Apr 14, 2014 | Big Shot, Designer Series Paper, Occasions Catalog 2014, Scrapbook Pages |
We are in full spring mode around here and I’m so happy! I love spring! For my March scrapbook class I created this Welcome Spring two-page layout.

It features the Afternoon Tea Designer Series paper – I used it for the border and the flowers. This is such a pretty pack of paper that I had kind of overlooked in the catalog. It’s perfect for Spring and it may look a bit familiar – we had another pack in a past catalog with the same designs just a different color combination.
Let’s take a little closer look at this layout –
- The base is Soft Suede 12×12 card stock
- The Pear Pizzazz pieces are where your photos will go – either collage them or mat them or line them up all the way across the layout.
- The border along the bottom is made with the Banner punch that was in the Sale-A-Bration brochure – it will be returning in our next annual catalog – so keep your eye out for it. I punched pieces of the Afternoon Tea Designer Paper and randomly placed them along the bottom of the Pear Pizzazz pieces. Over the top is a piece of the Burlap Ribbon – I cut mine into 4 strips. I also added little flowers from the Punch Pack in the coordinating colors.

- I used the Pansy Punch was used to punch the flowers from the Designer paper and also from Pear Pizzazz card stock (those become the leaves underneath). Curl them all a little. Punch Soft Suede bitty flowers with the punch from the Punch Pack. Layer the flowers – a bitty flower, designer paper flower and card stock flower then use a paper piercer to put holes in the center and add a silver mini brad to each.
- Cut a frame with the On Film Framelits from Very Vanilla card stock for the left page. Tie a piece of Linen Thread around the side of the frame. I love Linen Thread.

- I used the Two-Step Bird punch to make the bird and branch. Sponge the Very Vanilla bird with Wisteria Wonder ink. And an eye with the Soft Suede marker. The branch is Pear Pizzazz. I used some strands from the burlap ribbon to put under the birds beak – like he is carrying straw to build a nest. Yeah – that’s what has been going on in my yard.
- On the right page there is a journaling tag. Use a 2″ strip of Very vanilla and punch with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. Add a piece of Pear Pizzazz ribbon tied on with Linen Thread. Add a strip of the designer paper and one of the flowers to the tag.

- Add the photos and journaling to finish the page.
Now I need to print some photos to put on my layout. I got some really good shots around the yard the last few days.

Mar 5, 2014 | Birthday, Designer Series Paper, Envelope Punch Board, Mini Scrapbook, Tutorial |
I thought I would do something fun on my blog for today to celebrate my birthday. I’d like for you to leave me a comment and let me know which project/blog post has been your favorite on my blog. I’ll pick a winner to receive a free tutorial of the project I’m sharing with you today. And if you place a Stampin’ Up! order in my online store I’ll send you the tutorial for free. You can shop my store here. You’ll have through Friday to leave your comment and/or place an order. I’ll send the tutorials out via email this weekend.
This is one of my favorite projects that I’ve made in the last few months.

It is so pretty in person. The combination of Basic Black and Very Vanilla from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper along with the GOLD accents and the pop of color from the Coastal Cabana it’s just beautiful!
There are touches of gold and the natural elements from the Linen Thread and Cotton Ribbon are unique combination.
The book has multiple pages made out of coasters. Plus a fun pocket page in the center.

The tutorial has all the details to make this project including lots of photos. I hope you’ll leave me some love today!

Cool Kid. AWESOME. amazing SUPERHERO.
Those are some of the stamps in the Cool Kid stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I used it this week to make birthday cards for my niece and nephew. I think they are cool kids and this was the perfect stamp set for that. I bought it with the two of them in mind. I used the same basic layout for both cards and the same pack of Designer Series paper – I just focused on different colors and images so that I could create a “boy” version and a “girl” version of the same card.
Here is Ally’s card – I used Melon Mambo (she loves pink) and the cat and kites.

And this one is Noah’s card – no pink on this one and I used the dog with the paper airplanes. His card is actually on a Basic Black card base which you can’t see because I photographed on a black background.

Supplies used for these cards:
- Cool Kid* stamp set, Bring on the Cake stamp set
- Kaleidoscope* Designer Series Paper
- On Film Framelits Dies*
- Girl card: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stock
- Boy card: Basic Black, Crushed Curry & Whisper White card stock
- Girl card: Basic Rhinestone, Regals Designer Buttons
- Boy card: Neutral Candy Dots, Basic Metal Buttons*
- Whisper White Baker’s Twine
- Stampin’ Write Makers: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate
- Jet Black Staz On
- Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo classic ink
*Products featured in the Occasions 2014 catalog. If you would like to order any of these products – SHOP HERE.
I gave Noah his card – he had his 9th birthday – when he opened it – I said “I made that card for you.” – he reply with a big grin – “I knew you were going to make me a card!”
Find some cool kids and make them a fun card.

It may be Wednesday by the time you see this but it is still Tuesday here where I am. Kyle and I traveled to San Francisco today. Came in on a full 5 hour flight. We only went around in circles a few times before we got to the entrance and then had to wait to turn cause a fedex truck was blocking it. Anyway we are in the hotel room and heading to bed soon – even though its still relatively early here. We will have a busy couple of days apartment hunting.

Nov 18, 2013 | Big Shot, Designer Series Paper, Holiday Catalog 2013, Scrapbook Pages, Thanksgiving |
It has been a long time since I shared a scrapbook layout – it was August! I was working on my class reminder email for the scrapbook class this week and wanted to add a picture and realized I didn’t have any recent ones. But I found some that we made in the last few months and took some quick photos so I could add to my email and decided to go ahead and post here on my blog today too. This is a perfect layout for this time of year.
One Fall Day
My yard is covered in falling leaves. As soon as Greg cleans the yard the leaves are back. Right now it’s a never ending battle. And I can’t believe it is almost Thanksgiving! Normally we travel to Virginia for at least the last 11 years. But this year everyone will come here to our house and I’m going to attempt to cook a big turkey!
Here is a little more detail on the One Fall Day layout.
background is Sahara Sand card stock – drag the edges in a Chocolate Chip ink pad- cut squares from the Sweater Weather Designer Paper – draw doodle lines around all four sides with the Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker
- Stamp the Magnificent Maple stamp on Very Vanilla card stock, sponge some color on the leaf and cut out. Make 2.
- the title uses the Fabulous Phrases stamp set for the “one” and the “day” – stamp and punch those out. FALL is cut with the Big Shot using the Typeset Alphabet dies.

- to make the Chevron Design – I punched a piece of thin cardboard (what comes in the Designer Paper packs) using the Chevron Border punch to create a stencil – place the stencil on your background and use sponge daubers to sponge ink through the stencil.

- Add photo mats, additional die cut leaves and woodgrain buttons tied with Linen Thread.

- Add your fun fall photos to finish this layout!
Items from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog that I used on this layout include the Sweater Weather Designer paper, the Magnificent Maple stamp, Chevron Border Punch, and Truly Grateful stamp set.
Thanks for visiting my blog on this fall day!

Sep 18, 2013 | Designer Series Paper, family, Holiday Catalog 2013, Stamper's Club |
It is so nice of the weather to start feeling like fall during Fall Break. Well Ryan has fall break right now – a week off from school – the rest of the family doesn’t. I guess once some of the kids are in college it is hard to get everyone together on the same schedule. Ryan may not be too happy with me about the activities I had planned for his break week. We have been spending some time together – but all of it revolves around doctors appointments. I’m making up for lost time with busy schedules he was due for just about everything and with a busy after school schedule due to Marching Band it really limits when I can get appointments – so this was the week to catch up.
It is starting to look like fall around here – at least all the leaves are starting to fall off the trees – the temps have been lower this week and there has been a breeze so it has been nice. I think it will be nice weather for my fall retreat which is in two weekends – I can’t wait. So with fall in the air I have a “fall themed” project to share.
It is a jumbo clip – photo holder – on the card stock you can add a photo to display. I made one of these years ago and have it in my bathroom – it actually has a picture of the dogs – Aspen & Magnolia. This one I plan to add a picture of my boys – I just have to decide which one. We made this at my Stamp Club this month. Here are a few details –
- I bought the jumbo clip on line a long time ago so I don’t remember exactly where I got them – they were prepainted white.
- I covered the front and back with a piece of the Burlap Ribbon
- on the front I added a strip of the Sweater Weather Designer paper, cut a leaf from a different print – sponged the edges, stamped the acorn from Truly Grateful stamp set – it’s also sponged with Soft Suede ink inside and on the edges after it was cut out, tie some linen thread around the acorn

- for the photo mat I used Chocolate Chip card stock
- add a strip of the Sweater Weather Design Paper to the side
- I pierced 4 holes using the piercing pad, template and piercer and then used Linen Thread and cross-stitched through and tied in a bow in the corner.
- stamp “Thankful for” from the Truly Grateful stamp set and punch out with the Modern Label punch, sponge the edges and add to the corner

I hope you like it. I got the idea for this project from our demonstrator magazine – Stampin’ Success – it had a similar project using two small clothespins and I remembered I had these big ones so I wanted to use those to create something similar. I like the way it turned out and now need to decide on which photo to add to it.
Thanks for stopping by today!
