One more card from the Holiday card class – I think this is the last one and the class favorite!
It is really gorgeous in person – it sparkles with the new Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint – used two different ways on this card.
My card design came from a card that I made when I went to Christina Crawford’s Stamp Camp in Virginia. But she used a different stamp set and I don’t think we had a greeting on the card so the bottom portion was different. The scalloped square was one that I had done last year – but with a single layer – this card has a double scallop square.
The base is soft suede and the ink is soft suede also. The ornament is stamped, then punched out with the coordinating Ornament punch. I love that Stampin’ Up! coordinates the punches with so many stamped images. And this punch has lots of other possibilities besides being just an ornament. Th ornament has a gold shimmer that was created using the Stampin’ Up! Shimmer paint in Champagne Mist. Shake the bottle, remove the lid and then dab a Stampin’ Sponge on the rim of the bottle to pick up a small amount of pain, dab it on the ornament to give it shimmer. A little paint goes a long way so you don’t need much. And to make the most of my Stampin’ Up! sponges I always cut them into 8 pieces. I keep the sponge for the shimmer paint in the little ziploc bag with the bottle of paint then it all stays together. A piece of gold cord was wrapped around the top of the 
ornament and it was attached to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To create the scallop square piece – the Soft Suede card stock is cut to 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ and the Kraft card stock is cut to 3″ x 3″. For each layer center the Scallop Edge punch on each side and make one punch. So you punch one time on each side of both pieces. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede card stock and then layered them together. Use a paper piercer to poke holes and add the brads.
The base of the card is stamped with the little sparkle image from the Delightful Decorations stamp set. Then the base of the card is spritzed with shimmer paint. I use an old Stampin’ Mist bottle and pour in some rubbing alcohol and add a few drops of the Shimmer Paint. Shake well and then spritz lightly on your card stock. I didn’t use a particular amount of shimmer paint – I just added a few drops and then spritzed it. If it isn’t enough shimmer, add a couple more drops to the bottle, shake and spritz again. I have been adding lots of sparkle to many of my holiday cards and projects with this. It is very light. I am not a glitter girl so I like the faint shimmer that this adds to my projects and it isn’t as messy as glitter either.
The “Merry Christmas” stamp is from the Christmas Greetings stamp set and was stamped in Soft Suede ink on Kraft card stock. One edge was scalloped and all sides were sponged.
We stamped a matching Kraft envelope. This was the class favorite!

I showed some cards using the Stampin’ Up! set Holiday Lineup a few weeks ago. Here is one more that we made in my Holiday Card class. Everyone that came to the class got to choose which image they wanted to use – either the reindeer, the snowmen or the elves. All of them have such funny expressions on their faces. The reindeer were the fastest because you could just color them all the same color. We stamped the image in Black StazOn ink and then used Stampin’ Write markers to color them in.
I thought I had a picture of the snowmen card – but I can’t find it on my computer – so maybe I didn’t take one after all – hmm….
The Designer Series paper is Merry Moments from the regular catalog. The colors are Old Olive, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. You can’t see it much on this card but on the snowman card I used the white gel pen to add accents – like the pom-pom on the end of the hat (one reindeer does have a hat on) – the white stands out against the vanilla card stock. The Stampin’ Write markers were used for all the coloring. Some chunky glitter on the center reindeer would be cute too – but I didn’t have any for the class – I have some now, so I may add that to my card.

I’m back home – we drove all day today and we are home. I had a couple of days without posting – one was Thanksgiving – we spent the day cooking, then eating and enjoying our time with family, then cleaning it all up, then getting it all out and eating some more. We were all stuffed! Friday the girls went shopping and most of the boys went to the battlefield for a hike. Friday night we pulled out all the Thanksgiving left overs one more time. And packed up so we could leave early this morning. Aspen and Magnolia are VERY HAPPY to have us home and to be back in their own house instead of at the kennel.
Onto another card from my Holiday Card class – this is one my favorite cards. The colors are Soft Suede, Old Olive, Ruby Red and Whisper White. We received this stamp set from Stampin’ Up! at the Chattanooga Regional – it is called Berry Christmas from the Holiday mini catalog. There was a card on one of the display boards that I took a photo of and created my version for my class – I stuck pretty close to the original because I just loved it. I don’t know who the original creator was because we can’t see that on the display boards. It might have been someone at the corporate office – I’m not sure.

And on to the next card from my Holiday card class. It uses the Snow Buddies stamp set which is a Level 2 Hostess set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday mini catalog.
A cute set that basically lets you build your own snow man. For this card some of us used the short snowmand and others used the tall snowman – everyone got to build their own the way they wanted.
The sample shown here is the short snowman with the ice skates. I stamped his skates a bit below his body and added stick legs with a marker. I found that to be easier (and look better) than trying to line up the ice skates perfectly with the bottom of his body. Although if you used the stamp-a-ma-jig you shouldn’t have any problems lining it up. I added the knit cap and arms.
The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and some people used the “Merry Christmas” while others used “Happy New Year”. My little trick is to punch the greeting with the Modern Label punch and then punch another Modern Label from a colored card stock – cut that one in half and add it behind the greeting so it hangs out on either end. It looks like it is framing it without actually having a larger one.
On the envelope I added the snow swirl and then the knit cap so it looks like it is blowing in the wind. Wasn’t that what Frosty was after anyway – his hat blowing in the wind? This stamp set includes a top hat as well and some people used that instead.
I think it is a fun stamp set! And I like snowmen. We do not have a lot of snow where we live, maybe a dusting here and there. And if there is snow in North Georgia since we are in the foothills we are just enough south that it doesn’t hit us usually. Maybe this winter we’ll have a little so we can make our own real snowman.

Dasher is one of the most popular stamps in the current Stampin’ Up! catalog. It is on the very back page in the Under $10 section. It is an individual stamp and is $8.95. He matches the Level 2 Hostess Set in the Definitely Decorative catalog – the large Dasher Decor Elements.
This card is the second card from my Holiday Card class. The Dasher image is stamped twice – once on the Whisper White panel and again on a scrap of Whisper White. The body of the Dasher is cut out of the scrap and then attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals on top of the other giving it a 3-dimensional look. To simplify this card you could omit that step. I added a tiny Red Rhinestone brad at the tip of his nose on the image stamped on the panel and then tucked the other one just under the edge of the brad.
