Awesome Class today

I had a great class today!  Everyone had so much fun and the projects were so much fun.  It was a Sweet Treats class.  We made 6 different treat holders – all different holidays and all are easily adaptable to other things.  I’ll share them over the next few days.

Here is the first onesweet-treat-flower – a flower using the Sweet Treat cups and the Sweet Centers stamp set.  All the flower petals are inked in So Saffron then rock-n-rolled in Close to Cocoa.  There are basically two layers of petals – 8 on the bottom snailed onto a 3×3 square base and then 8 more on dimensionals.  Then I trimmed the back of it so it wasn’t visible. For the class the back of the flower (where you can see inside the cup) was actually chocolate chip.  And we filled them with Chocolate Covered Raisins – I wasn’t having luck getting lots of brown M&Ms in my bags.   The stick is the skewer left from the Summer Cookout kit.  We used the Oval All stamp set to create a tag.  Mine says thank you but you could use the flower for lots of things.

I’m headed off to scrapbook with Wendy and create our October Wow Scrapbook Kit.

I hope the rain holds out so they can get the football games in.

I’ll be back tomorrow.

Sweet Centers idea

I have been playing with the Sweet Centers stamp set and Sweet Treat cups in the Holiday Mini Catalog – by the way I add a link in my side-bar.

This is a reall all occasions set – obviously it has Halloween and Valentine’s Day images.  The other may not be so obvious.  There is the basket for a hot air balloon – this could be used for birthdays, weddings, baby showers or combine it with the heart for Valentine’s Day.   The leaves and flower petal (in case you wondered what they were) could be a girl birthday, spring, fall flowers, use it as a thank you and I’m sure there is more that can be done with those pieces.  I used them for a flower project that we will make at my class tomorrow – really cute – I’ll post that project later.  And the other little piece is supposed to be the top of an ornament.  That was the one I was playing with last night.  I realized I could put that top on any circle piece not just the little treat cup – so I pulled out my Circle Circus stamp set.  And here is my result – it’s a first draft and I have some things I want to change now that it is done but I thought I would share it anyway.sweet-centers-ornament

I stamped the largest image from Circle Circus three times and then stamped the ornament top above each one.  I didn’t like them hanging in mid air so I pulled out Inspired By Nature and used the grass image to look like branches on a Christmas Tree (I masked my ornaments first).  I used Garden Green and then sponged around the edges to softened it all up.  I decided it needed a little bling so I grabbed my Circle Fire Rhinestone brads and used the tiny red ones.  And then wanted some dimension so I stamped the ornament tops and cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals.  I think I would change that and pop up the actual balls instead.

As an after thought I added the greeting – which I did a poor job of placing.  I needed to plan for the greeting to begin with so I had the space for it.  Anyway it is a rough draft card and has some potential.

It has been pouring down rain again today – and the forecast has rain for the next 9 days – bummer – since we have fall break next week and are planning to go for a few days to Red Top Mountain.  We were hoping to hike, play in the lake, build camp fires and grill out.  Not sure if that is going to happen but what does the weather man really know anyway.

I’m headed up to prep for tomorrow’s class and later I’ll be participating in a Webinar on how to create Greeting Cards using the new My Digital Studio.  I’m working on my certification – yep I’m getting certified and I even have to take quizzes – oh boy….

Stay dry today!

Busy Day….

It is a busy day – so just a quick note…..

I’m working on:

  • updating my blog with the new Holiday Mini Catalog links
  • getting my September Newsletter together
  • finishing the August Class to Go kits
  • getting out the August WOW Scrapbook kits
  • posting the new September WOW Scrapbook kits
  • creating a “Graduation” scrapbook class – create a scrapbook for your child that highlights their school years – Kindergarten – 12th grade
  • and more…

I was working last night in the craft room – creating projects for the sweet treats class later this month and had one of those light bulb moments for an idea for the Build-A-Bears – at midnight I was trying to get my idea out but it was just too late and I had to go to bed.  Now I’ve been so busy I haven’t gotten back to it – but I think I want to send it in to one of the Stampin’ Up! contests so I may not show it yet…..

And BIG ANNOUNCEMENT from Stampin’ Up! today:
