used the Envelope Punch Board to do this.
- I went back and added a strip of the Retro Fresh Washi tape to each card overlapping the designer paper.
- Stamp each of the four images 3 times – I hand cut the word bubble, banner and arrow and used a circle punch for the starburst. Attach these to the cards with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

- Decorate the tin with some of the Washi Tape and some Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Stretched ribbon.
- To finish it off I added one of the wood accents and guess what – It’s a PERFECT match to the Take Note Starburst stamp! Who knew!

And as it turns out the note cards will fit in the note card envelopes that Stampin’ Up! sells – we have some Crumb Cake ones and then the set of white. They just don’t quite fit in the tin. You could also make envelopes with the Retro Fresh Designer Paper and the envelope Punch Board. Or just leave them like they are and tuck a note in a lunch box, brief case or anywhere else you want to leave a little note for someone!
The Retro Fresh Designer Paper and Washi Tape and the wood elements are all from the Occasions Catalog.

Mar 31, 2014 | Big Shot, Occasions Catalog 2014, Sale-A-Bration 2014, Wildlife |
I got another picture of the baby bluebirds yesterday – March 30th –

I for sure see 4 babies – there were 5 eggs originally, so the 5th one could be hidden in the pile or perhaps the egg didn’t hatch. Hopefully a future photo will show the 5th baby. I’ll try to get another photo today and if I do it will be posted on my Facebook page.
Today I have a sweet little project to share combining the Spiral Flower die from the Occasions catalog and the Banner Blast set from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. By the way today – Monday, March 31st is the LAST day to place an order or join and take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration specials – free items for each $50 you spend, if you join and extra $25 in your starter kit! You can order or join directly from my website – click here – click SHOP or JOIN.
So here is my little project –
Aren’t these the cutest little flower pops! Once you get the hang of it they are pretty quick to make – cut the spiral flower on the Big Shot and then you roll it up – and it works so much better if you use some craft tweezers to do the twirling.

The Pansy punch is what I used for the leaves. Punch a hole in the center of the pansy and also in the little tab end of the spiral flower – that’s where the stick of the lollipop goes through – if you push those over the base of the wrapper they will stay put.
To finish this cute little treat I added the tag from the Banner Blast set.
- Stamp the Hi image in Primrose Petals – by the way I used Primrose Petals Coordinations card stock for the flower
- Punch it out with the banner punch
- Punch a small hole in the corner
- Then tie it on with the twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack

Fun treat to give all your friends this spring!

Mar 26, 2014 | Cards, Occasions Catalog 2014, Paper Pumpkin, Washi Tape |
Back in January I went to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership and participated in the Paper Pumpkin craft wars. We only had about 15 minutes to create a card using past Paper Pumpkin kit stamps and new products from the Occasions catalog. My card was one of the selected winners! For my Paper Pumpkin Hands-On class this month I decided to create another version of this card using the same idea. To see the original card go to THIS blog post.
Here is the new card – another alternate idea using some of the past Paper Pumpkin card kits.

You may not be able to tell right away but I used the stamps from two different Paper Pumpkin Kits. The obvious one is the Hey There Friend which is the Welcome Kit that everyone receives when they join Paper Pumpkin. It has the fun splatter and the words in it. The second set that I used is the Party Pennants stamps from the July 2013 Paper Pumpkin kit – there were three little background stamps in the kit and I used those to create my flowers. The stamps are perfect for creating “designer paper” in any color that you want to punch flowers or other shapes.
Here are some of the specifics for this card:
- The card base is Crumb Cake.
- Then I have two layers – a layer of Coastal Cabana and the Whisper White layer
- The Whisper White layer is stamped with the splatter using the Gold Encore ink – I did stamp multiple times between inking which gives varying degrees of gold splatter. The “hey there friend” is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink.
- To create the flowers I stamped each of the Party Pennants backgrounds on Whisper White card stock – one in Coastal Cabana, one in Bermuda Bay and one in Pool Party. Then use the Petite Petals Punch to punch out two flowers from each one. Then I used the matching Stampin’ Write Marker to go around the edge of each flower. I think it gives the flowers some extra definition.
- Punch a small hole in the center of each flower. Pull some of the Gold Sequins off of the trim and then string a sequin and both matching flowers onto a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine. Tie a knot in the ribbon for the center of the flower.

- I attached the flowers on to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then took all three pieces of Baker’s Twine and knotted them together.
- Add a piece of the Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon to the front with a piece of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi tape. Then I added another piece of Washi Tape.
- Put the White/Coastal Cabana layers on the card base.
What do you think? I really like how the flowers turned out. And I’m happy with the whole card – the gold with all the shades of blue are very pretty together.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Mar 14, 2014 | In Colors, Occasions Catalog 2014, Sale-A-Bration 2014, Scrapbook Pages |
I created a scrapbook layout with the Sweet Sorbet Collection from Sale-A-Bration. I used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper and the Accessory Pack along with the See Ya Later stamp set. Here is my 2-page 12″ x 12″ scrapbook layout.

The colors included are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, and Whisper White. Here are some closeups of the clusters of elements….

After I took out the cork pieces that I was using I decided to try punching out from the scraps that were left. I was able to use the Itty Bitty Punch pack and punch extra little flowers to add on my page. I just used a Black Marker to add a dot in the center of each flower.

There is a punched heart border across the layout with flower sprinkled in. The flowers are from the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.
I tied bows with the colored Baker’s Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack and added them to my page with glue dots. To keep the ends from unraveling I tied little knots.
A couple of the In Color Boutique Details were added to the page too – Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding were part of my color scheme. If you have been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber you would have received a free gift of these in one of the last few kits – I think they came in the January kit.
The page is ready for pictures and journaling to be added. What do you think about the layout?
Thanks for stopping by.

Mar 10, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Occasions Catalog 2014, Punch Art, Sale-A-Bration 2014 |
I made this fun card for Kyle the other day –

I sent him a box of Girl Scout cookies and thought they needed a fun card to go along with them. Cookie Monster was perfect. This is what I used –
- Circle Framelits, Word Bubble Framelits (from the Occasions catalog)
- Big Shot Die Cut Machine, Magnetic Platform
- Circle Punches (so I forgot exactly which sizes and I don’t have the card here to measure – I’m thinking the 1-3/4″ and the 1″ for the eyes, and 1-1/4″ for the cookie)
- Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (from the Sale-A-Bration brochure)
- Oh, Goodie! stamp set (carry-over from the Holiday catalog)
Inside there is a white circle and I stamped “Enjoy” also from the Oh, Goodie! stamp set.

Just a tip on making the card base – go ahead and cut a standard size card base and score it – fold the card and place it so the scalloped circle cuts near the edge of the cut side of the card and the folded side doesn’t get cut because it is inside the die. I guess I should have taken a picture of that. Hopefully it makes sense.
Enjoy!
